I came here late, I'm from out of town, I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo and was very satisfied. My fries were hot and fresh, the chicken sandwich was perfectly spicy!!!!! Tasha, didn't know we had the same name until I got back to my hotel. She was an awesome server, it's hard to be that friendly at 1:30 am! The staff were also great because my food was perfect. Sooooooo. This place does not just put the What in Whataburger but it puts the WTF!!!! in it. I decided to stop at this Whataburger because I admit they had pretty good food when I was living in Texas. If you are looking for a clean place, courteous employees, well trained staff, and quick service? Well what do you know you will not find it here. I placed my order through the online app and it was not ready so I was told. In all actuality it was ready but it was too much to turn a bag and see that my name was on it. I waited about 15 minutes as they were trying to figure out where my order was. The crazy part is that in this time people came in and just walked out because the person who was supposed to be on the register could not be found. She finally came back and of course no consequences and no washing of her hands. This no washing of hands is a common theme. This 15 minutes was telling. In this time I saw an employee walk out the store after sweeping and just went back to preparing food. One person was arguing with the manager who was interviewing a potential new employee. For real imagine being on a job interview and the person who is interviewing you stops to get in it with one of the employees who is talking back to the manager. This was not a "I love working at Whataburger because it gives me a chance to improve on my people skills" conversation. When you hear someone suck their teeth then yeah I know what that was about. Some of you know that if you did that when talking to your parents it was not going to end well. You know what the best part of this shaking my head in you got to be kidding me thoughts? It was that after putting in a complaint I was reimbursed my money. I was told the issue would be addressed by the Whataburger Customer Care Team. "Additionally, we have escalated your feedback regarding your experience to restaurant leadership so we may capitalize on this potential training opportunity." What-A-Buger, pronounced Wateraburger by the locals and those in the know. I've been coming to this Whataburger since I can remember. I have very fond memories of coming here with my father. And now every time I come home, I try to hit this place at least once there's not one within a couple 100 miles of South Florida; my therapist says I'm managing my separation anxiety pretty well. And get a burger just like my daddy would order: Extra Mustard and Pickles. Although the menu has changed over time, the menu has evolved a bit but the core of the menu is the same. Single, Double and cardiologist loving Triple. Breakfast is still a good buy and the best thing about the place is they don't cook your burgers until you place your order. My order was okay because they put onions on my burger after telling them not to because of an allergy. The fries were hot and crispy and the only time you'll see me eating Ketchup (Spicy Ketchup) is at Wahtaburger. And it is the South, so a Sweet Tea was a must! The best thing about this visit was that absolutely delicious cinnamon roll. They come in Singles, Double, Quads or a tray of Six. The fancy ketchup was a no for me and they didn't have avocados like advertised to add to the burger, but I did add the bacon. Customer service is no different then any bigger fast food place. I'd give my first Whataburger experience 3.5 stars, but I rounded up to 4 for Yelp. I'm a Georgia native, born and raised, who heard that Whataburger is a holy place from transplants. It sounded too good to be true: the greatest selection of condiments known to man, breakfast all day, and open 24 hours. I knew I had to go try Whataburger the first chance I got. We wanted to eat inside the restaurant but the interior was closed to the public (bummer) so we went through the drive-thru. All my Whataburger fanatic friends recommended 1. The patty melt 2. The spicy ketchup and 3. Breakfast taquitos or biscuit sandwiches. With those recommendations in mind, we tried ordering breakfast items but they said they stopped serving breakfast food all day (another bummer) so we got the patty melt, chicken strip sandwich, cheeseburger and fries with lots of spicy ketchup. First, the highlights: y'all weren't lying about that spicy ketchup; it hits! I'm no ketchup fanatic but I'd dip just about anything in that stuff. Whataburger's fries were hot and fresh and really good, too. Also, the cheeseburger was better than I expected. It's huge and filled to the brim with toppings. Chicken strip sandwich was pretty good, especially dipped in the amazeballs jalapeño ranch sauce (y'all are on to something with Whataburger having the best condiments). Now the big letdown of our experience was the patty melt. Where was the "melt"?! It was bland and lukewarm and needed something else to give it some zing other than just meat and cheese. My husband and I went here during a layover at the nearby Greyhound station. Coming from a long ride that only had stops with gas station foods, we were finally excited to eat a real meal. Before arriving we checked the reviews for this location and it didn't seem too good but stayed open minded since we've heard about Whataburger on some blogs and read on yelp that this location will have had a renovation by now. This is on the same side of the road as greyhound and though there aren't any sidewalks, it's definitely walking distance. When we walked in we were kindly greeted by an older white lady who mentioned we look like we just came from a bus. She mentioned they get a lot of people coming in from there. She could tell we weren't familiar with the menu. I asked how the pies are prepared and she said fried, we were sold. Both the apple pie and lemon pie were good but I thought the apple pie was better. Unfortunately both were small but that may be a good thing haha. I ordered the Honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich and my husband got a whataburger. Mine was great while his was aiiight. The restroom here was big and pretty clean! The five stars for this review is for this location having good service, a good menu (there were a lot of options), and a pretty clean store. Oh and they are 24 hours open. These may not seem like a big deal for a fast food joint but for people traveling from a far, this place is like an oasis. I hope their management stays keeps this place going. Keep it up! read more

