Just about the most pleasant experience I've ever had at the dentist! I came in for my annual cleaning, and the whole process of making the appointment, checking my insurance benefits, and coming in for the visit itself was so seamless. Usually, going to the dentist can be a pain but not this time :'). The staff here is so incredibly kind and friendly. Felicia and Clarissa are such gems and were really thorough as they were explaining everything and helping me get set up with paperwork and X-rays. I never felt confused or out of the loop with anything. Dr. Lim was also very nice and thorough, in both his cleaning and giving me his professional opinion on how much my bite has changed since my braces. I had a lot of questions but I really appreciated how much of his time he took to explain everything to me. I've been to a few dental offices in Irvine, and I think this one was my favorite so far. I have been going to Dr.Lim since last October when I had a cracked tooth and my normal dentist was not available. He's very honest and will let you know which options are available to you and give you a professional opinion. With Covid they aren't open every day and they do a great job spacing out appointments so you aren't running into other clients. He also provides a eye and nose mask during the procedure which I thought was super neat and made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure. He was super nice and came in on his day off to help me do the implant since that was the only day off I had. If you're looking for a new dentist would highly recommend giving them a ring. read more

I've had my entire upper and lower teeth capped with zirconium with Dr. Lim. Yes, all 28 of them (no wisdom teethes). To anyone who is seriously thinking about a crown or two, perhaps repairing cracked molars or even dreaming about that Hollywood smile, do yourself a huge favor and visit Dr. Lim. I had worked with Dr. Lim over several months, due to my schedule, and replaced my cracked molars, stained and miss-aligned teethes. I chose the zirconium crowns, as I discovered that they will last me longer than all other options, and chose to "bite-the-bullet", no pun intended, and replace all of them over four months time. After a year, I can honestly say that, my decision in selecting Dr. Lim was the best decision I could have made for myself. Dr, Lim is a fastidious perfectionist and most of all, takes a great pride in his work. His attention to detail and unapologetic expectation from himself as well as others he employs and commissions the work for the construction of his patient's crowns, were singularly impressive. In my case, the last minute fitting of a single crown of 28 crowns, wasn't satisfactory for Dr. Lim, who immediately called up the fabricator and had the crown re-done. Dr. Lim wasn't about to accept his work of art to an unsatisfactory fabrication of a single crown. That, I appreciated more than all other. Dr. Lim and Felicia are awesome! I was very unsatisfied with previous work done from my orthodontist, so I came here to fix my overbite. I'm so happy I found this office because Dr. Lim exceeded my expectations! Not only did he only fix my overbite, but he improved the shape of my teeth, their alignment, and my overall bite. Like many other yelpers have said, Dr. Lim IS A PERFECTIONIST. He was very detail-oriented and dedicated to giving me the perfect smile, always making sure that every unrefined edge of my teeth was polished . I have been a patient of Dr. Lim for the last 3 years. Have referred friends and neighbors to him. Until my last check-up.. Dr. Lim examined my teeth. He actually was trying to rock one of my tooth loose. I am thinking...what the heck?? Then he tells me tooth#14 has bone loss and I am going to give you a referral to go see my brother-who is a periodontist in Fashion Island for bone graft. This sounded serious. But...I was skeptical. What are the chances that all of sudden I have bone loss (with no symptoms) and your brother is a periodontist? Hello? Lucky for me...I made an appointment with another dentist and decided to go for second opinion. Called Lim's office-asking for them to email me my x-rays. The second dentist told me-you paid for them-they are yours. The audacity of the Dr. Lim's office-they told me there is a $25 charge to get your x-rays. I was so disgusted-I hung up on the girl. Anyway, the 2nd dentist took an x-ray, examined the tooth and declared- there is no bone lossl. The gum pocket was minimal. So...I am NEVER going back to Dr. Lim again. All he cares about is how to get your money. Between him and his brother-referring each other clients-they must have a whole gamut going on. Did not appreciate the dishonesty!!! read more

