This is a response to Dentist Ken Lim's comments on my previous message about leaving a broken drill bit at the root of my tooth and not telling me anything about it (read my previous message). He bailed out at the small claims court as the judge didn't know the difference between a "tooth", "root" or a "crown" and consequently decided that Dr. Kim didn't owe me anything. Dr. Kim's "specialist"s comments that "the broken piece would not cause the crack" is irrelevant since I was not claiming that the crack was caused by the broken piece. My claim is: The crack was caused during the drilling process! Response from Dental Board of California: "..the allegations if proven true only constitute simple negligence which is not a violation of the Dental Practice Act. Dr. Lim and receptionist Clarissa were an amazing breath of fresh air after just having a poor experience at a different dental office (being a cash patient and getting nickeled and dimed). Stay away! Dr. Lim did a root canal on one of my tooth. The tooth never felt OK with a strange feeling after the root canal. Subsequent examination at another dentist office reveals that Dr. Lim broke the drill bit and never told me neither about the incidence nor the possible complications associated with it. Now I have to get that tooth extracted and have an implant at a high cost and additional pain and time at dentist chairs. When I requested a refund for the work he did, Dr. Lim claims that I "insisted" for him to continue! What a joke explanation: A dentist referring the patient to a specialist and the patient refusing to go to the specialist but insisting on having the work done by the dentist! I had terrible tooth pain for a week and could not bare it anymore, they were able to fit me in that day and it turned out I needed a root canal and they performed the procedure right away to ease the pain! I have been a patient of Dr. Lim for the last 3 years. Have referred friends and neighbors to him. Until my last check-up.. Dr. Lim examined my teeth. He actually was trying to rock one of my tooth loose. I am thinking...what the heck?? Then he tells me tooth#14 has bone loss and I am going to give you a referral to go see my brother-who is a periodontist in Fashion Island for bone graft. This sounded serious. But...I was skeptical. What are the chances that all of sudden I have bone loss (with no symptoms) and your brother is a periodontist? Hello? Lucky for me...I made an appointment with another dentist and decided to go for second opinion. Called Lim's office-asking for them to email me my x-rays. The second dentist told me-you paid for them-they are yours. The audacity of the Dr. Lim's office-they told me there is a $25 charge to get your x-rays. I was so disgusted-I hung up on the girl. Anyway, the 2nd dentist took an x-ray, examined the tooth and declared- there is no bone lossl. The gum pocket was minimal. So...I am NEVER going back to Dr. Lim again. All he cares about is how to get your money. Between him and his brother-referring each other clients-they must have a whole gamut going on. Did not appreciate the dishonesty!!! read more

I have had a very clean wisdom teeth extraction that I didn't even have to use pain reliever during recovery. Bi-annual cleaning is consistent and thorough. Never would I have look at the mirror thinking he could have done better. He is great at communicating with you; addressing your needs and only your needs. You need options? He will give you options. I found Dr. Lim through my dental insurance. Set an appointment for a dental cleaning. The office was clean and comfortable. His dental assistant was very friendly and made sure that I felt welcomed. She did a great job contacting my insurance and making sure I knew what my insurance offered. During my visit they suggested to have my old fillings replaced, so I came back for that service. I'm a very hard to please patient. I switched dentists 3 times in 6 months before finding Dr. Lim. Unlike other dentist I've been to, there's no double booking, waiting, and the service is exceptional. I had braces before, but lost my retainers. So, my teeth slowly started moving and getting crooked again. As I started losing hope, I went to Dr. Lim to inquire about the Invisalign treatment.
