I can't say enough great things about this office. I was referred by my dentist for a possible root canal and to say I was in pain was an understatement. I called on Thursday afternoon. The sweet girl at the front desk literally got me in the next morning. A few hours later I had a root canal. Dr. Lin is very kind and did a great job with this terrified patient. UPDATE: Dr. Lin and I spoke on the phone Feb 3, 2026 and he located my medical record. We agreed we will discuss a resolution at a future date after we exchange additional documentation with each other. I will update this post when appropriate based on new information. ORIGINAL REIVEW: I got my root canal here before my general dentist could place the crown. After the root canal I went back to the general dentist and upon taking X-rays told me the root canal was done improperly and was incomplete. I had to back to Dr. Lin for a second root canal on the same tooth. Upon going back the GP he said it's a little better but he's still not completely satisfied but would "probably be ok". Facing the reality of having to do a third root canal on the same tooth for "probably" not necessary, I did the crown after the 2nd root canal and hoped for the best. Flash forward about six years later and the same tooth got an abscess bleeding out to the gum. Ended up losing the tooth and had to get an implant suffering through more dental procedures and will end up costing almost $9,000 out of my own pocket for all the work to be done diagnosing and treating the problem with three different specialties and doctors. If the tooth couldn't be saved by Dr. Lin he had a duty to tell me that and then I could have gone to a different doctor or had the tooth pulled. Obviously I couldn't go back to Dr. Lin and this practice because he had already proven to me he is incompetent and can't be trusted. I would advise you to avoid this practice based on incompetence, failure at duty of care and the dangerously poor skill of the doctor. I'm filing the appropriate complaints with the licensing and insurance company. If it were up to me, this doctor would have his license revoked. read more

I needed a root canal retreated/restored originally done in 2006 by another endodontist at a completely different practice/location. I was able to schedule the consult and procedure very quickly and the entire process was very easy. Paperwork was done online. Dr Lin and staff were very professional and friendly. CT and X-rays done in office. Everything was so easy and convenient. I was impressed how quickly the procedure was and completely pain free. He and all staff were very caring, asked how I was doing many times throughout the procedure. I returned to work immediately after I left his office. I highly recommend this Endodontist. This was my 3rd root canal treatment. I've had my other two done elsewhere. First of all, Angel was super patient when helping me verify insurance benefits, took the time to explain coverage and how insurance works in general. Day before my treatment, she even called to give me detailed pre-op instructions on what to expect during the procedure so I could be informed on what to expect. This is something that I never experienced in the past, super helpful, thank you Angel! Dr Lin performed the procedure on my tooth, was gentle and professional, worked efficiently, and gave me extra anesthesia (which I also needed in the past) to keep me comfortable, and took the time to explain my condition both before and after treatment. Thank you Dr Lin! Post-op instruction was clear and concise as well, explained thoroughly by both Dr Lin and Angel, such as signs to look out for, when I can expect levels of discomfort to peak, what medications to take, etc. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr Lin and his team for all your root canal needs. I was referred to here my by retired favorite dentist Dr. Cooper to see Dr. Levene who is no longer here and was a great endodontist. I never go to anywhere else but this place for any of my root work. Dr. Max took over and continued working on my roots. He is exceptional at his job. Very grateful to have found this place. A retired dentist taught me to never let a dentist perform a root canal or any root work. A dentist can do a root canal, but not as efficient as an endodontist. You were well on your way to a 5 star review doc. Angel up front is first rate. You fit me in fast before my flight. Explained everything articulately and with patience. Seemed to do a good job on the root canal. I felt a loud clunk on my front teeth when you were working on me but you kept going without a word to me so I trusted my front teeth were ok. When I looked at them in the mirror in your office I let you know my front tooth got chipped. I was so disappointed and surprised at your response: Hands on hips and just repeating "I don't chip teeth". I patiently asked you to just file the chip down for me. You simply said " I don't like to file teeth" and laughed. Good for you doc. You didn't let this crazy lady on the take get a free file job out of ya. And that's how 5 stars rapidly deteriorates to 1. F- for accountability. I run my own business - if a client is asking for help about something they're not happy they think I've done and it wouldn't cost me anything more than a moment to fix it for them - I do it! The word "Root Canal" sounds painful and if you haven't had one - you are petrified. Yup. That was me when I first visited Dr. Lin. Let me tell you - ease up and believe me - Dr. Lin and his staff will take good care of you. During my first visit, I was so frightened that I prayed in my car (haven't