I typically don't give 5 star ratings to fast food places, but that's because very few really deliver a 5 star experience. But, there are exceptions and Yolanda and the team at Whataburger in Grapevine are EXCEPTIONAL! Upon walking in, it is undeniable that this is one of the most meticulously maintained and clean locations I have been to. It also becomes quickly clear that this place is full of down home Texas hospitality. Yolanda was welcoming, and really quarterbacked the service for all of the dining room guests. On to of working the counter, she worked the dining room. If we so much as hot out of our seat for anything, she was right there saying, "Boney what do you need, let me get it for you." That type of ownership of customer experience is rare in ANY business, but exceptionally rare in fast food. My Taquito was prepared fresh to order. It was absolutely delicious. Whataburger is a thing if you grew up in Texas! It will always get my love. I don't live in Texas anymore but love to come back and grab a burger when back home. Whataburgers are hearty, tasty burgers. I love the addition of the fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, & mustard. I always tend to get the jalapeño cheeseburger. Yum! I opted for the onion rings today. They are a bit sweet but crunchy and delicious. Fries are always great and while the fancy ketchup is great, the spicy ketchup is my favorite. Of course you can't go anywhere in Texas without getting your Sweet tea. Maybe it's the water but Texas tea is always the best. Cute decor. I'm not sure if it's because it's located right next to Bass Pro Shops but they have a outdoor scene with a fisher complete with boat and pole. Nice crew working. We were pleased. read more

Overall an okay place to eat. Nothin fancy. Not great. The service was curiously slow at the counter. No one was on station. Eventually someone came from the back to take my order. The food came quickly after that. I ordered Combo 1. The food arrived at the table twice as fast as the wait at the counter. The burger was sloppily assembled. What causes someone to just haphazardly slap the veggies on the burger? Who wants a pile of pickles, drowned in mustard? The fries were warmish and somewhat crispyish, a quick minute away from chewy and soggy. Nothing was complaint worthy, just not excellent. The restaurant was clean, but mostly empty, so it better be clean. My experience with Whataburger has been consistently lackluster for a long while. It's like a dull knife that still cuts, but not too well. They could be so much better, so very quickly, if they'd just sharpen their edge. read more

Well, he sure had it right because their ketchup and everything else was terrific. We walked over from our hotel and lunched on two Whataburger Junior meals -a single for my wife ($5.99) and a double for me ($6.99). The burgers come with mustard, lettuce, tomato and chopped onions. I added jalapenos for $0.60 and subbed out ketchup for the mustard. When you order, you get a number stand for your table and someone will bring out your order to you. So along with our burgers and fries came a tray with individual packets of ketchups and sauces your server will give you on demand. My lunch was terrific -a good simple basic double hamburger on a grilled roll with thin French Fries and a big cup to fill at the drink station. For under $15 bucks we had a terrific and very filling lunch. And yes, the Spicy Ketchup was really good! read more

A miracle has happened. I stopped for a Whataburger Jr meal today and realized that their fries have caught up to of not surpassed Mc D fries. This is a miracle especially considering their fries are far more healthy. I'm so excited bc I never liked anything at Mc D other than their fries. i come every week and they frequently miss items, come inside to get said items and minutes pass before i'm even acknowledged. and going through drive thru doesn't help they just make you pull forward so they can take 15+ mins to give you your food. all around never has been a good experience in the 5 years i've been coming here. you're best bet is just going to a different location all together. read more

