Friends, if you ever need a 5-star endodontist, I strongly recommend Dr. Ida's office. First, the whole office is so clean and inviting. When I arrived, I was greeted by Linda who, every time I've been there, greets you with warmth and a smile. Before my root canal, I was a bit nervous but she made me feel quite at ease. Jasmine, the assistant was very friendly as well. Now, Dr. Ida, I can't stress enough how knowledgeable, kind, and gentle he is! He makes you feel at ease - I even dozed off a bit during the procedure and when it was over, I haven't felt so rested! I didn't have to squeeze my stress ball that I brought with me just in case! No one wants to get a root canal but if you ever have to, I urge you to go see Dr. Ida! ZERO pain, I promise!! read more

He's like a mechanic where you don't want you car to be repaired again. I had a root canal done by him and returned back the following day with the the tooth that I had a root canal aching. He examined it and he told me that he will do a different procedure but I have to pay him again!!! If that's how this dentist will operate who's going to come to him or refer him to others. A complete jerk! read more

It is no wonder that many dental professionals, including myself, utilize Dr Ida's endodontic expertise when referring their patients, in addition to their own family and themselves. At first, when you contact Dr. Ida's office, his receptionist will ask you a few important questions, gather some initial information, explain the process for obtaining an appointment, and explain the fee upfront. You will be asked to register your pertinent information, health, and insurance online. This needs to be done within 24 hours of initial contact. This may seem off-putting at first, but it is clear evidence of the thoroughness and wise caution that Dr Ida's office must take for clarity, transparency, health, and safety. It is a preamble for what one can expect at every turn in his practice. Dr. Ida's office is spotless, timely, extremely well staffed, and up to date with the latest equipment. But most important: Dr Ida is genuine. Dr Ida is kind. Dr Ida is gentle. I have been a hygienist for 45 years, and I had heard how good Dr Ida was. That is why I chose to go to him when I needed a root canal myself. My husband had already told me all about his own great experiences at Dr Ida's, but I sure found out the whole truth on my own. His two dental assistants work with him in perfect synchrony. His front desk receptionist, Linda, is thorough and charming. His office sterilization practices and health precautions are top notch. My case was a very difficult case because my three roots had such tiny canals, they were the diameter of a hair. One of my roots made a 90 degree turn which is almost impossible to do without breaking off a tiny instrument inside the canal. His countenance is calming, his injections are painless, and his attention to detail and perfection is remarkable. I also really love his cutting edge CT scanner. I tell everyone that I care about to go to Dr Ida for their endodontics. All these nice compliments are genuine. I went to USC, the rival school to Dr Ida's UCLA. So you know this is real. Sincerely, Barbara Fox read more

Dr. Ida and staff are awesome! Juliette, Sandy, Anuma & Linda were friendly and helpful. I'm so glad I was referred here by my primary dentist. Dr. Ida is a great dentist! He worked on a root canal of tooth #8 for me, seriously the best. Every visit here was great, the staff was welcoming and made me feel comfortable. The numbing was probably the best part! It was not an injection, it was some sort of gel technology that was painless! I appreciate Dr. Ida going through and explaining the process and the follow up I should do. I ended up doing a root canal & internal bleaching here. I walked out of there so happy & grateful!! I could not thank him and the staff enough for the major confidence boost! Everything was affordable and so worth it. Tooth and bleaching is going strong months later. read more

As much as I wish a Root Canal on anyone, I would recommend no other Orthodontist than Dr. Ida and team. Their bedside manner is remarkable, especially for highly nervous patients. He takes the time to fully explain everything, and has an incredible attention to detail. Even though my general dentist recommended Dr. Ida just look at tooth #15 and #30, he was gracious enough to advise on other teeth as well. We concluded his scope of work being on #30 and he did a very precise, careful, and attentive job during my actual root canal. 5 huge stars for his demeanor, kindness, bedside manner, and patience in explaining things in a way I could grasp. read more

I've gone to Dr Rodney Ida three times now. Today was my third time and I told myself that I had to write a great 5 star review, because he is a great Endodontist. He takes time to listen Takes time to review the issue and provides the best treatment. He cares and is a quality doctor! He is not the type of doctor to simply recommend procedures for his own benefit!!! I hope not to have anymore tooth issues, but if I do, I definitely know where to go!! read more

While visiting from out of town, I cracked a tooth and found myself in need of an emergency root canal. Everyone at Dr. Ida's practice was exceptional. Linda work hard to obtain my insurance details, ensure I was in-network and provided a detailed explanation of my insurance coverage and out of pocket costs. Dr. Ida's assistant was caring and compassionate all while executing every task with precision and confidence. Dr. Ida went above and beyond to accommodate my physical limitations to ensure that I was comfortable and understood how the proceedure was progressing. His knowledge and talent allowed me to breathe a huge sigh of relief that my damaged tooth is on the road to recovery. During the procedure, I never had any pain and consistently felt everyone involved in my treatment was authentically invested in the outcomes of the care they were providing. I'm sincerely grateful I was referred to Dr. Ida. read more

This was the most comfortable root canal I've ever had. I actually fell asleep for part of it. Dr. Ida is a true master of his craft.

