Dr. Ida is an exceptional Endodontist and you know that you are in good hands the moment you meet him. While I wasn't thrilled to get a root canal after finding out I had a tooth fracture, Dr. Ida made sure that I was comfortable and pain free throughout the root canal procedure. All my life, Ive been trying to avoid root canals because of all the stories I hear about how painful it is. BUT, Dr. Ida made my root canal procedure such a positive experience. Dr. Ida is an outstanding orthodontist. He educates his colleagues in dental conferences, and receives referrals from dentists across Orange County. Despite the reviews saying otherwise, his fees are competitive. He is extremely knowledgeable and happy to explain the images his staff has produced and the reasons for the procedures he takes to implement root canals. I should know, I've had three in recent weeks. After each procedure, I was pain-free when the numbness induced by the anesthetic wore off. I was at Dr. Ida's office today for a root canal (cracked tooth). He explained everything, answered my questions and showed me the reason and the need for the root canal. I am very afraid of dentistry as I have had bad experiences with getting numb. OMGoodness, this Dr. knows how to get the job done. I barely even felt the first prick. He took his time and during the procedure I moved a bit and he stopped to give more medicine. Very, very attentive to his patient. I agree with the other positive reviews. A big price gouge. The staff needs more training in patient communication. Root canals are not as in demand since implants are better and for cost purposes. I have recently retired as a practicing dentist in the area for 38 years. I have referred many of my patients in need of a root canal therapy to Dr Ida office because of the wonderful positive feed backs they had provided me with of their experiences they had with their treatment. My patient's received excellent root canal treatment and this is where I wanted to go if I needed to have a root canal. On my evaluation visit with Dr Ida, a pleasant gentleman who had just had a root canal completed hugged and thanked the staff and Dr Ida for the excellent treatment and the gentle care that he had just received. He told me that his root canal went fantastic. I feel as a patient and retired dentist that I receive an excellent root canal. It is my opinion that Dr Ida has master not only the root canal treatment process but also the root canal experience process. The injection I received I hardly felt anything if at all. In my case, on the actual root canal I felt nothing period. I felt comfortable, relaxed and at ease. Within two days of treatment the tenderness I was experiencing before the root canal went away and I was able to bite normally again. I had Dr Ida restore my recently total ceramic crown tooth that was less then one year old with a tooth colored restoration that actually looks so nice I can not tell its a filling. I was saved the cost of a new crown. I am writing this review for two reasons. Reason 1 - For those of you that have been running around with infection in a tooth it is not healthy for your body. Not only did the root canal make my mouth feel great but I feel great and healthy as well. Reason 2 - Dr Ida and his staff treatment of my tooth was exceptional and the treatment process was uneventful. I had a pleasant experience. So as I made my exit from Dr Ida's office after my root canal, I said to a seated patient Wow! Dr Ida and his staff are as good as it gets! I cannot say enough good things about them! read more

I was seen by doctor Rodney in 2018 for a root canal on a wisdom tooth. With high anxiety for any dental procedure dr Rodney suggest a light sedation medication for the next procedure. Today August 21st 8am appointment the sedation pills weren't really working but I felt comfortable to move forward. I produced two tears while injecting at the roof of the mouth which is painful. The doctor then asked if I was feeling sleepy with the medication and I stated no. He then proceeded to tell me I needed to go to UCI and be put to sleep for a root canal which is sooo expensive; and that he refuses to do the procedure because he doesn't want to start and something happen in the middle. I said I am completely fine moving forward: I've always cried with injections. I was able to get through The first root canal you preformed fine. so why would a professional doctor stop a procedure after someone is highly medicated and given level 5 numbing medication? I suggested my boyfriend be in the room to keep me calm and he asked me to leave. This doctor shows no empathy, compassion, or understanding! He drugged me, took my money, and then changed his mind. He is very rude and beyond unprofessional, even his staff and Linda where in awe of his actions! He does not listen to the patient and choose what is in their best interest but the easiness of the procedure and what is convenient for him. I regret meeting this doctor and being drugged for no reason; as this doctor already had his premonitions. I will be filling with my attorney and the California dental board. No doctor should be practicing with this state of mind! read more

Dr Ida and his staff especially Carmen are amazing. I was referred to him by Dr Jeffrey Robertson that does not perform root canals. I was so incredibly nervous because I love Dr Robertson but he assured me I would be in good hands, and I was. Dr Ida explains everything that is going to happen, he is warm and empathetic. I was thankful for Carmen too because she gave me Apple Juice which calmed me down because I didn't eat before the procedure. Dr, Ida is absolutely amazing as well as his staff especially Patty (I think that's her name) anyways it was my first root canal and I was deathly scared I was literally in tears even before he started. They were so professional and calmed me down that I have never felt so comfortable getting work done on my teeth ever in my life. They called me later that day and the next day to see how I was doing which I thought was great customer service. I originally went to Western Dental thinking it would be affordable and I am so glad I did not go. They worked out a payment plan that worked for me. I could not imagine going anywhere else for a root canal and god forbid I need another one but if I do I will definitely be going to Dr. Ida. Trust me do not go anywhere else they are perfect.
