I just got back from LJS drive thru. Once again they forgot to give me part of my order. I work in Manor and the food options here are limited so I go to Elgin and LJS once every six weeks or so. This location never fails to mess the order up or forget to give me all of my food. I just got back to work and I am missing a pc of fish and my fries. This location is a disappointment. read more

Zero Stars. This place is a joke. Order rung up; no receipt provided. Told counter staff this isn't what I ordered; was told that is what I paid for. No attempt at customer service to fix the order. I should not even be giving them a one due to the experience I had with the manager there. She was trying to fight me. She went as far to quiting her management job. So thats what she told me when she went out side to tell me now whats up. I quit my job. So whats up . I told her oh no it's not that bad for you to be quitting your job over. Okay here it goes I went to Long John Silver's probably about a month ago I was waiting at the drive-thru they asked me to pull up. I was like ok fresh food . I was waiting for 20 something minutes that's a long time to be at a fast food waiting to get your food . So I went inside to see what was up . There was 1 just one person ahead of me . I asked for the the manager I have this on recording. The reason why I asked for the manager is because I never can get anything out of the regular employees working there so I asked for the manager . That was a mistake because the manager was very rude usually when I come to this Long John Silver's they are kind of rude. I've been here before when they have had mold in the soda fountain drinks spout. I putting my soda and you see this black long slime coming out mold all inside where you pour your drink out . I stopped going after that , but it says to give them about 6 months that maybe they might get new management or new employees . So I did that I waited probably over 6 months and I went back a couple of times good experience, but one night I went back, and I waited 22 minutes. I got out of my car went inside I asked for the manager she was so rude said this is Long John Silver's what do you expect this is how long we take . There was another lady waiting and she pointed that out she's been waiting longer than you the other lady said nothing at all. I told her this is a fast food restaurant it shouldn't be taking that long when there's only two people there, waiting 22 minutes to get your food. She started getting smart with me and I'm pretty sure they have the recording of that because I do. I told her you know what I said I have your attitude and I have you recorded . I did not record her actual face. I just had the phone recording due to the bad experiences I have with the managers there. Come on long johns pick better management. I wanted my money back but they said it will probably take a week or two for me to get it back in my card but that was due to my bank on how long it would take. I wasn't going to do that done that before and I never got my money back . So I stayed and waited . When I told her she was on record she lost it she lost it. Another employee had to come out and diffuse her going crazy because she said I hate being recorded again did not record her face just recorded our conversation. Another employee gave me my food. I went outside I couldn't find my key so I was looking for my keys that's when the manager came outside saying I quit my job now. WHAT'S UP NOW ! I told her oh no it wasn't that serious for her to quit her job. she continue to cuss and yell . NOW WHAT ? I quit my job now what I have this recorded too. I don't know if she actually did quit her job or if she just was gone for the rest of the night. She did come outside and this was no small lady. She did come outside she was coming to my car. Well she backed up real quick when she saw what I had because I'm not going to let nobody come up to me and try to beat me up. This manager was big and I don't mean fat she was thick but she was big she probably would have beaten the crap out of me. So I've been trying to call corporate. I did so several times with no results because you cannot get through. The corporate the number keeps saying to press a number to leave a message or something and it never let you do that, if so somebody would have called me by now .no one's ever called me so now I'm putting them on Yelp maybe I'll get through to them now. I know why they have such low reviews. Look sometimes the food is good , and I do love Long John Silver's but I can't go to this one anymore because I just don't want the drama I'm going to miss you all so much Long John Silver's. Who knows maybe I can go when I go to Round Rock or an Austin location , but not Elgin location . It says Elgin but to me it's closer to Manor. And again I do have the recordings of the inside and the outside argument when she came out again Long John Silver's do a better job on hiring managers because I want to go get me some Long John Silver's and that's the closest one to me. The rudest boy ever working. plus we asked for fresh cooked fish. it was hot but SO overcooked and greasy!!! I didn't get crumbles and went to counter and asked for some and was charged .27 for it. They were also burnt. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother trying this place! My second time trying. Never again!! read more