2.5 Stars *** The burgers, fries, onion rings and spicy ketchup were very good. After hearing about Whataburger during my life but living where they were located we were excited to give them a try. Overall I thought it was a pretty good burger. When I add in the spicy ketchup it's somewhere I'd definitely crave in the future. Too bad they don't have them in Idaho. Final note. We waited for 40 minutes in the curbside spot outside the restaurant before they were ready to hand us much needed sustenance. Several cars were waiting just outside the drive-thru were just as frustrated. I'd read about how terrible the customer service and wait times were at this location but we rolled the dice anyway. We sure came up losing when it came to service. When I finally went in to see what the hell was happening, there were 9 people standing around moving in Slooow-Motion. It felt like aliens had taken over the Whataburger but they didn't finish the manual for both 1) how to act like a normal human being and 2) how to pretend to work in the fast food service industry. If there was an award for standing around and slowly stacking fry sleeves or complaining by the front counter about how your coworkers sound on the intercom, while telling all of them on the headset the trick to hating everyone but hiding it in your voice (I'm looking at you young lady who said she can sound "happy" in her voice while showing her apathetic horrible blank sneer) then they have Olympic level potential to be the worst service I've ever seen or experienced in 51 years. Who ever owns this Whataburger doesn't care about you, doesn't care about his store and must not care about his/her good name. My first trip to Texas has been great. So today I ended up buying a Hamburger from Whataburger here in Grapevine, TX and I must say it was way better than the one I had at the Dallas Love Airport which literally sucked! Location: Right next to Big Bass Pro along Hwy 26 here in beautiful Grapevine, TX with plenty of free parking available. Atmosphere: Just like any other fast food place but definitely cleaner. Food: I chose the Bacon Cheese Burger with jalapenos and lettuce plus pickles and tomatoes but no onions. The combo came with medium fries and a large coke. Overall a very enjoyable tasty Hamburger and I definitely would order it again. I probably would like to see the buns a little bit more toasted but the burger itself tasted fantastic. The fries which came with the combo were nice and crispy just like you would to expect them to be. Verdict: 3.5 Stars for cleanliness, fast service and reasonable priced food. We ate there last Friday night (3/7/24) and I knew there was a problem when the guy at the drive thru took our order. He was a jerk and asked "what do you want"? We told him and he said to drive up. We did and waited about 5 minutes at the window to pay for our food. They gave us our drinks without a straw and we waited (at the window) another 5 minutes when they finally gave us our food. My husband had to knock on the window so they'd come back and give us condiments. I had the chicken strip meal the chicken was so overcooked and tasted awful, no matter how much gravy you dipped it in. The fries and toast were cold. Basically a waste of $10 (yes that's how much it cost for this meal now). My husband's burger was cold and his onion rings were overcooked. I was disappointed because I told my husband this was a really good Whataburger (unlike the other one in Grapevine) and we learned a lesson. Eat somewhere else. The Whataburger location next to Bass Pro in Grapevine is an EPIC FAILURE. I wish Yelp offered ZERO STARS. While fast food franchises may look the same, it is the service that really makes or breaks the experience. And I don't know what in the world is going on at this location but it was the absolute WORST service I have received - EVER! Here's what happened. I arrived at 9:15 PM on a Wednesday night. I was the sixth car in line at the drive-thru, but I figured it will probably move fast. WAS I WRONG! The line barely moved at all - it took 35 MINUTES to get to the speaker to place my order, then another 10 MINUTES to drive all of 40 feet to get to the pick-up window. The girl working the window seemed completely disinterested in everything that was going on. She took my money, handed me my change and my drink, then disappeared. When she returned after another 10 MINUTES, there was no food order! She asked me to confirm it (which I did) then told me to pull up to the arrow in the parking lot - did she forget what I ordered? Did she not enter it into her computer? So I waited at the arrow for almost 15 MINUTES - no order came. And this wasn't for a complicated order. It was for a burger, fries and a drink. That's all. So after a total wait of well over ONE HOUR, I gave up any hope of having a late dinner. I pulled into the nearest parking spot, walked into the restaurant with my receipt and drink (which I had not drank from) and asked for my money back. The poor cashier didn't know what was going on, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came to the counter, looking like she was ready to go home and I told her it was completely unacceptable to wait for over an hour for a drive-thru order and asked for my money back. I gave her the receipt and she disappeared again. Several minutes later, she returned and gave me my cash back. This is the manager, but she looked like she didn't care at all - like this probably happens all the time. She offered no apology, or "we'll do better next time", not even a discount coupon for a future visit - NOTHING! Just "here's your money". In retrospect, I guess I should be glad I got that. Sure, I get hiring restaurant help is hard these days, but that didn't explain this complete failure. The kitchen was fully staffed, and I wasn't the only one complaining about slow orders. When something like this happens, there's either a major equipment failure (which there did not seem to be), or most likely it is due to BAD MANAGEMENT. Whoever owns this particular franchise needs to clean house and get rid of sloppy managers like this who allow this to happen. It is a bad reflection on the brand and on the individual franchise. Of course, I know Whataburger doesn't care one bit about my business, so saying I will not return won't matter to them. But I WILL tell everyone I know to avoid this location at all costs. Completely unexpected. This Grapevine location was nice and Clean ! We dined inside for dinner . The restaurant is decorated with a theme along the lines of bass pro . The mural on the wall features three dimensional art. We ordered two combo meals . And a order to go . They will customize your order , which is a reason we prefer coming here . The food was very fresh and hot . Whataburger has great Value . More importantly the food was delicious. Tonight the staff was friendly !! The place was busy , including a long line at the drive thru . I saw nothing but great attitudes . Speaking with a employee who told me her management team was nice to work with . Should have listened to my friend and not went here. It took about 30 min. but they were busy. Ordered triple cheeseburger combo with grilled onions and grilled jalapeños with no bun and side of gravy. The cup of gravy only was 1/3rd full. I usually get more onions and jalapenos when I order a burger on a bun. Forgot the cheese so they throw on 3 pieces cold cheese on 3 cold patties. Three Vegas Girls who have never been to whataburger walk in for lunch on Monday during a conference ... and came for lunch the next three days. The staff FIVE STAR (that includes their manager who was working all spots and stations in the restaurant). We were coming during busy hours and everyone was working their tails off. I had the bacon and cheese whataburger everyday and WOW. Another friend had the plan whataburger and I'm pretty sure was drooling it was so good. Another friend had the sweet and spicy and was raving to future Lyft drivers regarding it. The chocolate chip cookie for dessert is OUTSTANDING. The cinnamon roll should be shared with friend. I placed an order online for a spicy chicken sandwich meal and a hot honey butter chicken biscuit. The biscuit was just to see if they would give it to me but I did not expect it to be fulfilled since I ordered it after 11, I mean, it was available for ordering online and it allowed me to place the order. My colleague went to pick up the office orders, including mine, with my order confirmation in hand and I had a confirmation email and a charge to my card, but the employee told my colleague they did not receive my order. Additionally, my colleague told the employee what I ordered because the manager seemed to be offering to make it real quick but all they did was tell him they didn't receive the order. This was very frustrating! If Whataburger doesn't want to fulfill an order they just pretend they never received it?? I don't believe it! If your computer system is down, good customer service would have been to make the meal, especially since my colleague had my confirmation in hand. This place and its customer service is TERRIBLE!
