I have never had a nastier twist done to me than this theif. He deliberately took me for every dime he could. I had to unhook my trailer and hook it back up to get an oil change done, he charged me an outrageous amount extra. I would have and could have easily done that myself, but I thought they were just doing good friendly business and being courteous They should have let me know ahead of time they were going to charge me 28 dollars to hook my trailer and I did most the work They guy in the shop was being extremely rude when I asked him for a wrench. They also had some stupid excuse to charge me way more than he should for the oil change. The lady working the front desk was incredibly rude. She was unfriendly and unsmiling and just made me wait when the Phone when I was in the middle rang without saying a word. If your in Richmond Indiana, be sure to go Wetzel anyplace. Never move here. I'm in awe someone could treat their customers so badly. Wow.

We used the last bit of juice our battery had to drive to his shop. We got there and he realized we were an RV. "We don't work on RVs sorry" And that was that. We were stuck in their parking lot now... And they ignored us. No offering a warm waiting room for the children as we tried to figure it out. No pointing us in the right direction. No help in the slightest. We are a family of 5 and that was down right disappointing customer service. Point blank.

    I got a car from them. I had it for a year. I got a car from them I test drove it. It sounded great…read morethe day I bought it sounded horrible. They claim they put new brakes and tires on it. Well. Month later they sound like a school bus I'm like new brakes doesn't sound like that. I called tried to get it repaired they claim they can redo them but bs when it was time to do them. So I didn't give them the car. Two months past the car is ticking making awful noises and they said the car had noises come back so they can fix it. Well that's not the case now they never checked it out. My rotors were bad. My brakes were bad. Now my motor blown in it. It just shut off on me. They got it now siting in the lot. They wanted me to pay for a new motor and skip my car payments. I don't want the car at all. Like you guys sold me a lemon so why should I pay on this. They texted me bout the repairs not a call and saying they got in contact with the bank to defer payments for the repairs. They aren't getting another dime from me. I'm going to take it as a loss really. Nothing I can do about it. I'm glad my daughter wasn't with me when the motor went out.

We looked at a 2008 jeep patriot in blue and a ford escape. We test drove both and ended up loving the Jeep patriot. We were able to get financed for the vehicle within a few days and we drove it off the lot. Two weeks after purchasing the vehicle the rear left wheel bearing had been shot to pieces. $390 to repair. Two weeks after that the brakes started to shake violently when the peddle was pressed to the point I almost lost control of the vehicle. Come to find out that whoever had put on the rotors had over torqued the lug nuts and warped the rotors like they have never seen before. Brake pads ended up being ok but regardless another $100 to replace the rotors. Now most would call me a whiney brat at this point but this was only the beginning of what underlies this vehicle. Three weeks ago, I took my car in to get looked at because the rear end was ticking when I would accelerate and a loud pop sound came from the rear when driving on the highway. Come to find out the entire rear subframe of the car was so rusted out it had rotted and essentially fell out the car leaving one side hanging on. The subframe of a jeep patriot is what holds everything together and if that where to snap clean on the road before we pulled off to stop then me and my girlfriend would most likely flip the vehicle and died. Now you may be wondering how a car that was sold with financing was able to pass an inspection with a subframe that far rusted out to the point it was unsafe to drive on the road. Well the simple answer is the dealer lies about having an inspection on vehicles. I have searched and dug as far as I can to find any proof of an inspection and even tried to exercise my legal right to have a copy supplied to me from the dealer and they refused to provide me a copy. All in all, there was no inspection done on this vehicle before it was sold to me. Now if I were to take my car to a certified jeep dealer to have this fixed it would have cost me near $5300 to repair and that didn't include any control arms or tie rods that might have broke in the process. I ended up buying a used subframe for $200, found a mechanic willing to do it for $650 labor (which he did a great job btw), then had to replace 2 mount bolts for $15, and a rear differential insulator for $75. After the new subframe was in I had to pay for an alignment which cost me $100. Total for all the repairs it cost $1040. I called and offered a peaceful solution and asked them to cover the repairs as a fair gesture for selling me a vehicle in the condition that it was in and they explicitly refused. Doug Matheny, the owner, is a complete asshole and cussed and yelled at me when I was calmly trying to provide him a solution before escalating the situation. They demanded me to drive the car to their shop, which I couldn't do because the car was unsafe, and pay them $400 and supply my part that I had bought already. They refused to pay to tow the car that was currently down by Newport Kentucky which would have cost me an arm and leg to tow back to New Paris Ohio. In Conclusion do not ever buy a vehicle or have your car repaired at this shop because they will not only cheat you out of your money but will also put you in danger by selling you an unsafe vehicle off their lot without proper inspection.

We took it through a car wash well the drivers side door started pouring in water! I call tell the finance manager he said he would let Jon the salesman know since we had to bring it down already to get scratches and dents fixed and a full detail! Well let's just say we picked it back up the next day seal is not fixed since we double checked by running it through a car wash! They used green touch up paint for a sonic grey pearl car! The manager was very unprofessional along with the salesman that sold us the car. i told them my honest opinion that I went against everyone who told me do not buy from Wetzels And if your going to be a salesman he should have looked over the car and made sure it was clean and perfect as a young man was excited for his first car. Pretty sad the manager says we aren't getting a loaner he will call when the part is ready as he is walking inside with our salesman tells us have a nice ride home knowing that water can get in the car! Jaret the other young salesman gets a lubricant to take off writing they had Left on the head light from the first time we picked the car up! Mind you the sales manager and our salesman stand inside laughing at us. DO NOT BUY From the dodge Chrysler and Jeep lot! I will be getting ahold of the better business bureau! Also had no idea we had 3 days or 300 miles to return! Worst experience ever!

    Complete dealership misrepresentation of the 2016 Camaro 1SS that I purchased from them on June…read more19th, 2024. I specifically asked the sales representative at the time if the car had been in any accidents or if there was anything concerning on the Carfax which I did in front of witnesses. I was informed that there had been no accidents on the car and the Carfax was clean, besides when the car was purchased last, there was a discrepancy on the odometer therefore, Wetzel would be getting that fixed and would present me with a corrected Carfax as they didn't want me to have the one that had the error. Due to this error on the title with the odometer, it took Wetzel from June 19th to September before I received the corrected title. (There are 76 days that the title was held and according to Indiana law a dealership has 31 days to present a title) I drove to Wetzel on September 3rd to return the dealer plate and asked for the Carfax then which I was finally given and told it was clean and fixed, therefore I filed it away. Upon trying to sell the car, I discovered that the car had in fact been in an accident, was repossessed and had 9 owners in 8 years! (This had also been asked and we were told that they didn't know the amount of owners but that it had been traded in by a gentleman from Connersville). Had I known this, there is no way that I would have purchased the car and I only purchased the vehicle on the trust that their word of no accidents and the only issue on the Carfax was the odometer. We did meet with the Owner Nick Wetzel today, September 23rd, who told us he would not do anything to remedy the situation and defiantly would not take the car back, ended the conversation and walked away. All we were asking was for Nick Wetzel and Wetzel Chrysler Jeep Dodge to make it right with us and take the car back like this all never happened. With all of our documentation and the fact that the car was misrepresented, whether in ignorance or fraud, the dealer inducing us to act by promising the car was never in an accident and nothing to note regarding the vehicle or there is no way the deal would have been made. Be careful with this company and trust me, there are better car dealerships in Richmond that will be honest and take care of you like you should be taken care of when purchasing a vehicle.
