I called to place an order. The lady said ok and asked me to hold as it sounded like she was taking another order. When she came back she asked what I wanted. The first thing I ordered was a burger and asked if she would add mushrooms and jalapeños as I saw a Google menu that said these items could be added. She said no that they don't have these items. No problem, I just asked for the burger loaded as is. She asked if I wanted the Bellfort and Fondren location. I said yes and she said ok. Then I told her the other 4 foods wanted including a salad, onion rings and a shake. Then I asked what drinks they had. She told me and I ordered a fountain drink also. She asked if that was all and I told her yes. She paused and then said "I'm sorry but we can't take orders over the phone, you have to use our app". No answer was given as to why that was not mentioned earlier in the call. Whataburger needs to have their employees work on better customer service and maybe offer better training. Nothing particularly different about this location. I'm a Whataburger fan. The patty melt I got tasted exactly like I remembered it. Fries were crispy, and the shake was good. It's Whataburger. It's very, very hard to mess up. In fact, I don't think I've ever left a Whataburger in any mood aside from very, very happy. This location isn't in the greatest of areas, but that doesn't change the fact the food is as good as at any other Whataburger! I've never had a problem with the employees, they always seem nice and courteous, with "sirs" and "thank yous" being normal. Every time I come here after work the line is wrapped around the store and this is at 11:30-12:00 I get there. They are always out of something, be it spicy ketchup or cups it's something that the management should be ordering. I get once in a while you run out of something but not every week that's poor planning. Then 90% of the time my order is wrong I get one thing from here and that is "a number 3, plan and dry, with cheese" it's not rocket science. But somehow I get number 1's and 2's, or no cheese, it's fully dressed, or I get a chicken bites meal. I don't know what the big deal is about Whataburger sandwiches. It's meat on meat in a floppy bun, with cheap guilt written all over it. I've never written a review before but WOW I'm very disappointed and upset with this Whataburger location! First off, I had to wait nearly 30min to get to the window with only a few cars in front of me. (Time: 5pm) To be honest for me time isn't a big deal as long as everything is right. My order was a Monterrey Melt combo with a powerade to drink. When I got home and took a bite of my burger i knew something was wrong! They had put together 2 patties with fajita vegetables, bbq sauce, bacon, and grilled onions. I'm very upset because the burger was disgusting! It's like they just threw whatever they found into the sandwich! Lastly, i really don't complain about the drinks because i know any restaurant could have the same thing, but the powerade was mostly water. Overall, I don't recommend ANYONE coming to this location to buy whataburger! I rather drive to the other location(10310 S Post Oak Rd, Houston, TX 77035) even if its a few minutes away! I usually come to this whataburger because it is closest to my house. In the beginning, i never had a problem with them but on my last 2 visits there, they weren't good. The first visit, i ordered just a soda and as im driving home and drinking it, i immediately had to pull over and throw up. I didn't drink anymore of it. Now 2 days ago, i went there and ordered a bacon and cheese burger i believe and a root beer. About a hour later, i was throwing it up. Come to find out i had food poisoning. I don't know what the issue is but this only happens in the daytime. I would go there at night with the nice old man. I believe he is african and there is another african man that works there as well. They are always polite and the food is always right.
