6:30 AM Wednesday. Food is fine. It is good. Service is terrible. I've been in three times in the last few months. Same thing. Napkin holder empty. Coffee urn gone and they hand me an empty cup. Nobody at the counter while 3 or 4 customers waited to order. Employee talking with a friend from behind the counter while people waited. Employees are lethargic and don't seem to be in a hurry to do anything. All of this is unlike any Whataburger I've ever been in and I've been in a lot. read more

Stopped for dinner with my family, electing to not got to a dine in establishment in the same parking lot because we wanted food fast. We sat in the drive in line for over 40 minutes!!! The same person took our order, took our payment, prepared our drinks but wasn't able to get us tea because the store was out?!?! There were TWO PEOPLE in the store with button up khaki shirts standing around watching him. We joked. " see that sign up there that says 24 hours? THAT'S how long it wakes to get your food." Every employee here seemed inadequate to work. Even the manager was less than helpful. I've never written a bad review in my life. My family of 6 came in tonight and I sat down for a good 10 mins (being 4 weeks from delivering a new baby.) Then my family finally figured out what they want so I stood up and attempted to order. Had to wait another 5-7 mins due to the only register being open-was waiting for approval for an employee discount so they could eat. The woman working the window failed me on several attempts. She took my cash for my order and didn't immediately give me my change although she just stood at the register for awhile. My order becomes ready and she goes to grab it and then hands me my bag. She realizes that I don't pull off instantly and then goes to hand me my change. She cups the bill and change in her palm very loosely and then slightly tilts it before it's even in my hand. All of my change hit the ground. She did not say sorry. That whole exchange just felt bad. I would suggest using your card at this one in case someone in there is trying to short change people. read more

As I was waiting for my meal one of the workers placed the tray on the table next to me , all of my fries spilt out of the container and she tossed some back in the container and served it to me ....leaving the rest of the fries on the table across from me. Did not offer to bring me new fries or a fresh batch....pretty disappointed and disgusted by there service and the actions of the worker. The service at this location is always friendly and accurate. i don't have to try to translate what they're saying through the drive thru speakers either, so not as much "WHAT DID YOU SAY? " and more 'THANKS!' i seem to get the same guy at the first window. he's always really happy and friendly, which is a big change for me since people who work at drive thrus in chicago are generally surly and hardly acknowledge you. the burgers aren't bad either. fries can be a bit salty, but still good. and really i'm thrilled that i can get a sweet tea almost anywhere in TX. read more

This place is cool & really caters to the fishing junkies in the area. You have fishing art all around the dining area as well as a fishin'boat popping out over the front counter! The outside looks like a lodge with log pillars and such. Good way to create atmosphere! They have exceptional service & will bring your food over to your table as well as periodically ask you if you need more condiments! Which prompts me to say, Give me some damn spicy ketchup. The place as a whole is kept clean and smells good af (meaning it's smells of fresh burger patties and crinkled fries). Overall great place to visit if you're in the area! It was late and we needed some late night grub. We got in a uber and told him to take us somewhere that's open. He took us here. It looked like a a 90s buger king inside. The menu had chicken and burgers, strips. I got a whatabuger, it's pretty simple , like a poor man's whopper without the chargrilled taste. Like a whopper is was messy soggy and must be eaten quickly. The chicken strips were standard but the jalapeño ranch was really good. Overall this is late night drunk food, but even as drunk as I was it was pretty bland. read more

