Ryan called and explained pricing for each option. I chose replacing the heater, since it was 8 years old and already out of warranty. And Brett S., with help from Caleb B. who came to assist, was able to complete the installation that same afternoon. Everyone was professional and courteous, their pricing was reasonable, and they didn't try and upsell other services in a pushy manner as I've experienced with others in the past. Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. Meanwhile late in the day someone from my Dad's church volunteered to come and look at the issue. The issue is fixed. I called the grateful plumber as soon as I had a chance , because of everything that is going on. The voice mail said that cancellations done in less than 24 hours would still require the service fee. I left a message and cancelled the appointment then I get a text that their service guy is on his way. I called back and talked with the owner I'm assuming and he said he is charging us a service fee anyway. That it was too late to call off his guys and that they had been holding this spot for me. It was a good install, just overpriced, which we can work out later for a repipe project I need done. Thanks Joshua. The definition of greedy service folks taking advantage of a situation. I was losing pressure in the house and I'm on a well. The technician replaced the pressure pump (which needed to be replaced) and added a whole house filter at my request. The job went decent and the technician did a pretty good job on the installation. However, the price I paid for the equipment installation was extremely overpriced before I realized. Also, the problem with the pressure wasn't resolved. After the technician came back the next day to troubleshoot, he believed there was a leak somewhere losing pressure, which was a reasonable assumption given the symptoms (and I had another plumber come out and verify, but he actually found the real issue). The technician checked everywhere and couldn't find a leak and tried to schedule a sonar person to locate it. This didn't sit well with me so I called a well expert (Dutton should quit advertising well service). The other plumber that came out instantly noticed 2 things wrong with the pressure tank installation, the tank was over charged with pressure at 50 psi and needed to be set to 38 psi to work correctly (this exaggerated my problem) and he installed a shut off valve on the incoming water line from the well to the pressure tank, and if someone were to ever use it, the would blow up the well pump. The real problem is that the well pump is dying and while it has some pressure, it's not enough to fill the pressure tank fast enough to maintain running water at a faucet. This guy told me what the problem was FOR FREE. Dutton came back out to troubleshoot their work and tried to charge me another 400 (which they will never get from me) and they were going to charge me more to fix the non existent leak AFTER I paid the sonar people another 400. So, I now have someone coming out to replace the well pump. The guy that came out and told me the issue for free, is going to get 3000 to replace the iron filter and water softener after they are done. Dutton quoted me FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS to replace just the iron filter. There are other companies who aren't just in it for the money. Call them.

These guys have CONSISTENTLY recommended extra charges, repairs, replacement for our units that were unnecessary. Once we were able to research and repair our a/c unit ourselves for less than $100 they they quoted over $500. Most recently, the tech gave a $2500 quote to repair our furnace unit but immediately said it wasn't worth it and set up for us to get quotes for them to replace it (those quotes were from $10-22k). After getting a second opinion (different company), it was repaired DURING the service call for $125! This tech said the unit was in great condition and simply needed the snow cleared from the intake pipe. The second tech assured us that we should get another 5-10 years from our furnace after Summer's has tried to get us to replace it consistently the last 2 years. This was the last straw and I cancelled the contract with Summer's

He worked quickly to find the issue, which was a bad capacitor in the outdoor unit, and was able to replace it with a new part he had on hand. Even with the holiday surcharge, the total cost was about what I expected, and Kirk was patient with me as he explained the cost breakdown. He was also very informative about what regular services they provide without being too pushy to sell something. Great services, great people!

We did not hear anything from him, so my husband called to get a follow up that Friday. He then tells us we need to pay in full and the part he told us he was going to order on Tuesday would not be ordered until Monday and it would take 4-5 days before it came in. Sir you could have told us this on Tuesday when I clearly asked all the necessary questions. So on a Friday afternoon we were scrambling trying to find someone to come out to start this process all over again. This incident put a bad taste in our mouth about how customers are treated. Thank God we were able to find someone who came out and fixed it.