prayed this hard in a long time). When I walked in - Angel greeted me with a warm welcome. Then, I met the other staff. She took my X-rays and addressed all the questions I had. Shortly, Dr. Lin came in. For some odd reason, I expected him to be insensitive - don't ask me why - but I just figured he would be mean being a specialist (Endodontist). I was completely WRONG. He was kind and spent the time to explain every detail of the procedure - I truly felt his genuineness. Fast forward one week - I received the root canal treatment. Warmest welcome and not a single exaggeration - I DID NOT feel any pain during the procedure. All the worry and stress was for nothing. Dr. Lin consistently checked on me to ensure I was okay during the procedure. He even played Mariah Carey's song during the procedure which helped pass the time. In the blink of an eye, the procedure was done. Afterwards, Dr. Lin thoughtfully explained all the post op care and personally walked me out the door. Yeah. I was touched. But more importantly, the pain from my abscessed tooth subsided and my tooth was saved. Root Canal is no fun - but if you need to get one, you must visit Pacific Endodontics. This review is long overdue, but I wanted to give the credit where credit is due. I was a problematic patient with a flared up infection in the root canal where my PREVIOUS dentist left a tool inside. Dr. Lin treated a root canal and was supremely gentle with anesthesia and the way he worked, and removed the particle. Unfortunately, after the procedure the infection really got worse, but doctor responded during the weekend and sent a pain killer and scheduled the first available appointment for me on Monday. It took 2 more visits to drain and heal the infection, but it was finally complete. I have to say that even though it was a nightmarish case of tooth infection, Dr. Lin treated me with utmost care, respect and understanding. He listened to all my questions and concerns (and trust me - there were many) and made sure that I was at ease. I recommend him for his professionalism, but more so for his excellent bedside manners - especially for people like me who are terrified of dental procedures. read more

I got my root canal done here, and the entire thing was completely painless. I didn't feel a thing! The staff were warm, friendly, and very helpful. I got evaluated and had my root canal done within the same hour by Dr. Lin, who did a masterful job of numbing me and quickly and thoroughly performing my root canal. On top of that, the price I paid was $435 cheaper than the quote I got from another endodontist. You can tell these are skilled and genuine people. Dr. Lin is hands down, an excellent Endodontist! He was referred to me by dentist after my crown came off and discovered that I needed a root canal. I never had a root canal before and of course this was my first. My only experience with root canals were from seeing tv shows and others being mortified about getting a root canal. Also I let my imagination and anxiety get the best of me. I was completely nervous, even thought that I might need sedation to get through, however I'm so glad to say that my nervousness was all for nothing and I had my root canal without any sedation. Dr. Lin thoroughly explained every process and he was so thorough. Him and his staff eased my anxiety and provided great professionalism and dental care. The entire process was pain free and I seriously could've taken a nap. It has been about two months since I had my root canal and I had no complications after the procedure. I was referred to Dr. Lin by my general dentist recently for a root canal. I have a ton of dental anxiety so I was super nervous as I'd never had one before. I was on a bit of a time crunch because I needed to get the work done before some upcoming travel. Dr. Lin's office was able to work with me to accommodate for my schedule and got me in right away. From the time I stepped into the office to the time I was in my car again was only maybe 2 hours - so that includes intake forms, x-rays, and the actual root canal procedure itself. The procedure was painless and all of the staff here was so supportive and kind. I had some concerns the next day and they were able to bring me in right away to ease my concerns. Hopefully I won't ever need to come back, but if I do have to have another root canal, I would definitely return here. read more

I received my quote prior to my appointment and I also received the paperwork I needed to fill out via email. Day of the appointment- went into the office about 5 minutes early handed over my paperwork and went in to see Dr. Lin. He asked a couple of questions. Explained the procedure. Asked if I had any questions and answered all of my questions. He was thorough with his explanations. His bedside manner is so welcoming. The process took about an hour. No pain or discomfort whatsoever! I almost fell asleep on the chair LOL! I was given ibuprofen before leaving the office, about 6 hours ago. I can feel the anesthesia is wearing off. I was in so much pain on a Friday afternoon and Pacific Endodontics was able to accommodate me within the hour. Root canals are the WORST, but if you have to get one done, this it the BEST place to go. I felt at ease with Dr. Lin. He was very professional and was great at walking you through what's going to happen. He showed me the x-rays and was clear about his plan of attack and my options. He kept checking up on how I was doing during the root canal and ensured I was as comfortable. Well, as comfortable as one could get given the circumstances. LOL. What I liked the best about Dr. Lin is his skill