KFC/Long John's in a gas station. We placed our order at 1:09pm and did not receive our food until 1:48pm. We were not the only ones in the dining room who had waited over 30mins. The staff filled plenty of drive thru orders but ignored everyone in the dining room. When we finally received our order I asked for extra crumbs and catsup and the manager rolled her eyes, gave me a pissed off gesture with her hand. She did give me the crumbs, but I had to ask again for catsup. She walked away, then walked back by with no catsup. I finally had to ask another employee. When we got back on the road, they had forgot my fries. 40min for our food, rude management, missing items. The manager clearly does not have managerial skills. She was trying to do everything and not using the other 2 employees to make things run more smoothly. One employee was just taking orders at the drive thru and handing food out. The other was in back wandering back and forth looking like she didn't know what to do. A few times she kind of just swept the floor in the back. All the employees ignored the counter. read more

I pass through Elgin daily. The last time I went I ordered LJS. I always order the LJS food cooked to order, I was told this is the way they always cook it. Wel that is not true, it was old and dry and the chicken planks were so small, were talking little bit bigger than a finger small. I asked for crumbs and they tried to charge me. They also forgot some of my items and I had to turn around and then wait. This is not the first time this has happened but will be the last time for me. I will not pay for food that is old, over cooked (most of the time) or not worth the money I pay. LJS you need a serious overhaul and you need to get with your distributer on your products along with you cooks. Went tonight for Dinner haven't had it in a while so decided to go and ordered our food first the lady said they were out of hush puppies if we wanted biscuits ok fine, did t have fries ok fine, ordered Two of the two fish and six shrimp plate L1 I believe got home biscuits hard and dark brown obviously old or been out for awhile shrimp was dark brown obviously old or been out for awhile like shriveled up shrimp, called them and called them to let them know nothing No answer Never Again coming to this place I mean whats the holding time before you mark it down as waste and make fresh food! read more

Deborah needs to be put somewhere besides the drive thru until she is capable of giving customer service without an eye roll. Answering a simple question for a budget minded customer was far too much to ask of her. I could understand if she had a super long line but there was one car behind me. One star is too good. We ordered at the drive, got to the window the person had not put our order in then asked again because she did not enter it in. She never asked about sides, never gave us a receipt and it took 15 min before anyone came outside, they went to the wrong car at first, we had to yell at the young man and let him know we were first in line, only to find out only that part of our order was ready. After another 10 min it got to us. All I can say it was bad. The fish was over cooked like jerky and 90% of out order was potato wedges. If we had not left I would have demanded a refunded. They need to get their stuff together. Never again. read more

Want a root beer float, cheese curds, some Cod? uh, SORRY!! At this location those items are unavailable. The quality of the standard fish plank is inconsistent. Sometimes it's perfect. The rest of the time - beware! If it smells and tastes fishy it has begun to spoil. Mushy coating? Not cooked at the correct temperature. Super crunchy coating? The fish inside is kinda dry? It was cooked too long. The Hush Puppies are always good. The service is occasionally terrific, but too often it's mediocre. The management? Seemingly unconcerned. Ya know what? I don't care either. Hubby and I were driving from a basketball tournament in Dime Box to meet up with friends in downtown Austin, saw the LJS on side of 290 and did a u turn to go back. So glad we did! The really nice lady behind the counter was bagging fresh baked cookies and when hubby ordered fish and chicken combo, suggested a special they are having for $5 which includes drink and cookie. I got the special with shrimp and fish and coleslaw instead of fries. Food was hot, fresh, and so good!! Certainly too greasy to eat very often but what fun for a treat!! Love knowing we have a LJS so close to Bastrop! Will be returning, for sure! read more

I am a member of the email club for LJS and have used their coupons at this location several times. Yesterday my husband was told that they are really more of a KFC than a Long John Silver's and would not accept the coupon. I didn't think I would go back after they discontinued the fries that my son loved so much but a coupon for 20 pcs for $20 was the plan for dinner. Needless to say, he was so upset he left without purchasing ANYTHING... I am calling today to speak to a manager. read more

The traditionally crispy fish fillets were soggy and tasted like the bad french fries at the end of a shift. I miss the Long John's Silvery's crispy fish of the old days which always tasted fresh. This tasted like it was fried in old oil that had been used for too long. It needed replaced with new oil. read more
