I like this Cook Out location as well as any that I've been to, and I've been to my share. It is a nice spot for drive thru or for eating in. Like most Cook Out spots it can get crazy at peak times, that's why I like that they open at 10:30! I popped in here because I had called in a take out order at Golden Wok for the evening meal - more on that later. The food here is "real food made simple", and it is good food as well. The burgers are really nice (I especially like the Big Double with Cheese), the hot dogs follow suit ( both the chili dog and the dog with mustard and kraut), the Spicy Chicken sandwich is excellent (rivaling Popeye's and KFC), and even the BBQ is good, a fair Eastern NC version. On this trip I had Hot Dog with mustard & kraut and a Big Double with Cheese, Lettuce & Tomato. I don't get mayo on sandwiches here because the mayo they use is thin and runny, drips out on everything - I have the dry cleans bills to support that! I carry small packets of Duke's and apply it myself. These items were very good - well cooked and well packaged (not a given at Cook Out locations). I am happy for this restaurant chain's success. Super friendly greeting, exceptionally fast service! The cheddar style burger is always my go to at Cookout and this visit did not disappoint. The food is still the same cookout taste and menu as years past, which is good and consistent (especially their bbq sandwich, which I find very underrated for a fast food location). The past few times, the visits were pleasant and never felt rushed putting in my order while inside and a line growing. 85% of the time, my order is wrong. Add that to a ridiculously long drive thru line and it makes it hard to remain positive. Even the inside take out takes longer and it used to not. We come here all the time and are never usually disappointed but recently the night shift has been nothing but unpleasant and inattentive. Our last visit, we got a rock hard burger with a side of hella attitude. This time, they missed most of our meal but still got charged, and were rude to us the second we got up to the window. I visited this location while passing through Greensboro before heading to Raleigh. They messed up my order. I ordered a tray with seasoned fries but received onion rings. I went in to get my order corrected. There were 3 ladies who were annoyed that I asked them to fix my order. Upon giving me a bag with fries(still messed up my order), I asked for my receipt. They told me they needed to keep my receipt. So I asked for a copy of my receipt. I look in the bag and noticed that they gave me regular fries without the seasoning. They were still annoyed that I wanted the correct order. They tried to argue with me. I've been eating cook out since 2005 while visiting A&T for homecoming before becoming a student in 2007. I'm a big fan of Cook Out and frequent this location often. They have the best fast food milkshakes around and this particular location is always fast and has never gotten an order wrong. This is a pretty big deal cause I'm usually ordering for at least 5. They have some of the best Sweet Tea around (all locations) and their prices are very reasonable. The menu has just enough selections on it that you won't go without nor is there too much that you're overwhelmed. I do have a couple concerns though. 1. Cook Out was originally started in NC and even though it has expanded outside of the state I do wish they would consider switching over to Pepsi products which was also started in NC. In this state, Pepsi outsells it's competitor and Mtn Dew would spank any beverage it goes up against in Va, NC, and SC. 2. This is not really a concern as much as to a question of why. Different locations sell different items which at times is a drawback for me. Ex. You can't get okra (the ones that have it, have really good okra) at all locations. You can't get the walkin taco at all locations. Not sure if items like these are in trial phase but come on, do you know how disappointing it is when you can't get them? I recommend this location and any other location (with the exception of one) whether you're looking for a meal, a snack, dessert, or all three. read more

Next you have a pick of two sides that include onion rings, chili, corn dog, fries, hush puppies, bacon wrap, chicken wrap, chicken nuggets and slaw. It comes with a large drink and only costs $4.99 for four items. You can add a Fancy Shake for an extra $1.00. There are over 40 different shake flavors. This is definitely one of the best Cookout restaurants in the Triad; mainly because you can actually dine in, kick back and relax! The only other options to dine in locally is High Point on N Main and Asheboro. Love the cozy, rustic interior and the dining room is clean and spacious; can easily accommodate small or larger groups. My usual order: Out West Burger (with cheese & bacon), double cheese fries and a milkshake (usually the flavor changes per visit but my favorites are chocolate banana, cherry cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, chocolate cherry and Oreo). Their cole slaw is good too; sometimes I get that as a side but I do love my double order of cheese fries! You can't go wrong with their chicken wraps, crispy chicken sandwiches, chili cheese dog, quesadilla or a corn dog. Service is pretty average from restaurant to restaurant; never bad, never outstanding. Cookout is always quick, satisfying & convenient. Even if the line looks long at this location, it can go by pretty fast. They are open late and always there for me and my late night cravings.