and his personalized approach to patient care. Mine was a bit of a tough case. That same tooth already went through a root canal, but the previous dentist cleared only 2 of the 4 roots. Dr. Lin went in, re-did whatever was done and finished it properly. He was very THOROUGH. I cannot stress that enough. He didn't cut corners. In addition, me being allergic to advil/motrin didn't help, either. So he followed up with me after each visit and anticipated and addressed my concerns. He even called in a prescription for me on a Saturday night because none of my pain meds were working. He then followed up with me again every day for a couple of days after that. You just can't beat that. Thanks, again Dr. Lin! This was the best experience I've ever had getting a root canal done. I had a painful tooth and finally made it in to see my Dentist. My Dentist stated I needed to be seen by Pacific Endodontics so his staff made a call and I went right over. The nice young ladies were expecting me and already had checked my insurance in anticipation of necessary treatment. Little did I know, I thought I was just there for a consultation but left within 2 hours having a successful root canal. This was my 3rd and by far the best root canal I've had. Dr. Lin is amazing! He took the time to clearly explain my issue, explain the process and got to work. Come to find out, I had a "hot tooth" which was extremely sensitive. He was very patient with me ensuring my tooth was numb prior to starting treatment. After multiple novacaine injections I thought for for sure I'd be numb for hours. Not so!! He knows exactly what he's doing. Never did my chin, tongue or face feel thick or numb. Just the affected tooth. AMAZING!! I didn't feel a thing. He sent me home with a prescription in case I had any pain over the next few days but I'm doing just fine! Dr. Lin and his staff are wonderful. Had an open and med procedure done at my dentist, but had severe pain in the days following. The dentist referred me to Dr. Lin at Pacific Endodontics who was willing to see me the same day. I had the most fantastic experience here! I had shown up to my regular dentist for a crown placement but it looked like I needed a root canal. Dr. Lin was one phone call away and was able to see me immediately!!! I was in incredible pain. He was able to see me in his office alone with our any other staff helping that day. He went above and beyond! I was so comfortable during my root canal that I fell asleep! The entire experience was smooth, and I was pain free for the first time in a week. THE BEST! The most caring dental team you can go to. Angel and the team is so thorough, everything always runs smoothly (on time or even early). I've never had to wait and I think that's just one of the many things they do to show you that they care and value your time. Dr. Lin is knowledgeable, patient, thorough and kind. He doesn't book appointments on top of one another. He gives you all the information and you can ask as many questions as you want. There's no rush or force. After each appointment, Angel will follow up to see how I'm doing. My experience at Pacific Endodontics was nothing short of AMAZING. I was desperate and in pain after seeing my regular dentist Saturday afternoon. He informed that I needed to see an endodontist to redo a root canal treatment on a tooth that was causing me so much pain I wanted to cry. But it was a Saturday afternoon and all the referral offices were closed/closing. I went home that night and desperately sent Yelp messages to all the endodontist offices in my area (thinking no one would get back to me until Monday). It was 8 pm on a Saturday night, so I was pleasantly shocked when Angel, the office manager at Pacific Endodontics, responded instantly. My mom doesn't even text me back that quickly!! She informed me that they had a full schedule on Monday but that they would take me in as an emergency at 4:45pm, since I was obviously in pain. I could tell right away that this practice truly cared for the well-being of their patients. Angel was so thorough, she sent me all the paperwork to fill out ahead of time and told me that they would call me if anything opened up earlier in the day. Monday morning came and I got a call at 9:45 am saying they had a cancellation and could see me right away... heck yeah! From the moment I walked in the door, the quality of service and care was above and beyond. Dr. Lin was so easy to talk to and instantly eased me fears as he went over each of his findings and recommendations for treatment. He was knowledgeable, kind and caring-- making sure I didn't have any questions before proceeding. Even though I was not a part of the original schedule that day, he still took his time and didn't try to rush the job to get me out of the chair. And, I don't get to say this often when referring to dental work, but I didn't feel a thing!!!! I could do root canals every day with Dr. Lin (okay, maybe not EVERY day.... but you get the idea). Easy peasy! Getting a call from Dr. Lin at 7 pm that night to see how I was doing was the icing on the cake and just proof that this is the best Endodontist in Orange County. First off.... I have to say that Dr. Levene is amazing!!! He is so GENTLE and PATIENT. I say this because I am a huge baby when it comes to any type of dentists (bad experience in the past). So I have to have a root canal.... I think the worst part of it is the shot for numbing. He waited till I was ready and was gentle giving the shot. Mind you, I still felt it but not as bad as I had worked it up in mind. April (asst) is super nice and personable, same with receptionist, Elsie.
