Dr. Trieu is exceptional. I've worked with many dentists and as a dental hygienist myself, his attention to detail is one-of-a-kind. I had a big cavity on my tooth that was hurting and other dentists in Washington suggested I need a root canal and a crown. I used to live in Anaheim but even now I that moved to Washington, I will still fly down to see Dr. Trieu in Irvine! Dr. Trieu was not only honest about my dental work but also took a conservative approach to the treatment. He was very detailed, explaining each step of the procedure. Dr. Trieu made me a partial crown so I can keep the healthy part of my tooth. They had a same day CEREC crown making machine so I got to watch my crown being made and everything was done in just couple hours. I also got a routine cleaning with his hygienist, May, and she did an exceptional job with the cleaning, gentle yet detailed and thorough without any discomfort, exactly what you want from maintenance visit. She measured my gum pockets and also showed me her approach of keeping the gum healthy. She used salt washing technique to polish my teeth which is my favorite part of the cleaning. The entire staff was incredibly nice, ensuring my comfort throughout the visit. I'm so grateful and lucky to have found such genuine and honest team, which is rare in this economy. He did a thorough evaluation and after almost 2 hours he was able to reuse my old crown and saved me tons of money from getting a new crown or worse yet, an implant. You won't regret it! ------------ I came to Dr. Trieu for a second opinion after my previous dentist told me I needed to extract an old root canal that had become infected.Mind you I had gone several months prior to address this pain, and ended up getting drilled and poked and prodded multiple times in multiple appointments but never apparently addressing the real issue until one day it got to the point where he told me I needed to extract the tooth ?? I was so confused and shocked especially because I felt I had actually been proactive about the pain and going in to see him despite all my dentist trauma... it didn't matter. He said that extraction was my only option and to book an appointment right away and sent me off. It just didn't sit right with me. I felt like I wasn't given enough information to make an informed decision, and I left feeling so stressed and anxious. He didn't mention any of the other consequences of getting a molar removed and the highly likely hood of more costly and painful procedures down the road. I was informed of none of this, and had to research on my own which was extremely scary and stressful. Not insinuating any malicious intent from my old dentist, but I'm definitely understanding how dentistry can also be a business at the end of the day that will try to sell you unnecessary procedures, and I really don't feel that at preservation dentistry. I felt genuine care and concern for my wellbeing which is an entirely new experience for me at the dentist. I feel like I found not only a new dentist but a real friend when I needed it. Just wanted to thank Dr Chu for noticing the gap between my upper and lower when I would bite. It was also causing me headaches and making me two more on one side. He has corrected my teeth and fix the Gap and now my headaches are way less and I chew evenly. The best part is now I love to smile. One more New Patient and one more LOYAL Patient!! I just met Dr. Trieu on Wednesday after cracking an upper rear molar. Wasn't sure if I cracked my tooth or the filling (could still see some filling left). My Niece has been going to Dr. Trieu for 15 years and told me he's the BEST DENTIST and I now whole heartily agree. I'm self-employed so don't have Dental Insurance. First, he fit me in the day after calling, then after seeing my damaged tooth, made time during his lunch hour to fit me in the very next day to fix the tooth. I felt ZERO, yes, ZERO pain during the numbing process for the filling. He gave me two options for treatment, Composite or Porcelain and was honest about not forcing me to choose the more expensive option even though the broken part of the tooth would require sculpting. For an out-of-pocket expense, I felt it was all fair and reasonable. I was truly in awe of the ZERO pain (I always have some needle pain... during the numbing process, with Dr. T I felt zero pain). Amazing. He drilled away slowly to only take out what was needed, saving my good tooth and not causing any additional trauma to my tooth nerves or roots. He explains what he's doing along the way, and ensures you are comfortable and in no pain. He's doesn't rush to do the job, he's meticulous with what he's doing and most importantly, truly CARES about his patients. Even though I don't have Dental insurance, I will be sure to stay on top of cleanings now and getting my teeth check by Dr. T and his staff every 6 months. BOTTOM LINE...HIGHLY, RECOMMEND!! In less than a year Dr. Trieu and his staff has shown me what a dental office should be like. They really care for you like a family member. A little story about my experience: I had a botched root canal and multiple Invisalign treatments from another general dentist that continued to cause me pain 4 years later. I went to preservation dentistry, told them my concern. Dr. Trieu heard me, did xrays and recommended me to a specialist. Lo and behold, there was a root that went untreated.
