    Jerk chicken burrito

I tried the jerk chicken burrito today at the Chicago Daley Center where they had their food truck. The jerk chicken burrito consisted of some type of mixed cheese, onions, cilantro a jerk ranch and "whadda" sauce. The chicken was like a ground marinated chicken (think ground beef but chicken). For me, it tasted pretty good. The flavor is a bit different for me which is why I didn't say that it tasted great to me. It didn't taste like a traditional jerk flavor. However, I can definitely see why others would think that it's great. It cost $13.00. I actually think $13.00 is a relatively fair price. The burrito is a decent size.

Came to opening weekend of the brick and mortar of this food truck restaurant. This This waz a total accident but we are glad that we got to enjoy some of their food. Both my husband and I were satisfied with our meals. The jerk restaurant is really kind of cool in the way it is decorated and I am sure that once they get settled itll be a very vibrant place. On this evening The restaurant wasn't packed but it was starting to get more patrons. Which is a big accomplishment for a newly opened restaurant on Division! At the time we were at the restaurant they did not have their liquor license but they did partner with the Mexican Restaurant next door and we were able to get some cocktails with our meal. Our server and service in general was really nice. Patrick helped us out and informed us that he was a relative of the owner and that he would be working the bar in the future so we should come back to try some tasty drinks! This evening we ordered the chimichanga and the whatda jerk fries. Both were really guide I would say the only negative part of the fries is that they were not very hot. I was really hungry so I just ate it but normally it's something I probably would send back to the kitchen and ask for them to heat it up. Overall fries had good flavor and enjoyed my egg. I would recommend putting the egg on top versus burying the egg. I kinda forgot about until I found it under some chicken. My husband's chimichanga with jerk chicken was delicious and there are no complaints about that dish.

I saw them on Chicago's Best and had to have one!! The outer shell was super crunchy and flaky, and not soggy or dripping with grease. I was impressed bc they had wrapped it in foil and I thought it'd be soggy by the time I got home. There's definitely that kick of heat of the jerk sauce but not so much so that it's uncomfortable to eat. Loved the little pop of cilantro too! Would definitely eat another one. Like, now.

I would sell my soul for their chimichanga and jerk rolls! Ordered one yesterday and it was incredible. The best burrito type thing I've ever eaten in my life. Why aren't burritos always fried? TRY THE CHIMICHANGA ALREADY. I ordered another one today. The place is really cute during the day and has an outdoor patio too. Servers were nice. It was literally hot and ready in 15 minutes and we picked it up to bring home. The jerk rolls are soooo good too. The wings are good and fries are ok but I think the best things here are the chimichanga and jerk rolls hands down. Will be coming back multiple times!!!

Is this place ever open?? There are no business hours posted on their front door or website. I understand they are a food truck operation but should post their limited hours so customers will know when this location is open.

My group and I were able to take part of karaoke nights. Also. I'll check the website and noted that it was happy hour as well. I got that pretty early because I wanted to get a parking spot on the block which I did. I stayed parked there from about 5:45 to 10:00 at night and it cost me about $10. The menu here is pretty much composed of chicken items. A lot of items like the beef brisket sliders that in half and a couple drinks they didn't have either so that was disappointing cuz it's on the menu. It definitely needs to be removed. They do have a lot of specials like karaoke, night specials and Thursday night specials and happy hour specials so that's pretty cool. The drinks like the rum punch regular prices for $14 but on the happy hour menu it was seven and that's the cost of that actually. Should be 14. Would definitely be too much for the size pore. Nice atmosphere, black owned and operated food. Pretty much to order didn't come out fast but it was hot and fresh when you did receive the item I did something kind of like a taco bowl with head like jerk chicken on the top cilantro. I asked them to add lettuce and tomato on there for me and had cheese and underneath was fries. I was explained that it came with bacon and egg which I opted not to get. It was okay. My girlfriend got the chicken wings and I think she gave it from one to five a strong three. The true star of the evening was karaoke and the DJ or the host. He made it very interactive. Very likely that I will be coming back

Got the Family Meal (2 for $22). Red Stripe Jamaican beer. The sauce has a nice immediate kick as soon as you try it. Loved it!

The food was great, good portions for the price too! The sauce was amazing, it managed to be spicy and flavorful. The cashier was patient while we made up our minds. I recall them playing reggae on tv keeping up with the ambiance of course.

