Service is slow, order will likely be wrong and the food gets cold in a concerning amount of time. Not every experience is bad or unpleasant but it's def hit or miss. Check your order before leaving and make sure you're not starving or on a time limit and you should be good. read more

Got home and completely wrong order placing on line. I was the only person in the line ordering for the app. I called later to report to be nice and the person wasn't interested in who got the wrong order and said "I apologize" and just hung the phone up. Claims to be a 24 hour business. Sat behind a car in the drive-through for 10 minutes. Called the store and the worker said they're running behind but almost finished. Sat for another 10 minutes and left. I shouldn't have to wait in a drive through for 20 minutes and no one answer the drive through intercom. read more

Food took forever. I hate when they have people pull forward. I know it's to stop the timer as to how long it's taking them to get customers served. As a native Texan, whataburger was my go to. Until about 9 years ago... I have tried in here and there since then and never went back within the same year or two. Tonight it was the only thing open on my way home and I decided to stop in. Staff was very kind and polite, and the food is the best I've had from what's burger in the past 9 years! This is the best location I have tried since then and I'm actually happy with my food. My honey barbecue chicken strip sandwich didn't taste like old fryer oil or poisoned with salt. Everything was exactly as I had in high school and blew my expectations out of the water. Seriously I am so glad to live in Elgin and know that in a pinch this whataburger won't ruin my day/night. read more

Place an order online. Figure it's a busy night so I'll show up 5 minutes after it should be done. Pull up to drive through, we have your order. 20 minutes later still waiting in the drive through. I've seen rock formations form faster than this place try to push out a burger. read more

Why even have curbside? I ordered 20 minutes in advance and then sit there another ten minutes watching everyone in the drive through be served first. Meanwhile the employees can smoke outside but can't manage to bring the food. This and many other reasons make it the worst Whataburger ever. read more

Whataburger stowed my money they are thieves from online ordering ! NEVER ORDER ONLINE !!! So this is not for the Whataburger in store. This is for the online service I ordered . The meal that was 17.73 . The Whataburger in Elgin was taking too long even though I ordered it online I had to be at work so I told him I'd come back and get my money I was told I could not get my money in store that I had to get my money from the online service since I ordered online . This order was done on 9/20/2024. Called many many of times for the help service till this day December 6th 2024 I still have not received my money was told many times it was going to be escalated that way it would be done faster . I still have not received anything . So i called back again today was told it was going to be escalated once again. Today is 10/6/2024 today I spoke with the supervisor for online orders ,hopefully I will get my money but I'm not going to hold my breath. I will keep putting this message out there till I receive my money back . Service was nice. The person who took my order was really sweet. Unfortunately it took 20 minutes for my one entree and sides to come out and somehow everything was cold. Went to order breakfast in the second line. Was told it was closed and sorry for any inconvenience, but the line wasn't blocked off AT ALL. Then I couldn't leave, because they had both pickup lines blocked through. So not only did j not get to order, but I had to sit in the drive thru line trapped for ever. Glad to have another burger place in Elgin, but this place went downhill quickly after GO Arrived at 750pm for a mobile order pick up. Sat and watched 4 groups (and 2 employees) get their food first, but ordered after I arrived. Finally got up and asked what the deal was, and the order was brought out with no thank you and no apology. I'm pretty sure it was just sitting on the heat lamp and none of the staff back there cared to check. They were two busy messing around and not paying attention to the lobby.Not the experience I want after coming home from a 12 hour workday. Service at night is very poor. The crew is involved in a lot of horse play. They touch their hair and noses, I did not see any of them wash or sanitize. The customers are the last thing on their minds. My food was cold and when I told them about it, the response was yes it has been sitting for a while. They never offered to remake my food. I would not recommend eating here at night. I have been here 2 times and both visits were unpleasant. read more