Their office really clean. They were informative about what to expect for sedating me for a tour canal. They followed up with how I was feeling 24 hrs after my procedure. Staff is friendly. read more

When you call and they check your insurance they make an appointment and you think it's all good. What they didn't state is that the Dr is out of network and then the same day ask you for $350 for consult and CT Scans. They should be upfront and tell you that before they make appointment and definately before you show up for the appointment. They expect the 350.00 payment the day of your visit. Also, if he's out of network then you will have extra charges for the root canal that would be covered by an in network dentist. Being new to this situation was very surprised by extra out of pocket costs and later found out when EOBs showed up showing him out of network. Pain was excessive after root canal and took two weeks to feel better. I followed Dr Ida instructions for pain meds but it was pretty unbearable with many sleepless nights. I read in another review that someone was sedated prior to their root canal. I was told they don't do that. Procedure is 1 1/2 hours. Would be nice to have headphones to drown out the noise of the procedure and to relax. There is wedge they put in your mouth and a cloth put in the mouth to cover all of the mouth except for the side of your mouth the Dr works on. This felt claustrophobic like was suffocating. I realize that is the procedure but felt like it was really a LOT to endure. I was glad he took his time instead of rushing through a procedure like this and it was a successful procedure. read more

Dr. Ida and his team are fantastic!!! I recently had work done here, and I was SO impressed by the level of care they provided. Dr. Ida was kind, gentle, thorough, and explained everything clearly. He regularly checked in with me throughout the procedure to ensure that I was comfortable. It was also clear that Dr. Ida keeps up with the latest research and advances in the field. (I'm still amazed that the injection process was completely pain-free due to the electronic syringe he used, and I wish EVERY dentist used it!) Linda (at the front desk) was incredibly welcoming and hospitable. She patiently answered all of my questions and took care to ensure that I felt comfortable. Juliette and Sandy (dental assistants) were also kind, caring, and helpful. I felt like I was in great hands the entire time! Additionally, I was very impressed by the COVID safety precautions that the office has in place. Dr. Ida and his dental assistants wear N95 masks, and they have air purifiers in each of the patient rooms. Additionally, they ask patients to do an oral rinse when they first arrive which reduces the viral load. I also really appreciated that Dr. Ida only works on one patient at a time and that they stagger the rooms that the treatments are done in. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Ida's office, and I can't recommend it highly enough!!! read more

I was recommended to go to Dr. Ida by my dentist Dr. Dornan, My tooth was apparently had a root canal before and the dentist put a silver point in the root. I didn't even know this. Some of the roots were not done properly too. Dr. Ida explained that this method was not done here in the US. I could not remember who did my root canal before. Probably it was done years ago in the country I was from. Who knows? Anyway, it has to be redone since I need a new crown. Dr. Ida was gentle and informative. The way he did the local anesthetic was amazing. I felt a small pinch twice, one on my cheek and one on the roof of my mouth. That's it. The rest is the same as other root canal processes, a lot of pressure and drilling. The process took 1.5 hours. When I got out of the office I didn't feel pain. My husband said that he has never seen me looks so happy after a root canal. I had a few of those. Even a few hours later I didn't feel pain. I cannot thank him enough for removing the silver point and fix the previous root canal. I would rather keep my tooth than getting an implant. I have a few implants and the cleaning of them are not as easy as my real teeth. It isn't that I love root canal but if I need to have one I will go back to this office. read more

Dr. Rodney Ida is amazing!!! I'm shocked there are any negative reviews and have to question those patients sanity, as Dr. Ida is the only endodontists my family and I will go to. My father, mother, sister and I have all had root canals performed by Dr. Ida (we clearly have great family genetics) and we have all had wonderful experiences! I just had one done yesterday and have yet to be in any pain. I am a wimp when it comes to dental work and fear needles. Dr. Ida answered all of my questions and is a magician with applying the anesthetic. He was so gentle, I was never in pain or uncomfortable. Linda (front of office) & Sandy (his dental assistant) were so kind and helpful with scheduling my appointments, helping with insurance, performing my x-rays, and calming my anxious nerves. They followed up after my appointment to check-in as well. You will not find a more professional and kind staff. Pricing is absolutely competitive. Even if someone else was slightly less expensive, I would pay the difference to go to Dr. Ida because his skill level is unmatched. While I hope I don't have to see them anytime in the near future, I know I will be in excellent hands if I do! read more

Very kind and Dr. Ida takes time to explain. Also was very accommodating to a last minute schedule change

Dr. Ida is very thorough as well as personable. He is thorough by means of explaining the procedure so that we could understand it. The fact that Dr. Ida answered my 84 year old mother's many many questions shows his patience. He is also very accommodating in that after our initial consult, he was able to see my mother the next day for her needed procedure. The office staff Linda, the front office receptionist was also very thorough as she explained what needed to be completed before we went for the consult. She emailed the necessary paper work and followed up with a phone call to me to see if I had questions. She explained what to expect monetary, so there were no surprises. She even followed up the next day after the procedure to make sure my mother was doing well. A nice added touch! Ownewma, Dr. Ida's assistant was very kind, made sure my mother was comfortable and was hospitable. She offered my mother water and aided her walk to the restroom. The office is clean and decorated for the holidays! read more

Dr. Ida and his staff are amazing. I had an infected tooth that my regular dentist believed needed a root canal. I was referred to Dr. Ida, and he and his staff stayed late that evening to see me. He was thorough, kind and clear in explaining everything to me. When I came back for the root canal, he and his assistant were on time, patient, kind and did an excellent job. He was careful in explaining the procedure, checking on me as it was happening and in explaining the follow-up process. I 100% recommend him and the rest of his team. read more

Early in June I was experiencing some tooth pain on a molar. I was referred to Dr. Ida and had my initial consultation. Upon results of X-rays and testing the tooth it was determined the tooth would need a root canal. I could not recommend Dr. Ida and his team of professionals more. Linda at the front desk is the most helpful with insurance and forms. The assistant is gentle and kind as she prepares you for your procedure, and I couldn't say more about Dr. Ida, himself. He not only preformed the procedure but he coached me through my nervousness. Reminded me to breathe slowly and to let him know if anything bothered me along the way. Throughout the root canal I felt ZERO pain ! I was at such ease in his chair I could have fallen asleep. Honestly. Overall, anyone needing endodontist work done, please consider Dr. Ida and his team. read more
