In-N-Out Burger - Travel Day Redemption Yesterday turned into one of those travel days where everything that could go sideways... did. We spent the morning finishing up a job and wrapped around 1:00 PM. From there it was straight to the Cleveland airport while trying to make flight reservations on the drive. Lunch? Not happening. Through TSA quickly, but then came the marathon walk to the gate. Houston was the same story -- another long trek between terminals while passing what felt like dozens of tempting places to eat. Unfortunately we had a short layover and no time to stop. By the time we landed in Dallas we were hungry, tired, and running on nothing but airplane snacks. Then came the next adventure... rental cars. None available. Finally Avis saved the day, but not before we stood outside in line waiting for cars to be cleaned and released to renters. Just when things couldn't get any stranger, the airport announced an evacuation alert. At this point we just looked at each other and laughed. But I had a plan. I told my traveling partner, "There's an In-N-Out about 10 minutes away once we finally get a car." Now that's motivation. We finally made the short drive and pulled into burger heaven. The drive-thru line was wrapped around the building (of course it was), so inside we went. No line! It was about 9:30 at night and the order was easy: * Double-Double Protein Style * Fries well done My buddy went classic with the Double-Double on the bun -- no shame there. One small disappointment... the shake machine was down. But a few minutes later the burgers arrived and all was forgiven. There isn't an In-N-Out anywhere in Oklahoma, so whenever I'm in Texas I take advantage. And after a day of airports, delays, missed meals, rental car chaos, and evacuation announcements... That burger tasted absolutely perfect. Of course the adventure wasn't over yet. We still had a three-hour drive home because tornado activity had temporarily shut down Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City. But at that point none of it mattered. Full bellies. Smiling faces. Happy ride home. Sometimes a great burger is exactly what the day needed. read more

I've been here 10 times and it slaps every single time. The food is always fresh and hot. Not one messed up order or anything other than excellent service from the employees. The ambiance is good and the line moves very quickly. My go to order is always French fries animal style, single cheeseburger (add regular and grilled onions), Neapolitan shake, extra large diet pink lemonade. So good. Call me crazy!!!! What is the first thing I do upon landing at the DFW airport? Yep, stopped in for a burger. I didn't grow up eating at In N Out, it was an acquired taste. What sold it for me was the grilled onions on the burger and how they blend in with the melted cheese. Fries are hard to beat too! This is the gold standard for fast food. Come in at any location and expect fresh food served quickly at a fair price. This location did not disappoint. Went for lunch yesterday. This is a new location for me. It was packed like all in n outs are but they moved quickly and gave me fresh food. Not much I can say. I love in n out and it never disappoints. I got the regular cheeseburger this time with grilled onions instead of the double double. And of course I got animal fries. I also tried the light pink lemonade for the first time and I enjoyed it. Has that slightly weird alternative sweetener taste but I enjoyed it. read more

I'll put this on the record, in ink, not pencil. I've had In-N-Out in countless cities, states, and even in Hell itself (a.k.a. Lake Havasu, AZ). One thing never changes: In-N-Out refuses to join the 21st century. No delivery apps, no online orders, no pickup. Nada. So of course, the lines are always biblical in length. Most locations at least try to tame the chaos with a few brave teenagers sent out into the drive-thru jungle, iPads in hand, taking orders before you even reach the speaker. It's not perfect, but it keeps things moving. But THIS location? Oh no, they're "special." (insert sarcastic jazz hands here). Their grand strategy is to let the line snake so far back it circles the parking lot like a boa constrictor choking the life out of efficiency itself. I was so excited to have a nice meal from in and out but everything went wrong. My dad went to go pick the food and it took forever with only about ten people in the restaurant. But most importantly the food was horrible. Usually in and out has great food but the fries tasted cold and hard like cardboard. They also forgot one of my key parts in my meal. The restaurant is spotless and sanitary, and a member of the staff is always looking to clean. The interior is cozy and comfortable, with a nostalgic and retro vibe. Be warned, during dinner it can get busy inside and out (drive through). 1 Star. Service - INO's well trained staff is friendly, courteous, and efficient. You place your order, get a number, and listen out as they make it fresh. Someone is always manning the station and will open another line if it gets busy. The staff makes you feel welcome and appreciated, and they always greet you with a smile. 1 Star. Food - INO has one of the best fast food burgers in town. Each burger is cooked to order, the patties are super juicy, and the cheese it perfectly melted on top. I prefer grilled onions and "mustard grilled" (they add mustard and grill it into the beef) with the spread on the slide. The toasted buns are spongy but hold everything together. And while the fries can be bland, I'll order Cheese Fries or add salt and pepper to the fries to add some flavor while dipping it into spread instead of ketchup. The best part? It's not going to break the bank! A Double-Double combo is about $10. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's my favorite burger. The drive thru wait was ridiculous last Friday. Having such a limited menu you would think the wait would be less. I could have just gone to Whataburger with less wait time, and Whataburger takes forever. I've had In and Out before, it's just ok. Definitely not worth the long wait. read more

For those who already know In-N-Out: This location has fast, friendly service. The food comes out fresh. It's super clean. In my visit, there wasample seating even during a lunch rush. If someone's unfamiliar with In-N-Out, while there are a lot of good burger chains, and while I'm not a west coast In-N-Out partisan who will insist that theirs are better than everyone else's, it's considerably less expensive than a Five Guys or any of its peers. And its burgers are much better than any of the cheaper chains. I have Californian friends who will insist that it's much better than Five Guys, Shake Shack, et al. I'm not sure that that's true. But, it's more in that league than in the Burger King league, and its prices are closer to BKs. It's definitely great food for the money. read more

As a California native living on the East Coast I couldn't help but want to go to In-N-Out on a recent trip to the Dallas metro. Overall the service here was good but the food here was SO salty when we ordered. Both the meat and the fries were salted to death--much more salty than any other time or location I'd visited. I don't think the HQ staff in Irvine, CA would be happy if they had tasted the insane sodium levels we encountered. Other than that though, it was a nice clean location and it was interesting to see the Texas rendition of a California classic. read more

I just got me a cheeseburger fries, and a root beer And I did get a cheeseburger with onions and already had tomatoes which I had forgot so that was a plus I don't compare let's say out of state, fast food, burger, joints to what I get in Georgia because I don't have it in Georgia. It's not fair to say it's better or worse than Wendy's or McDonald's or any other fast food it's different their own style. We ordered special sauce on the side and didn't get it in our order, but they were happy to give us it when we went back and requested. God I love In-N-Out. I was craving some of this recently so I came here on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy my lunch. I usually get a double double but I didn't want to be too unhealthy and I got a cheeseburger combo with animal fries. I do want to try the vegan version with the lettuce wrap one day but I couldn't resist the gluten today! In-N-Out's biggest selling point is that they are super quick. You can't order online; everything is old fashioned but the reason that it works is because they are confident about their speed. And 99.9% of the time -- they do successfully (or at least in my experience.) Unfortunately -- my most recent experience was not part of the 99.9%. They didn't seem super busy at all but my order took nearly 15 minutes to come out... I wasn't bothered but I just thought it was a little off as my orders have came out within 5 minutes of ordering everytime. Nevertheless, I had a fantastic meal. It tasted great and I got my extra sides of spread to make sure I was really grubbing out. Employees were friendly and everything was nearly perfect.
