Stopped by just before 10 last night and went in to order as we're indecisive and didn't want to hold up the drive thru line trying to figure out what we wanted on our first ever Whataburger visit. The inside was very clean and the staff was hard at work. We ordered off the kiosk and got to spend as much time as needed figuring out what we wanted to order. I got the sweet & spicy bacon burger, fries and an OJ. My husband got a double Whataburger with fries and a fountain drink. Our food was brought out by a very pleasant and polite young lady with orange in her hair. I'm sad I didn't catch her name as she was wonderful! My OJ was missing but she had no problem grabbing me one when asked! We tried a fry on the way home, and I'm glad we did. We have about a 15 min drive and the fries did not hold up hot and fresh. They were still good, but that first car fry was amazing! We'll definitely dine in or eat the fries in the car next visit! The burgers were phenomenal. They were full of flavor and the toppings complemented them nicely! They were nice and hot when we got home as well! Only downside was the missing sauces in our bag. Not a deal breaker and I should have checked before we left, but it's okay! We have ketchup at home and I hadn't yet decided how to use my ranch! My husband and I finally made it to Whataburger. I got the #1 which is the Original Whataburger with fries and a drink. My husband got the #2, which is the Double Whataburger with fries and a drink. We waited do about 5-10 min for our food. We both agreed the burgers were pretty big and were pretty good. I should have asked for light mustard. It had more mustard than what I usually like, but it was okay. There weren't many onions on my burger. I couldn't taste them at all. The fries were hot, crispy and pretty good as well. Not sure what all the hype was about and the long lines in drive-thru when they first opened because I've had better. Would I go again? Maybe. read more

Whataburger whata you doing I mean I am addicted! We come on opening week had great options for a burger place. Services was very kind and fast. Sadly coming in the middle of the day on the weekend will be slower BUT I have no complaints as they do keep the people moving in and out. I do wish they had more inside seating but over all happy with how clean everything is. Loved it so much we came back 3 other different times. It didn't live up to the hype. It wasn't bad, the burger is a solid burger but I wouldn't drive across town for it. The vibe is strange without any music the restaurant was weirdly quiet. There was only 1 counter person, they seem to be going the McDonald's way of self service kiosks. I'm not a fan of that. read more

First time ever trying a Whataburger, and it left me thinking it might be my last. It's so close by, that probably won't be the case, but it's going to be a long time before I feel like experimenting here again. The lines here right now are insane, I guess because many are like me and have never had it, but they are open 24 hours. So... I just went really late after getting back on a late flight into Greensboro. Monday around 11pm. They had plenty of staff and there were only about 5 people in line, so even though it was late, I felt I would get at least pretty close to their best. I placed my order with the lady by the menu, and got something for my wife as well. Mine was a patty melt combo on texas toast with onion rings, here was an... i dunno what burger, with fries. We both ordered half sweet half unsweet tea, and a side of honey mustard. We waited a good 10 minutes, which was fine, expecting a hot order. We only had about a 5 minute drive home, which on the way, we realized they made the drinks half tea half lemonade. We specifically said tea, so it's not like we said "half and half" and they misunderstood. OK for me, but my wife didn't like it. Getting home, we pulled out the burgers and sides... no honey mustard. The fries were so cold, they were mushy. The cold onion rings, being onion rings, were still edible though not ideal. My burger, the patty melt, had enough things on it that I thought it tasted just OK. The patty had very little seasoning, if any at all, and there was no crust or char on it. The whole thing was very flat, and the toast was not crisp at all. My wife's burger was completely bland, again no seasoning or brown crust. Is this just how burgers are at this place? Anyhow, I only give 1 star reviews for a total debacle, and while this was close, I'll give it the slight credit that I was able to eat mine and I did try it "late". I have been dreading making this review. I have , since opening, been to the new Whataburger on Wendover, a total of five times as a Texan and a burger lover. I am severely disappointed each time I've gotten a Whataburger it has been smashed sloppily thrown together, and there's consistently something missing from the bag. Overall, I think the problem that this location is having it's purely around the staff. While lines were super long the first opening weeks and I was inclined to give them a pass. It has only devolved since. drive-through staff have no idea what they're doing. It's like they hired any person that walked in during construction. I've spent countless minutes of my life that I will not get back watching employees let food sit in the drive-through window while dancing, singing, flirting, and whatever else with 5+ people outdoors and no one getting food. Not only are they inefficient and lack professionalism. They are outwardly rude. It'll be a couple of weeks before I look for any improvement. read more

