    Burned Whataburger
    Andhy C.

Quick order but they really just burned my mf burger dude, like the fries were nice but cmon.

    What burger?
    Fox E.

They didn't even give me a burger. It should be called Whatburger? This is the Whataburger located up on the Northwest Freeway, and it's a pretty good one all things considered, and one that the last couple of times we came here both the burger and the fries were lukewarm, and I'm not as big on the milkshakes as Barbi is so that pretty much was the trifecta of mediocrity for me - and that's why I reduced them from the three I was going to give them to the two that I'm now giving them.

    WHERE'S THE BEEF
    Lou C.

I happened to have a desire to eat beef, after got turned down at Target (ran out of hotdogs). I saw this orange roof with Whataburger sign sat in front of Northwest Crossing mall. The restaurant is fairly standard. I have been here before the Highway 290 construction. Yeah. It was many years ago. I still don't remember why I wanted beef after seeing the prices. I could had gone to Jack in the Box or Burger King across Hollister. So, here I was with beef craving. I asked cashier if there was anything special. Her look was like asking the same question. That was embarrassing for me as a customer. Ok. Since the prices are high, let me start from the cheapest burger on the menu. So, I got a Whataburger Jr. I didn't think I would eat at the dining room because the workers were chatty in the kitchen. I guess 5 PM is shift changing time. When I got to my car opening the wrapper, I said to myself WHERE IS THE BEEF? Not judging on the beef patty size, but the bun looked like someone's bun sat on it. It was dry and cold, I suspect it was a leftover. Was this a punishment because I ordered the cheapest burger? Is the economy that bad and I'm so poor to afford a decent burger? At the end of day, my hard earned $2.49 exchanged for this 2.5 star review. I'd gone to Circle K for $3 gas station meal deal.

Heath Hitler's Whataburger. It doesn't corrupt the Chick Fil A next door.

I went to the Whataburger at 290 and Jones Road today. The food tastes great, the service is excellent and I'm sure this location is what the founders of Whataburger envisioned when they started the restaurant. The location is about 15 minutes from the Whataburger at the 610 north loop. As mentioned in a past review of the 610 north location, it is a magical place! I went there with my son after game 5 of the 2017 World Series and it was still going crazy at 2am. Magical! Best night in Houston sports history! Let's go Astros! So the 290 location is the polar opposite of the 610 location. It's amazing that they are even the same fast food chain. The 610 location is like Adolf Hitler and the 290 location is like Jose Hilter, Adolf's philanthropic compassionate brother. Adolph is sitting over at the 610 north loop, probably rounding up the rodents and not flushing the toilet (after a deuce) and Jose is making sure every aspect of your dining experience is enjoyable on 290. Adolph is out rounding up people in the drive through and dragging them off to the chick fil a next door and Jose is bringing you both regular AND spicy catchup...with a smile. (I could have been in that drive through line on the night of the best game is World Series history!) Adolph, you are the worst person ever. Not even Jose, who is the most caring soul in the world (which is on display daily with his excellent customer service), loves you. Hip hip Jose! I can't associate the 290 Whataburger with the greatest day in our national pastime, I can't associate the 610 Whataburger with Germany's worst atrocities. What I can do, however, is count on a warm cheeseburger with piping hot fries and Dr Pepper that doesn't taste like antifreeze from Jose and his coworkers every time I visit the 290 Whataburger. Avoid the atrocity! Head out to 290 the next time you have a hankering for a hamburger.

Patty- juicy and full of flavor, Bun- toasted and soft at the same time, fries were crispy and salted to perfection and everything in between. Puts its local competitors to shame. The ambiance is fast casual, lots of seating, people socializing, and a vibe that makes you ask yourself why you haven't visited earlier. Service was quick and friendly, they made great recommendations for first time customers. I actually ordered the wrong shake on accident and they gave me a second one for free. Glad to see that even in this economy the staff doesn't nickel and dime you. Great people Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a casual date, I'd honestly use any excuse to stop by again!

A standard smashed Double cheeseburger and generous extra crispy impressively seasoned waffle fries as you want it cost $16 which is fair since adding the fries vs standalone burger is only $1 price differential. Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. One that even has a cool bathroom with a mirror that says "you look amazing." Exactly how you're going to feel about the food that looks even better than it does in its promo photos