Hadn't had it in years and they nailed it. Customer service was back on track. Reminded me of the old days. Got my double whataburger with grilled onions and jalapeños. Oh baby it was soooo good. Fried on point, fountain soda on point. Manager was a little loud but she was trying to keep the team on track and motivated. Could be a little softer in your approach but overall good job. As a professional chef and business operator I always try to keep my directions to my team personalized and toned down. Twenty years ago I would have yelled at them all fired them all and worked doubles until I found new ones. But good job keeping the team on track. I am a big Whataburger fan and try to visit Whataburger restuarants while traveling since there isn't a Whataburger in my home town. I was in Mobile for a college football game and took a friend to visit Whataburger. I bragged to him about how good Whataburger breakfast food. Plus I wanted to try the new chorizo taquito. The person taking my order was confused and my order wasn't made correctly. The breakfast burrito did not have any chorizo meat and my breakfast sandwich was made with bacon, but I requested sausage. My fiancée and I had plans that night to meet with family in town and ended up canceling them because we waited an hour to get food through the drive thought. They weren't even busy. Each car they make the drive wait to take and order for about 5 minutes and then take five minutes to bring the food at the window itself. This is by far the slowest fast food restaurant in all of mobile and Baldwin County. The employees work with absolutely no sense of urgency or care to customer wait times. I literally just sat in line for 15 minutes plus just for a chocolate shake at which point I just drove off because there were eight cars in front of me. I have never in my life seen this slow of a fast food joint especially as expensive as Whataburger is. This is not the first time as this location is plagued by slow wait times no matter what time of the day you choose to go. Not only do I usually have to repeat my order at least twice half of the time they cannot tell me my total or they mess up the sizing on my order. I came into buy cheese curds and see what else they had, the menu is one you scan with your phone camera and you order frim their online menu. Because my phone was dead I started charging my phone for not even 5 minutes and as I was literally ordering my cheese curds the bar tender was mean mugging me then came up to me saying "you can charge your phone outside this isn't that kind of place" I showed him I was in the middle of order and he continued with a very weird and rude tone, pretty sure he was racist plus the bar was empty so I just decided to leave. I wish I could give this location an honest review on its food but it never got that far. The employee taking orders in the drive through on 7/17/18 around 10-11PM genuinely needs more training or another job looking at the sun. I couldn't get a straight answer as to why I could order one sandwich at one location and then have him say they don't serve that burger at their location. If you don't know, ask your manager. My first time eating at a whataburger. I looked online for vegetarian options and saw that you could request hashbrowns in place of a beef patty. The manager in training, Jeff, said that would be no problem and informed us as first time visitors that whataburger serves everything fresh unlike other fast food restaurants. He was right! Everything tasted delicious and my sandwich was so filling i couldnt finish most of my fries (which are delicious with the spicy ketchup btw). This was my family & I's first Whataburger experience. We are officially hooked. When we drive up from Miami to visit my brother we will definitely be eating Whataburger (probably NOT this location though). The food was fresh & SO good. Not a single negative thing can be said about the food/quality (for fast food at least lol). The service, while not the BEST was still decent. The staff was friendly enough & one of the guys joked around with us as he made some shakes. It took a little while to get our food but everyone seemed to be on task while they were joking around with each other so I chalk it up to the fact that it seemed to be a bit busy. Side note: spicy ketchup?!?! What is this wondrous condiment?! It should be everywhere! Now, the negative....the restaurant itself is fu**ing DISGUSTING!! This is no fault (at least not the majority of it) of the employees. This place is CLEARLY old. I'm not sure how much cleaning the employees could do to make it decent. I have NO idea how the health department hasn't shut this place down. Maybe there isn't one in Alabama? I don't know. I'm from Florida & I saw SO many health/contamination issues I can't even imagine what's going on where the customers CAN'T see. Seriously though...the floor...I can't reiterate enough how fu**ing disgusting it is. That's not even the worst part!! The ceiling is LITERALLY falling down! They had buckets & cups placed around the restaurant (in the middle of the dining area, a table, & right next to the register!) to collect the water from all the leaks!!! There was water leaking (not sure if it's an A/C problem or a condensation issue) in the food prep area also! How the f**k is that sanitary! These are obviously not new issues either because the ceiling is discolor we from the water damage/leaks & some of the tiles from the ceiling are even sagging. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on Whataburger for allowing one of their locations to operate in such an unsanitary & disgusting manner. If this location is franchised, they should either require it be brought up to code/standards or close it down for the franchisee not being able to maintain some sort of standards at this location. If its not franchise owned, fix this place up! It's disgusting. We will definitely be enjoying Whataburger in the future, just NEVER at this location again, which is a shame because the food quality & service itself was not bad.
