My review is not only for the business individually, but also in comparison to other similar Endodontic offices which I have visited. Dr. Um has provided me with such professional and quality care on my first visit, that I will definitely return and refer her to all my family and friends who have needs for endodontic care. I visited the Irvine office, it was clean and bright, her staffs were polite, pleasant and efficient throughout the whole visit. Insurance handling was a breeze. Dr. Um was professional, gentle and gave me all the information I needed in order to help me make the best treatment decision. Definitely earned my respect and a 5 stars recommendation. read more

Dr. Um and her staff were absolutely amazing! I had two root canals done and was really nervous and scared going into the procedures, but they made the entire experience so comfortable and stress-free. I didn't feel any pain at all, except for a little discomfort when the numbing anesthetic was placed, which was completely expected. Everyone was so kind, professional, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. I had such a great experience and would definitely recommend Dr. Um and her team to anyone needing a root canal. They were wonderful! read more

I highly recommend this Endodontic office and Dr Um's professionalism/skill. Their office was very accommodating with my senior parents and had excellent communication via email, text and calls. X-rays and post treatment on the tooth was explained very well. Their front desk administrator, Esther, is also very considerate and easy to work with. We had a root canal treatment done and there was no discomfort during and after the procedure. They also provided a follow up consultation just to make sure everything was done perfectly. Thank you for taking care of my parents and giving them such a comfortable experience! read more

I just had the first root canal I've ever had to get, and I was worried because of everything you hear about how awful they can be. I was blown away by how completely easy and literally painless the entire process was. Dr. Mary was both very friendly/relaxing, and clearly totally capable. Her staff was great, the equipment all felt super-modern. If you're afraid of getting a root canal, definitely go here. read more

There are many jokes about nothing being more painful than a root canal. Fortunately, Dr. Um and her amazing staff put them all to rest. I went in anticipating the need for as many as four, ended up getting only two. From walking through the door and meeting Esther to having the procedures, I felt valued and respected as a patient. Dr. Um was very thorough with explanations and alternatives. The experience couldn't have been better. I highly recommend them. read more

I have to say that Julie went out of her way for me. I was in considerable pain with a tricky root canal and I needed a prescription for pain meds. I work in Anaheim and drove to Irvine to pick up the prescription. I then drove back to Anaheim to fill it at my Kaiser pharmacy. The Dr. hadn't dated it and they wouldn't fill it. I was in a predicament because this was Friday before Memorial Day weekend. I was going to have to be in pain all weekend:( Julie got the Dr. to write another prescription and drove all the way from Irvine to Anaheim in Friday rush hour traffic to personally deliver it to me! Talk about awesome customer service! I cannot thank her enough! It is now Memorial Day and I am feeling much better but the last 2 days would have been miserable if it was't for Julie's kindness. Awesome customer service! Thank you Julie! read more

Today, I came in for a consultatation with Dr. Chen because my dentist said that I need to know if I need an apicoectomy done on my gums. Dr. Chen said with absolute certainty that it will not save my tooth and explained my other options. I highly recommend this office because they really care about your physical and financial well-being. THANK YOU DR. CHEN!!! read more

I waited two hours for my appointment . They should've called or texted me that they were running late or had me reschedule. The office manager kept saying 30 minutes more ...I should've just gone home but I wanted to get it over with. Luckily the root canal was affective And they gave me a slight discount. I would've appreciated some communication from the doctor during the root canal such as we're almost done or telling me what he's doing. It was an hour of hell. $975 Out of pocket after whatever smile saver covers, 20% read more

Ivy Endodontic Group - Endodontists Near Me - Irvine, California

I wish there was a way to give more stars! Went in to my primary dentist complaining of a toothache. They did an xray and said I'd need to either pull the tooth or get a root canal. I opted for a root canal, even though I figured it would be a while longer to get one scheduled for me and I'd have to suffer through a holiday weekend [at the very least] They gave Ivy Endodontic Group a call and they said if I rushed over there [at 3:30 pm!] they would be able to see me and perform my root canal. I got there and was greeted warmly by the staff, filled out my paperwork and was seen by Dr. Daniel Fife very quickly!!! A VERY short [painless!!!!!] time later, I was out the door! I cannot thank all of you enough! This must have been the quickest, least painful root canal in history! read more