Food was really good ESPECIALLY THE small ass chicken wings, and the expensive ass Rum Punch $14 per small 8oz cup, but all must have been good since I gave them 5 stars. May have been the service - THANKS EMILY!

I've never had the food here and unfortunately, I won't be back. Me and a friend were here on a Saturday night and the service was just plain bad. When we walked in there was a cluster of ppl standing at the hosts stand and 2 hosts. No greeting or acknowledgment. When we made our way to the bar we were finally stopped by a host and seated. From there the water is $2, the server was slow, inattentive and got our first round of drinks wrong. When we tried to get her attention she ignored us till I screamed at her. It's too bad cause the food looks tasty but I'll never know.

The experience was better has a food truck, it took an hour just to get a drink. The Dj was cool, had the place jumping it was just hard to get any service. They only had wings, tenders or ribs and we ordered jerk wings (their jerk is a mango jerk not spicy). It took forever to get our order and the skin of the wings taste undercooked, couldn't finish it. I know they're understaffed however they shouldn't allow so many people inside if their experience will suffer, hopefully they get it together.

Had the pleasure of trying this food truck at the Taste of Chicago, where my sister and I had the jerk chicken tacos. They were unexpectedly good. The chicken was juicy and well cooked and seasoned. The jerk spice was spicy, yes, but more importantly it was flavorful. It all balanced together really well, and it was one of the best bites of the day. If I see this food truck out and about outside of the Taste, I'd definitely pay them a visit.

This food truck came to my office for lunch this week and I was really impressed! I had wings and tacos because YOLO and I can't decide which I liked more. The chicken marinade itself was spicy and flavorful, and the jerk sauce had more of a spicy-sweet taste, which surprised me but I was not mad about it. You can tell that the owners/workers care about the flavors. It was more expensive than I would have liked but what food truck isn't? I would definitely order from Whadda Jerk again if I come across their truck. I'm dying to try the egg rolls!!

This is easily one of my new favorites. They would have 5 Stars if they had an actual menu, reason being the place is so good it makes you not want to check your phone lbs. The waitresses and bartenders were cool and chill. The music here is great they also have a outside patio. Drinks are reasonably priced and they have Bottomless Mimosas 3pm-6pm for a very great price if you ask me. The food was excellent and lastly they have Karaoke nights 2 times out the week so be sure to definitely give them a chance. I will be back soon and very soon. Everything else is great nothing less from the prices of the food to the drinks.

I grabbed the 2 meat, 3 side special which included: stewed chicken, jerk chicken, rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. There's a solid amount of food and I'm going to be eating on this over the next two days. There's rice and peas were incredibly flavorful, moist and had a hint of spice. The stewed chicken's skin was falling off! That's how tender it was and I love anything with bell peppers and onions. The cabbage was solid with great crunch. Sometimes it can get too mushy, but this didn't. The plantains were just right!! Great palate cleanser as I transitioned to the jerk chicken! And the jerk chicken was a hit!!! Good amount of spice and flavor! And juicy! I also had extra jerk sauce on the side. Hmmmm I honestly enjoyed both chickens and would say if you're unsure of which to get, just get both... you'll definitely order from here again lol I ordered through uber eats and naturally was PRAYING that my order was correct and it was. I had never been to the brick-and-mortar location until now. I stopped in one Sunday afternoon to a restaurant that was not busy on the inside. I noticed there was a steady stream of individuals coming in for carryout. Nevertheless, I had a sit-down so that I could try a few items. I ordered the Belizean appetizer sampler. This came as panades, garnaches, and conch fritters. I liked the panades, which were corn patties stuffed with buffalo fish. They were nice and flavorful. The garnaches reminded me of Venezuelan tostadas. I think that what was a miss for this dish was the drizzle of ketchup. Since I stopped using condiments from grocery stores, the flavor of such tends to ruin dishes for me. I liked the conch fritters. I would order those by the bagful just to have for snacks. My main dish was the stew chicken with rice and beans and a side of plantains. Surprisingly, this was more like baked chicken. There was no hint of cumin, cloves, or garlic. There were no tomatoes. There wasn't a sauce or a gravy. There was flavor, of which I give them that, but the same stew that I've had in Belize and in my Belizean friends' home was not served here. It very well may be that the dish prepared here simply differs from that which I have had before. It wasn't a bad thing. Not everyone prepares every dish the same way.
