The fresh chunked onions and jalapenos take a normally good burger and elevate it. Not quite to the Thermosphere, but to the Mesosphere for sure. It has been scientifically proven that it's 79.187% better than In and Out. Science bro. Know what else is good? Their ketchup. Not the spicy one, but the regular one. The spicy is good, but the regular is damn good. Sure it contains high fructose corn syrup, but trust me on this. Put that container of ketchup on top of your drink and dip and drive. Thank me later. This Whataburger is right down the street from In and Out. It is open all the time. The staff are friendly and service is pretty quick. Plus the burgers are legit. Why are you still reading this? It's hard to believe how terrible this location has become. I swear over 50% of the orders from here are wrong or incomplete. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM THE APP. There was an older White man working the register, seemingly the manager on duty, who was basically yelling at this guy in line. Loud enough I could hear him in the restroom. It wasn't a pleasant or friendly voice, as if trying to help someone hard of hearing either... he was being condescending and had a very harsh tone. When I came out the old employee was then admonishing this man in line and then said he was yelling because he couldn't hear the guy "behind the mask"... which was a lie because I could hear the guy in line standing 6' away. He then gave the man in line a cup, and the lids are in clear view (and easily in cough zone with no barrier), and the man starts to reach for a lid so the old guy starts yelling at him again (saying for safety reasons he can't touch them). If safety is even important they wouldn't be out where an airborne disease could easily reach them. The bathroom was dirty, soap dispenser appeared broken and didn't have soap, and the sink was constantly dripping water. For someone so consumed with safety, it wasn't apparent outside of yelling at this one man in line. I love my Whataburger, but this location doesn't get my order correct half the time. Today for example...I ordered a #1 meal with cheese easy ketchup and easy mayonnaise. (You have to tell them easy or it's Swimming in it). As they were making my order I noticed the receipt said mustard not mayo and told the gal who took my order. Partially my fault for not opening everything up right then when they handed me the bag, but since I was going to be eating it at home I didn't want it to get cold. So naturally, when I get ready to eat I open up a burger with everything BUT the way I ordered it. I looked up the phone # here on Yelp and called them. Guy named Mike answered and said he was manager and he was sorry for mixup, and would make it right on my next visit. I guess we'll see. I was just in there tonight at around 9pm. The woman taking the order in the drive through sounded like she absolutely hates her job and was short tempered. I understand not liking where you work.. nobody on earth likes to work. You're not forced to work at a whataburger & everyone who works there and goes through the drive through this late has probably all had a long day. So I Walked in everyone was wearing mask and Gloves and the soda fountain was closed. They would refill the drinks for you. Whataburger is life, so writing a review where I just give a location three stars kind of makes me sad. I'm giving this place three stars because I have been here a few times, and most times it is a pleasant experience. The last time I was there, it was absolutely horrible... thus I'm giving it a review right in the middle. Most times I come here, the service is quick, the location is clean, and the employees are nice. I've ordered through the drive thru as well as inside, and it is usually a good experience. Good food as well, of course. The last time we were there, we went late at night. It was after midnight for sure, but we had eaten a small dinner, and we decided we would stop to get food on the way home. Bad choice. We got in the drive thru line, but after sitting here for quite some time and not moving... we decided we'd be better off going inside. We were wrong. Went inside, and the line was super long there too. That's okay with me. It was the weekend, and that's expected at most Whataburgers since they are open 24 hours. When we did get up to order, the gentleman behind the counter was not a happy camper. He was not about answering our questions (my girlfriend had a question about the chorizo burger). He didn't ask us if we wanted it "for here or to go", so I told him we would be having it there. He said "all orders are to go right now". I was confused by that, but we took our number and sat down. We found a clean table... that was hard. There was trash spilling out of trash cans and sitting on top where the trays go. No one who worked there seemed to mind. Anyway, we did get our food... to go. It was given to us in paper bags. Maybe they were out of trays. I'm not sure what happened. This happened with everyone in there. Some people had been waiting forever to get their orders... people who were there before us and didn't order much. It was very odd to see because that's not what you usually see. We probably would have been better off going to the Whataburger in McKinney. I'll remember that for next time. The thing that put it at A-OK is the food. Our food was still delicious. OK, with the caveat that this is a fast food burger place, not a gourmet place: This was an outstanding burger. I started with a small order of fries that was, surprisingly, very small (which is fine with me). They could have been a little warmer, but were crisp and tasty with Whataburger's famous ketchup. Moving on the burger, I had selected the Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger, featuring bacon, double patties, grilled onions, mustard, Monterrey Jack and American cheese, with sweet & spicy pepper sauce. It was served on the standard "big" bun, and was a sweet, meaty, cheesy delight! Crisp, bacon and juicy meat really made the sandwich. What has happened to Whataburger?? This location, in particular has gone off a steep cliff in the past year. We've been regulars there for 10 years. The family sold the majority of the company to a venture capitalist company in 2019 and that typically spells trouble. Shake machine broken for 2+ days (that should be a management priority what with the profit margin). Several days ago I tried to order a breakfast item at 10:45am and was told they weren't serving breakfast, so I went to McDonald's. My biggest complaint is there seems to be no accountable management there. The service and food at this location just keep going downhill. We often get mixed up orders or missing items, and the staff is not friendly. The latest mishap was that we went through the drive through and ordered a 3 piece chicken strip meal. When we arrived at home there were no chicken strips. My very patient husband drove all the way back to the restaurant, where they took the box, dumped TWO strips in on top of the already cold fries and toast, and told him that's all he can get. Thank goodness there are many more restaurants to choose from and other Whataburgers that hopefully will not follow in this one's downhill path. read more

Twice in 1 week I have ordered a "curbside " order that I had to go inside to pick up after waiting 5-10 minutes after the "ready by" time given when I entered my spot number . The restaurant was almost empty today. The red headed girl that used to be so pleasant seemed to be more interested in talking to a teenage boy about his day that delivering the order she had in hand for the gentleman that had been waiting when I arrived. First they forgot to gave me my hash browns. Then they gave me sausage instead of bacon. Their second drive thru was coned off and it just made a long line that made it hard for people to maneuver in the parking lot. My wife has told me about their lack of customer service before so there is somewhat of a trend happening here at this location on Stacy because the others are much better. This is ridiculous and the manager needs better trained staff and quality control procedures to ensure efficiency at this specific location. read more

Love Whataburger. I have truly missed going here. As another reviewer said, they need to set up in California. I was stationed out there, and the best burger there was In & Out. Come on, In & Out has made it here, why can't Whataburger go out there? Anyway, this particular location is the best of the best. Customer service is truly amazing. On one of my visits, I ordered the number 4 combo which is the jalapeno burger. I forgot to ask to make it a double. I didn't realize my mistake till I got the food. I approached the counter and asked if I could get another patty added; totally willing to pay extra for it. The manager took my burger and said don't worry about it. It was completely MY error, but they added the extra patty without even asking questions. I'll be coming here often. read more