Referred here by my general dentist office for root canal done. I did a consultation first and came back for the root canal. Front desk was really quick and great service. The place located in a tall business building that's easy to locate. This place does contract with different dental discount plan so that was great. I was able to saved a few hundreds through a discount plan. The office: VERY clean and well kept. There are magazines to entertained you while you wait but the waits are not long at all since they are by appointments only. When you're lead back to the room, everything is clean and up to date with all the high tech machines and instruments needed. The root canal procedure: I had dr. Hutchinson performed the procedure. He was very thorough and YOUNG for an endodontic lol. I was skeptical at first but he kept it very thorough and explains everything as he goes to make you comfortable in that chair. The procedure was an hour and I was surprised how painless it was. He numbed me first and went for it. I usually dread to go to the dentist because having someone looking in your mouth, nostril, and face is not a comfortable thing. But here they give you glasses to prevent any debris, a rubber mouth cover that only exposed the needed tooth which I love because let's be real, it's not easy having someone working on your mouth and have to look down your nostrils .. I don't know, it's a women thing for me ... I was in and out in an hour and the pain was gone thanks to anesthesia and relieving the tooth pressure. His assistant was really helpful, nice, and sweet. Definitely recommend this place. read more

Dr. Grant Hutchens is the best Endodontist ! He did an excellent job on my daughters root canal and was very professional and made her feel at ease. This was exceptional because my daughter has had a fear of the dentist since she was a little girl. I just also had a root canal done with Dr. Grant and it went very well! I would recommend him not only for his professionalism but for his kind and pleasant demeanor. read more

I was having pain in one of my teeth and they worked me in right away. Everyone who works at the office is very nice. Dr Jason Cho was great. He explained my options, allowed me to ask a lot of questions (which he then answered to my satisfaction), was very gentle throughout the exam and also during the procedure I selected. I never felt rushed, but rather felt that he would spend as much time as I needed during my visits. The office is sparkling clean (I know this should be a given, but have visited other offices that were not), they seem to have all the latest equipment, and he seems to be up to date on all the latest procedures/treatments. Plus he seems like a genuinely good guy. I would highly recommend Ivy Endodontic Group to family and friends, and would return to them if I needed any other endodontic work done. read more

I am a real Dental Chicken and so happy I was referred to Dr. Kim's office by my primary dentist. I had a cavity that turned into a need for a root-canal and I had heard so many terrible stories about the pain of that procedure I was scared to address it. When the pain was too much to bear, I finally went to Dr. Kim at the Ivy Endodontic Group Irvine office and - he was brilliant! Very kind and explained what he was going to do and the gentle care he and his assistant extended during the procedure, resulted in very light barely there needle pain for the numbness and a very thorough job of addressing the decay in my tooth's' root. They had excellent tools/ techniques that made the ridding of excess salvia a painless and comfortable experience. They even had a safety measure of 'raising my left hand slightly' if the process became too hard to swallow- literally. The technician assisting was just as kind and compassionate. What a great team and office! Clean on time and friendly. I highly recommend them and I will use them again if I ever need another root canal. THANK YOU DR KIM AND YOUR STAFF. You are a GREAT Dentist and office!! - Sincerely, Sharon Semper 11/2021 read more

Dr. Plaitano has restored my faith in American Dentistry. After seeing 3 dentists about an intermittent pain in two teeth that had recently been crowned by a primary dentist, none of whom were able to diagnose the problem, he knew what it was immediately. His first course of action was to prescribe medication - unfortunately this didn`t work, as he suspected. He then did a root canal. I can only say that, in 50 years of going to dentists, I would rate him as #1 !!!! Dr Plaitano is a wonderfully skilled, sensitive and compassionate man. If you need work I suggest you go to him. You will be really glad you did! I only wish he did all phases of dentistry! read more

Worst root canal ever! I've always had soft teeth and have had many root canals. This was by far, the worst! The Dr who saw me wasn't even on the list of the Ivy group dr on prescription paper, and the assistant was clearly new, since right after she put the rubber mask on my face, she bragged to the other assistant "I did good huh?" as if this was her first time. I started getting sever headache in the middle of it, and just got worse and worse. Then this newbie assistant was trying to take my xray, and telling me, who's numb from novacane, to "bite down". What kind of idiot will tell the numb person to bite down?! When i told her i can't tell that I'm biting down, she told me to "calm down." In the end, this Dr can't even prescribe me real medication for the pain, and try to tell me to take some over the counter stuff. I will never come back to this place again, and won't trust any dentist who'll recommend this place. read more
