Haven't been to this location in a while but was in the area and figured I'd give them a chance even though something told me to go to the closer one to the house on s fry. Regardless, I placed my order in the app so I could get the points as well as customize my burger in hopes to get it how I like it. Go to pick it up, walk inside and no order. After 3 rounds and showing the gal behind the counter the order on my phone, she was able to find it in their system. Another, what was supposed to be a quicker stop run in took 20-30 from parking to walking out the door with my order. Would have walked away but it was already paid for through the app. Good news though, when it was ready, it was all hot and fresh. I ordered a LARGE onion ring from Whataburger. What I received was an emotionally large onion ring order. Let me be very clear: I did not eat a single onion ring on the way home. I did not sneak one. I did not "sample for quality control." This is exactly how they handed it to me. Half full. Actually... maybe optimistically half full. I don't know who decided that a "large" onion ring should look like it's on a diet, but this is ridiculous. When I order a large, I expect onion rings to the top, not playing hide-and-seek at the bottom of the container like they're ashamed to be there. This isn't inflation -- this is onion ring shrinkflation. I paid for a large and received what appears to be: * a medium's shy cousin * a portion suggestion * a container full of hopes and dreams If you're going to charge for a large, at least pretend you're trying. These onion rings look like they were poured in, shook once, and sent out with a "good luck out there." I've included photos so no one thinks I'm exaggerating -- because honestly, I wish I were. Was here visiting Houston came to see a good friend of mines. When she moved here she bragged on a few favorite go to fast food places. Whataburger was one of them so I had to try it. The burgers are huge. Im talking gotta hold with two hand type burgers. Fresh ingredients throughout. I really don't eat fries but the shoestring fries here are yummy! I also had a peach shake and I was instantly addicted! I tried to go back to try something else on the day my flight was leaving but the line was too long. We go every weekend for breakfast and it's always yummy and the surroundings are clean. The only downside are the occasional homeless person sleeping on a table. I'm glad they have kindness in their hearts, but maybe just give them some food and send them on their way. Otherwise, the management is doing awesome and I really enjoy visiting. read more

I arrived in Houston pretty late and just wanted something decent to eat. We attempted to go to Chili's but it was closed. Mind you it was like 10 pm. Everything here closes early thanks to hurricane Harvey. We spotted this place in the parking lot. It was lit up like Christmas. It stood out. Why not give it a shot. I had heard of them before but never had it. We went through drive thru and again. Excellent customer service and friendliness. Everyone in Texas are friendly. No crazy drive thru lady in the window. We ordered double burgers with extra onions, mayo, fries and drink. When we got back to our hotel and sat down, we opened the burgers. Omg! We hit the jack pot. They are huge but the taste Jesus. You can tell they are 100% all beef no soy here. My God where have you been all my life. The taste kind of reminds you of Burger King but a much higher level. WhataBurger you all have it going on. The drive through service was great. However, the cheese on my burger was not melted at all. Whataburger used to be the greatest, but I think they have lost it for sure. They need to put the cheese on the burger one minute before they take the burger off. They need to heat the buns directly on the grill one minute before they take the burger off. Used to have great burgers before pandemic. You could get them to cook it medium or medium rare and it was nice and juicy. Now they cook al 2.5 minutes which gives you a medium well burger, which is dry and tasteless . This used to be the best burger anywhere, but now tastes like cardboard. Try Willie's Icehouse.
