I won't mention the hair I found in a taquito last year. I will not even base this rating on the extremely slow morning service which can test the patience of any good soul. No, today I am basing my rating on the fact that my order of bacon and egg taquitos came without bacon. An egg-only taquito is just plain sad. The receipt showed bacon so I drove back. Julio was a sport and had two more made with cheese added for free. He was super nice about it and I appreciated his apology. But, it's just another strike against this Whataburger location. This is the slowest Whataburger in the world. Expect to sit at least 15-20 minutes in the drive thru. Going inside isn't any faster. Unfortunately, this is the only Whataburger close to work. One thing I can say is that the food is always fresh and tasty. read more

Okay first, I have to mention that this restaurant chain is not located in the Southeast so, when I moved to Dallas and tasted a burger from this joint for the first time I WAS IN LOVE!!! Beef burgers just aren't that amazing back home unless you go to a specialty burger shop. Now for my review at this particular location. The first Whataburger I tasted came from the store just outside of DFW; it was amazing! My first burger at this location- not so much! I was almost too disappointed to return, but my roomy convinced me to give it another go. Suffice it to say, I've been back several more times and the chain has redeemed itself in my eyes. Shy of giving this restaurant 5 stars, I am sometimes not impressed with the amount of time that it takes to prepare my order, nor with the fact that my order was not fully correct on at least two separate occasions. My first visit to Texas and the first thing I did... tried my first Whataburger. Now anybody that reads my reviews knows how picky I am about my food I over complicated my order requiring that the bread be crispy on both sides no mustard and ketchup extra onion no pickle exactly the way I like it extra crispy fries I did not make this simple I topped it off with a vanilla shake within minutes they produce the hot fresh meal it was absolutely delicious they made it perfectly to my order with a customer friendly smile Texas did not disappoint!! The food is decent but the service is excruciatingly slooooooow, especially the drive thru. And they frequently screw up your order. Every time of the day expect a 10-20 minute wait at the minimum for your food, sometimes up to an hour late night or on the weekends. The staff here seem to have a consistent problem with fraternizing with the customers in the line compounding the issue. If there is adult supervision at this location, I have yet to see evidence of it. Save your time and go to Wendy's, Raising Cane's or an actual functional Whataburger down LBJ near Greenville. read more

My first time at this chain. The burger is good, above average, not a salt-bomb. The fries are ok...nothing spectacular. Get your food to go; avoid the dine-in experience. When you place an dine-in order, they give you a table tent with a number. You would think that they would bring the food to your table, but in this case, the employee hollered out my number, stood in front of the counter while the order-taker was telling her about some other customer's order. The men's room was out of paper towels. The sink was dirty enough that if it were in the food preparation area in that same condition, the health department would probably ding the place. read more

My experience was horrible they play loud music that has a lot of vulgar language on hip-hop and the service is horrible they do not care about what you need they are so rude when they talk to you about anything they have no self-respect for themselves and for their customers I just can't believe that a place like this where you work that you treat your customers like that even though you're there to serve them and satisfy their needs because they're paying for the food and sometimes the food is undercooked it is not packaged right they put no napkins in your bags they don't care about your necessities and they always get my orders wrong and there was once where I left my car keys and other valuable items there and never got them back and was on hold on the phone for 45 minutes just because she said that she was going to go check if they were there but honestly it does not take 45 minutes just to go check if my items or maybe still in the fast food restaurant and she never got back to me on the phone where I had to call again and they did not answer the phone after calling six times they kept hanging up on me and she finally answered the phone with a very rude tone and I said if I can speak to the manager and she said that she was a manager and that her name was Nunu.... As a well travelled businessman I have seen it all. I have recently dined in exotic locales such as New York C!ity, Los Angeles and Kansas City. To call me an authority on regional cuisine would be an understatement to say the least! Upon arriving at my hotel in Dallas I asked the bellman where he likes to get lunch (PRO TIP: always ask the bellman, not the concierge, as they are more honest and will open your eyes to great local cuisine). Raul told me to go to Whataburger. I didn't know what he was talking about and figured there was a language barrier, but he had his partner Leroy confirm and draw a small map for me. I gladly tipped each of these men for their information. I arrived at Whataburger and ordered a cheeseburger with mayo, onions and BBQ sauce (a first for me!). The burger was the best I have ever enjoyed and the combonation of mayo and BBQ sauce was a true Texas treat! I ate the first one so fast that I had to go back in line for round two. Upon compeleting number two I returned to the hotel with a burger each for Leroy and Raul. They seemed happy, but we're irked when I hugged them as my hands were filthy from the mayo/BBQ sauce mess. Oh well, I didn't get their uniforms too dirty, plus they got a burger each - just the way I like em. If you are subjected to a trip to Dallas I suggest finding this place. Simply the name Whataburger should earn any establishment a minimum of three stars. This particular location has earned two extra because of their attention to detail to cleanliness. At 8:30 in the morning, they assigned a kind man named Tyler to clean the air-conditioning vents; they were far from truly dirty but Tyler was on his ladder with spray bleach cleaning them and the surrounding area. On top of this, he interrupted my wife and I to be sure we were not bothered by the smell of the bleach. This alone would be enough to demonstrate Tyler's commitment to a job well done, but I saw him go a step further. After dropping his bleach spray bottle onto a table, he stopped, made an extra trip to the kitchen for table cleaner, and wiped the table clean. Pretty cool, eh? read more

This location was really hopping today with long lines at the counter and in the drive-through. Two employees were taking orders at the counter. The young gentleman who took our order was extremely polite and efficient. As we ate the always delicious Whataburgers and fries, we were asked three times by two different employees if there was anything else they could get for us. When my wife finally asked for another wrapper for a portion of her burger she intended to bring home, the employee asked if she would also like a sack and then hurried off the get both.Rarely would I take the time to comment on a fast food restaurant but the exceptional service provided by this location's employees merits comment. Probably tied in my mind with Dairy Queen as the quintessential Texas fast food restaurant. Neither are nearly as consistent in their food quality as the larger national chains but something about both of them are endearing. I would not recommend coming to this place anytime around 10pm-2am on Friday or Saturday because the line gets very long. They make the food by the order so the wait can be a little long, but it is well worth it.