I really like the burgers here and there's value here. I have eaten the burgers several times in Texas, and enjoyed the experience. Getting in and out was a bit of a zoo on the first day, but I made it thru. I ordered the Double with Cheese and FF, as well as the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Both sandwiches were good but neither is at the top of the national fast food chains. This will almost assuredly become a cult place! read more

Place has been open a week only and still the car line extends out the parking lot. Service is still pretty quick and efficient. Everyone provides a friendly smile while taking your order. Food was really good. The inside of the location seemed pretty busy as well. Currently the ambiance is hectic with all the large crowds trying out the new food options. Overall not a bad experience. When I make a promise, I cannot go back on my word. My son wanted to try Whataburger and I promised we would go on the first day....yay me, Mom of the Year award coming soon...lol. Today, July 31st was the first day opening at this location and you know the traffic was NUTS!!!! Didn't even try the drive-thru, my son waited in line to go in. The line remarkably moved pretty quickly. On the outside Security was directing traffic...I'm pretty impressed how they were handling day 1. You place your order via a kiosk and grab your order at the counter. This location is 24 hours which is super interesting. I think it will do well in the location. The burger is solid. I've had Whataburger in Texas where the brand originated and it tastes the same here as it does in Texas. I got the bacon burger today. It was sloppily put together as you can see, but I don't mind, I like a messy burger. I have no complaints. I would place this burger above Mc, BK, and W any day. Okay... first off...I know they just opened, but taking this long to get the kinks sorted out is probably normal, except the fact that I was literally stuck in the drive thru due 45 minutes this morning getting breakfast. It took 20 minutes to order and I couldn't leave the line as the lady kept disappearing for one reason or another. Then instead of paying attention, she was talking on her phone on the speaker to a friend. Normally I can let that slide but the breakfast was underwhelming. Didn't help it was cold by the time I was able to get home as the food sat for nearly 30 minutes in my car. I got the breakfast burger, interesting concept but the flavor was just bland and commercialized. The sausage and potato taquito was nothing crazy. Tasted like a bland burrito. Eggs are extremely poor quality. Then the honey chicken on a jalapeño cheddar biscuit was pretty decent. Tiny. Like a chikfila biscuit. Give them a month before going. But so far? So I ordered food on the app for curbside pick up. This was around 2:30pm on a Thursday. I parked and put in the number in the designated spot. It was not busy. Waited 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes. I had to get out and go in to get my food. It was just sitting behind the counter and they "forgot" to bring it out. I was so excited for the new Whataburger and it didn't disappoint. The lines can be a bit daunting-the first time I waited about an hour, but about two weeks later I visited during the middle of lunchtime and the wait time was only about 20 minutes, so things are getting better. I've loved their burgers since I first ate one on vacation in Texas. They're huge! They aren't quite as thin as smash burgers. They have a little weight to them, but still good nonetheless the spicy ketchup is a must. The staff is incredibly warm and kind. It didn't live up to the hype for me. I didn't really have expectations. I had heard it compared to In-N-Out but to me it wasn't close. The people were super friendly and answered my questions thoroughly and made suggestions. The burger was on the chewier tougher side vs juicy and tender. It was not too thin and not too thick (which I liked). My toppings were wrong so I had to remove half the Texas toast because I cannot stand mustard. The burger didn't really have a lot of flavor at all. It needed some salt and/or pepper. The fries were ok. Nothing to write home about. McDonald's fries are better in my opinion if you're comparing to other fast food joints. My Sprite was heavy on the syrup and way too sweet and not enough carbonation. The family and I went to Whataburger about a week after it's grand opening. It was obvious that we would be in a long line because you can see all the traffic approaching and already in the multiple lane drive-through. The entire restaurant is new and exterior of the building, remodeled from the prior business. When we approached the parking lot, there was a security guard at the one entrance that was directing traffic and there were multiple lanes open for the drive-through additional security guards were posted throughout the parking lot keeping everything in line. The employees were also standing outside directing and taking some orders. Due to the madness of how many people were there it did take close to 35 minutes overall which was expected. When we approached the cashier, we paid for our order and were directed to move up a little bit for a short wait and then received our food. I had the Whataburger with Whatasauce and it was a decent size burger. The burger patty was thick and seasoned ok but I felt like the sauce was a little too much so it did get a little bit sloppy. The fries were good too, and were crispy and hot so no complaints there. Overall, the food was good. I'll definitely be coming back now that the rush is over to try some more items. read more