I went through the drive thru at this location and as I was on my way back to work, I noticed my order was obviously someone else's order. I turned around and went in to have the team replace it. Not once did I receive any type of apology or acknowledgement that they had messed up. They corrected the order and when I asked for the drink, the manager said "just hand him a cup", expecting me to get my own drink....ummm ok. When I spoke to the manager afterwards and told him that I had received poor service, again he did not apologize or even ask what my issue had been. He went directly to tell me how short-staffed they are. Trust me, I work retail and I totally get it, staffing is very difficult right now, but I could have at least been asked what the issue had been. I get it's frustrating when you are not staffed. The employees are always so nice when we come they could be so busy and they always have smiles on their faces. Very well mannered. We don't mind a longer wait and if there is they are always apologetic. We live closer to the one on Northwest Hwy but that location is horribly managed and very sloppy employees. This is one of the cleanest and best run Whataburgers around. If you are in the Freeport area at the north end of DFW do yourself a favor and skip the nasty gas station Whataburger and try this one instead. It's also within walking distance of Outdoor World. The chicken strips (#13) are my go-to comfort food when I'm feeling a little under the weather. You also can't go wrong with a breakfast taquito or just the standard Whataburger (#1)! I dropped in for a late lunch - about 1:15. This location was still pretty crowded. Despite the crowds the restaurant was clean and the open tables freshly wiped. The food was predictable and good. I know, I know- it's Whataburger!!! Yes, I have lived in Texas for many many years and NO I had not been to a Whataburger. My good friend who LOVES Whataburger like the rest of the Texas free world convinced me that I MUST go and try it. So... I did. Now, it may have been the location- I know that can be a thing- and this was the worst. I ordered a simple cheeseburger with all the fixings but nothing fancy at all. I didn't even attempt to ask for anything special like a toasted bun or extra sauce- I just wanted a juicy delicious cheeseburger and fries like my friends here have raved about. When I got my order, after waiting what seemed like eternity (which I was primed would happen because they supposedly make everything fresh) there was NO BURGER IN THE BAG. I had to turn around and get back in the drive thru line as my fries were getting cold to get the actual burger I waited for. When they checked my receipt and then shared that my burger was sitting there but in another bag, I kind of scratched my head-- ok. I asked if I could get a fresh burger and they said it was fresh. Ok. I pulled into a space so I could try it right then instead of waiting for my 15 min drive home. Sadly, the burger was stone cold and the cheese was a cheese slice that was taken from the plastic wrapper and just thrown on the cold burger- no melted cheese over a burger that had been "grilled". The bun was ice cold. They could have tried to at least humor me and microwave it - Nope. Rubber cold texture. So disappointing!!! Suffice to say, I respect my friend having his favorite place (although I wonder which location he is going to!) and won't tarnish it by telling him what I experienced. Stopped in for breakfast today at 5am there was only one other customer in the place. Put in my order at 5:12am for 2 breakfast sandwiches and an orange juice. They said they would bring it to me. After about 10 mins I went back to the counter to check on my order. The kid said it will be ready in a few mins. He brought it out to me at 5:32am and the order was wrong. A 20 minute wait for 2 breakfast sandwiches with no one in the place is ridiculous !!! I went up with the order told them to give me my money back and let me get out of here. First time at a Whataburger. Walked there from hotel and went in and ordered 2 chicken sandwiches, 3 burgers, 5 fries, 5 drinks and a Dr. Pepper shake. The woman (Angie) rang up our order right and was wonderfully pleasant and nice. We were told it would be 10-15 for the food - no big deal even though it was not busy and there were many workers working. My fiancé and I got our drinks and waited. When the food came after 20 minutes we only had 1 chicken sandwich, 2 burgers, and 4 fries. We told another worker about the missing food and he took our receipt. We waited another 20 minutes for the missing food. When it came the worker told us that it was all in the bag, and the wonderful Angie threw in some cookies and pie for our trouble. My fiancé and I walked back to the hotel and began to distribute the food to my parents and my sister. To our frustration, the missing food that they spent 20 minutes making was wrong. We were still missing a burger and the chicken sandwich was not right at all, it was just a piece of grilled chicken on a bun with no sauce - not what we ordered. I let my family eat what we had since we had a flight cancelled on us earlier and no one had eaten. While they ate I called and spoke to the manager John who told me if I came back I could get a refund. So I walked back. When I entered, Angie looked at me with dismay and immediately knew that our order must have been wrong, and she promptly called for John without my asking. John asked for the receipt and I told him for the second time that the worker took it and never gave it back to which the worker admitted to John that he did not give it back. John could not pull up the order but I showed him the amount on my card transaction alert text message. ($61.34). He told me that he could only refund me for the missing sandwich and the wrong sandwich. I explained to him how it all went down and how our food was cold by the time I got it to my family since we had waited 40 minutes to get the right order. John told me there was nothing else he could do because I didn't have the receipt and refunded me for the 2 sandwiches which was nice but not the right thing to do in this instance. After this frustrating experience, wrong food, cold food, and poor management service, I am sorry to say that I will never go to a Whataburger again nor will I suggest it to anyone who asks. John's unhelpful nature, rude attitude, and frankly nonexistent management skills are why I will not return to a Whataburger. The rest of the employees were wonderful, especially Angie who should definitely be the manager instead of John. read more
