This was by far the strangest cleaning I've ever had. My…read moreappointment was for 2:00pm last Wednesday, I got there 5 minutes early, no one was at the desk but a man poked his head out and said hello which I appreciated. Then 3 girls trickled in separately who worked there, it's safe to say they were on lunch break, no worries. I wrote my name on the clipboard and continued to wait. Another patient walked in shortly after me. They called him back first which I didn't mind until I realized I was there for an hour before I got called back to the room. It seems there's only one dentist working which I also wouldn't have minded if they scheduled accordingly. Im finally in the room and one of the girls took my X- rays, she was friendly and efficient. The dentist finally made his way in and was completely unprepared. Him and his assistant are talking and he asks her for a "leaf" she said there isn't anymore, he said we ran out already? She said you're the only one that uses them so he said "it's OK just put that last one through sanitizer". A short time passes as he's fumbling around with the tools and equipment. He then proceeds to put the "leaf" in my mouth, wet and apparently used by a previous patient, let alone if it was even sanitized or not. He also put it in backwards which I thought was strange. There was a lot going on. I was waiting for a camera crew to come out like it was some kind of joke. Then he tried to upsell me on different services, mainly "whitening" I respectfully declined and he couldn't get me out of the chair fast enough. One of my bridges he didn't even floss, he said "well you floss at home right" I said yeah, he goes OK you're done and hands me my purse before I'm even out of the chair while I'm taking off the paper towel. I will say the girls were all friendly and considerate. I think he seemed extremely unprepared, rushed and not able to care for each Individual patient fully. I can't say that I will be back nor recommend this office anytime soon.

This review is for my experience with one particular receptionist who worked the front desk…read morecollecting fees on 2-28-22. I forgot to get her name. She just returned to work according to her. I had made an appointment to get a preventive filling done. At the time I made the appointment, I asked if the procedure was covered by my insurance because I wanted to get an estimate if it wasn't. I was told the procedure was covered-- I didn't think to get the name of the staff who told me this at the time. On 2-28-28, after my procedure was done , the above mentioned receptionist told me my Insurance only covers 50% percent and I'm responsible for the rest. In my surprise, I asked her why then was I told originally that the procedure was covered. At this point her tone was defensive and rude and the following are the excuses she gave me( paraphrasing): 1) I'm not the one who told you it's covered , I just came back to work. Shouldn't all staff be accurate and consistent when conveying fees to a patient? 2) Then she implied that I should have known that my insurance only covers 50% ? Part of the service of a dental office is to give a patient an estimation of any out of pocket fees not covered by the insurance beforehand. I never got any estimate because originally I was informed the procedure was covered. Basically, I was given inaccurate information and instead of taking responsibility, this particular receptionist tried to place the fault on me. I think Dr Tran is a good Dentist but this particular receptionist poorly represent him , his practice , and is losing patients for him . My advice is to get all treatment quotes on paper even if the front staff tell you ' it's Covered', get that noted on paper too!

I came in for a second opinion regarding an issue around an existing dental implant. Dr. Diep took the time to review my X-rays with me, point out the areas of concern, and explain everything in simple terms that were easy to understand. He also explained why he believed a new custom crown with better coverage could help protect and preserve my existing implant. What I appreciated most was how comfortable and confident I felt after speaking with him. I never felt rushed or pressured, and his recommendation made sense because he clearly showed me what he was seeing and why he was recommending that approach. After leaving another dental office feeling confused and uncertain, I left Dr. Diep's office feeling informed, reassured, and very comfortable with the treatment plan. I'm grateful for his clear communication, thoughtful approach, and wonderful staff. I would highly recommend him.

I first contacted Dr. Trieu & Preservation Dentistry after getting a treatment plan from another…read moredentist local to me. I hadn't been to the dentist in several years, so I expected that I would need some work. What caught me off guard was a plan approaching $9,000, including being told that one of my teeth needed to be pulled. I decided I wanted a second opinion before moving forward. I reached out to Dr. Trieu that same weekend, and he personally followed up with me, even on a Saturday evening. We had a good conversation before I was even his patient. One thing he emphasized from the beginning was trying to preserve natural teeth whenever reasonably possible instead of automatically moving toward the most invasive option. When I came into the office, he took his own X-rays and had a different assessment. The biggest concern was a very deep cavity getting close to the nerve. Rather than immediately extracting the tooth or going straight to a root canal, he explained that we could remove as much of the decay as possible, restore the tooth, and then give it some time to see how the nerve responded. If it didn't work, the root canal option would still be there. About a month and a half later, I'm glad we took that approach. For the first few weeks, I could occasionally feel a slight twinge and was hesitant to put much pressure on that tooth. Over time, though, it improved. By around the fifth or sixth week, I realized I really wasn't noticing it anymore. No pain, no real discomfort, and I could bite down normally without the sensation I had been concerned about. So far, the more conservative approach seems to have worked, and that is something I really appreciate. I also liked that he didn't rush to use all of my annual dental benefits at once. I still have other cavities that need attention, so the plan was to give this tooth some time first. If it continues doing well, we can use the rest of my benefits toward the other work and continue after my benefits reset. I was comfortable enough with my experience that I referred my wife to him as well. She had undergone a root canal at Upland Endodontix about a month and a half earlier and still needed her permanent crown after wearing a temporary. She saw Dr. Trieu about a week after my treatment, and she also had a very good experience. After being away from regular dental care for eight or nine years, I know I have some catching up to do. What I appreciate is feeling like there is a plan and that the goal is to preserve what can reasonably be preserved instead of jumping immediately to more aggressive treatment. Dr. Trieu has been knowledgeable, patient, accessible, and flexible throughout the process. I still have more work to get done, and I plan to continue coming back to Preservation Dentistry. I'm glad I decided to get a second opinion. So far, it has worked out very well for both me and my wife.