The "whataburgers" we ordered had no taste at all; and had to be the thinest patty I have ever seen. If you put three of them together they would be about equivalent to a Whopper at Burger King. We waited, 20 minutes, yes 20, for two milkshakes and two cokes. We had finished our food in the drive through by the time the drinks came. What a zoo. The lines are super long. Drive thru goes out onto the street. The food does come out relatively quickly. Irs brand new so everything is clean and immaculate. The food is the same as in Texas.not surprising since it's a chain. The only difference is I don't remember the buns getting soggy so quickly. The bread stuck to my teeth and the roof of my mouth. All in all it's a nice change and a treat to bring some of texas to NC. All we need now js some real texas BBQ. It's a decent burger, not the best but better than the average chain. read more

My husband & I went through the drive thru, honestly dreading it a little but then realized it actually was moving fairly fast. we sat in line maybe 20 minutes? it was worth it! Diamond took our orders, she was a very sweet girl, super kind and informative!!! I got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich combo with sweet tea (the tea was warm) and my husband got the Sweet&Spicy sandwich +an added extra patty with their Vanilla Ice Coffee all for $27 which isn't bad (we usually spend about $30 at Chick-Fil-A) so compared we get more fries & bigger sandwiches with Whataburger! all the employees we super kind and have good attitudes. This location on Wendover in Greensboro is really not prepared to serve food to customers. This restaurant cannot read to go order tickets, apparently. On two back to back orders, we received either incorrect orders or the food service took 45+ minutes. When people order cheese on a burger (which is an upcharge), it might be a good idea to actually put that cheese on the burger. If people order drinks, you might actually want to put said drinks in the order. If you say an order will be done by a certain time, you might want to actually make the order with 5 minutes or so of the stated time... not 45 minutes. read more

I was in the Greensboro area and I stopped by Whataburger for lunch toady. I order just the Whataburger and a chopped salad. I am not familiar with Whataburger so I did not know if they make everything fresh to order but it was 4 cars waiting as I ordered and after I ordered 3 of the cars remained. I was then the 4th car and we waited for upwards of 10-15 minutes to get our orders. Keep in mind I was not busy at all during this time. I finally got my food and the burger was alright. I have had better and I did not see the hype. The salad did not have eggs or carrots on it but the chicken was tasty. Went there on 11/18 @ 1020pm, I was third in line at the drive thru. Place a order of just a Original burger and proceed to sit in line for 16 mins. Remember third in line. This isn't a fast food restaurant. After receiving the burger the only taste the burger had was onions. The beef had no taste. The first visit I understood the wait, now it's unacceptable, especially being third in line. Food quality has dropped off tremendously. What happened Whataburger? two girlfriends and I stop by for lunch on the way to Costco; first visit for all of us. We all ordered the Whataburger Junior, and had some onion rings. We all ordered within 90 seconds of each other. My burger came out cold I sent it back. My other two friends got their burgers and the onion rings. About two minutes later. When I did get my second burger it to was lukewarm as were the other two burgers, my friends had. The onion rings were somewhat greasy. Nothing to write home about. My wife and I traveled to your restaurant because of the good service we have always received but tonight was totally different. The cashier came out wearing gloves stating we need to order of the machine in the lobby. So my wife ordered what she wanted because it was suppose to be hot. After 22 minutes the cashier brought the food and we double checked the order and double checking I found the 4 pies missing. She said we forgot to drop them down and it would take 6 more minutes. 6 more minutes would have made the food cold and the manager Alex told us she was not going to give us fresh food for this mistake. We asked for a refund and left.