Dr. Lim and Felicia provided EXCELLENT care for my boyfriend who was in horrible pain and without a personal dentist at the time. We took a chance on him and have zero regrets. Felicia who runs the office is very kind and we really appreciated her having Dr. Lim come in on his day off to help us (which we didn't know was his day off at the time)...it was also very nice of Dr.Lim to do so. At the time my boyfriend didn't have insurance so we had to pay out-of-pocket, but the prices were very fair and the dental work provided was good. This will now be the dentist my boyfriend will use moving forward. He was very afraid of dentist from his past experiences, and gave Dr.Lim a little hard time in the beginning but now raves about him to everyone. I was very pleased with the outcome and love my straightened teeth! Let me start off by saying I've never given an establishment less than 4 stars, and I'm not a judgmental or picky Yelper. I came to Dr. Lim a year ago to get my wisdom teeth out. He extracted the easier teeth, and then worked on getting 1 out of 2 impacted teeth out. He ended up cutting the tooth in at least 6 pieces, which caused a lot of bleeding during recovery. (I woke up with a lot of blood on me while sleeping that night. Fun.) Dr. Lim recommended I do a crown lengthening procedure to help with the last tooth, which was even more impacted than the other one. He also told me I would need root canals for the teeth that were next to the impacted ones. I ended up paying almost $300 out of pocket for the crown lengthening--a procedure I would find out that I DIDN'T EVEN NEED. In addition, the prescription for my pain killers was written wrong, and the pharmacy couldn't fill my prescription. Thankfully, I got a second opinion where I found out not only that I didn't need root canals(which I luckily decided to wait on), but I also DIDN'T NEED THE CROWN LENGTHENING. $300 wasted. I felt like I'd been scammed. Needless to say, I was furious. On top of that, my new dentist was able to take out the last super impacted tooth WHOLE, which saved me a lot of pain and blood during recovery. Pros: 1) Office ladies are friendly and super caring. One of the ladies even offered to stay in the room with me because I was nervous about getting my wisdom teeth out. 2) Dr. Lim is flexible with scheduling. He scheduled me for a later appointment because of my work schedule even thought it meant going home over an hour later than usual. 3) I had my wisdom teeth extraction on a Friday, and Dr. Lim made sure to return my voicemails because of concerns with recovery. Dr. Lim and staff clearly care about patients, but I can't look past the money I was robbed of on an unnecessary procedure. read more

I have been coming here since 2002, and it takes me about an hour, sometimes an hour and a half depending on traffic and I will continue to make this commute because it is so worth it! Dr.Lim rules! Like most people I used to hate going to the dentist, and would avoid making appointments and going in general but not anymore. Dr.lim is very knowledgeable and will gladly answer any questions or concerns. He always makes sure I'm comfortable, before and even during the procedures. I've been using his services for some time now (some cavities and wisdom teeth extractions) and haven't run into any issues. Dr. Lim was nice and knows what to do for his patient. Unfortunately, his assistance has a lack of experience. I had a lot of pain while she took X-Ray. She put really big things into my mouse and asked me bite it. She did not know where it to be placed it and seem amateur. Also it is very pricey. They asked me pay almost $1000 for just one crown. I went to see Dr. Lim earlier this year because my old crown had chipped off while chewing something hard. After the x-rays he mentioned that my crowns were all very old and would need to get them replaced. I had a few root canals and crowns done about 20 years ago and had mistakenly thought that crowns were "forever" and that they didn't need to be replaced. Oh boy, was I wrong and I sure was glad that Dr. Lim was meticulous enough to let me know. When we eventually got around to opening up one of the crowns, most of my real tooth had decayed and were in real bad shape (not to mentioned it smelled bad). He showed me that much of my real tooth had decayed and I was in real danger of losing what was left of my real tooth. Dr. Lim was really concerned for the condition of my teeth and carefully explained to me how I can take care of my teeth one by one and helped me to create a plan to eventually replace all my old crowns. As he worked through my old crowns over several months, each tooth were in a very bad shape, but Dr. Lim cleaned them out and got me set up with new crowns. Dr. Lim is very knowledgable and flexible and his team work really well together. I'm glad I found Dr. Lim and I would recommend him to anyone, especially to people who have bad teeth like me with old crowns. Get them checked by Dr. Lim, people! read more

I was embarassed and disappointed that a bridge fell out of my mouth while eating and felt so naked without these teeth and could not eat. I came to Dr. Lim in hope for his help and he assured me that i would have the best esthetics to hopefully have this new bridge last longer than 6 years.
