The hype is all true. Dr. Bouhairi is the first dentist to not try and take advantage of me with scare tactics. I have root canals and fillings galore, and many are problematic recently. Instead of saying all of the issues were dire (like every dentist has said in some form or fashion to me for decades), he was very realistic about what needed to be done now, and what I could wait on. I typically get the BEST care as I'm in the tech industry and always have great insurance. But I'm in between jobs and on medi-cal/denti-cal. He and his office staff didn't make me feel like a second class citizen. They treated me like a valued customer. I have found my dentist for life. And get this: he NEVER asked for a review like so many others. I was just so impressed that I WANTED to write it. read more

They will try to rip you off and are very rude about it. I bought their teeth whitening system and when I needed refills on the gel they tried to charge me 5x more than they actually cost. Dr. B is the BEST! I had an EXTREME phobia and fear of the dentist before coming to I-Smile. Like seriously, take someone you know who can't stand the dentist and multiply it by 100 and you have me. Dr. B and Bru were so incredibly kind, patient, and understanding with me. I definitely teared up the first time I was in the chair because of how nervous/anxious I was but felt fully accepted and not embarrassed by it. If it weren't for the initial kindness when scheduling my first appointment and Bru being reassuring of Dr. B, I most likely would have flaked... Let me tell you, I'm SO GLAD I kept to it and worked on my phobia with this team. Dr. B is a straight up dental artist! He's extremely patient, gentle, kind, talented, and reasonable. I had received x-rays a year prior from a different office and they came to me with outrageous costs, procedures, and I could tell they weren't being honest and were in it for the $$$... My personal tip (if you're anything like me) is to bring a cozy blanket, earphones, and some lavender essential oil when you're getting a filling. I'm SO happy and grateful to have found this dentist. His office staff is kind and caring and he is gentle and honest doing the most he can for his patients. I've told all my friends about him. I was hesitant at first to go somewhere in Irvine because I had already gone to a place in Santa Ana that I thought would be cheaper but they tried to charge me over 4k to resolve my dental issues. It was an absolute pleasure coming into Dr. Bouhairi's office. I'm surprised that there aren't more reviews! I have been to many dentists and many have scared me to the point that I never wanted to return. They usually don't listen and keep you waiting for hours. With Dr. Bouhairi, I felt that most of my time was dedicated to me and he wasn't rushing my visit to fit in as many as possible. He was kind and I really liked that he listened to me intently. It took a while but I finally got my gma in to see Dr. Bouhairi. Working with the public in various ways, I have to say that this office is amazing. The front office was calm, caring and professional as before. Its just her and the doctor and I can tell she has to multi-task a lot, which isn't easy. In my experience , most people will either admire that ability or mistaken the person as being rude to their wants. My gma was very happy with her appointment and loved the doctor! All in all this office deserves its 5stars for sure! I use Yelp a lot and trust that most people are pretty truthful with their experiences so believe me, the rare negative reviews I see here look like needy haters and should go where they belong. After several terrible experiences at multiple OC dentists as an adult, I've grown leery and afraid of going to the dentist. Dr. Bouhairi and his staff won me over in less than 15 minutes and I now have a completely new outlook about going to the dentist, as long as that dentist is Dr. Bouhairi!!! I was on my way to the endodontist office, as a walk in patient, located two offices down from Dr. Bouhairi's because I broke a tooth and now need a root canal. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the office before they stepped out for lunch for the next hour. I've been in excruciating pain for the past 2 days and nights, so much so that I even considered going to the emergency room in the middle of the night. Luckily for me Dr B's office was open. I explained my situation and asked if they had time to fit me into their schedule for a novocaine injection to give me the pain relief I so desperately needed. Not only were they kind and helpful, they had me sitting in a chair talking to the doctor within 10 minutes of walking in the door. To top it off, knowing that I'm having a costly procedure done at 1pm, root canal and crown, he didn't even charge me. I am absolutely shocked that I can say I just had a fabulous experience at the dentist and I actually look forward to going back for a cleaning after I have my root canal and crown fitted. Dr Bouhairi is the best dentist I've ever had. I moved to Long Beach which is a 45 min drive with no traffic and I still drive down to Irvine because I like him so much. The cleaning is quick and painless (well, as painless as it could be). When I first went to him, I hadn't been to the dentist in 2 years and had 7 cavities. He was very patient and showed me on the x-ray exactly where they were and how bad. To save me some cash he offered to do the minor ones without novacane. At first I thought, "no way", this isn't the Middle Ages! He assured me it wouldn't hurt and he would go slow and switch to novacane if it did. I got 5 filled this way very quickly and the last two were a breeze. Long story short, this guy is honest, good at his job, and makes what is usually a terrifying ordeal very easy and painless. read more

Dr. Karim is a very sweet, honest, and capable dentist. He has excellent bedside manner and treated my whole family for two years while living in California. He was great with my 2 and 4 year old, made them feel very comfortable. He treated me for an abscess and helped me get out of pain. He also noted that I am a teeth grinder and fitted me for a mouth guard, which relieved me from the daily headaches I was suffering from. He is also very reasonable priced. I read all the reviews and I'm seriously confused what David H's issue was. Maybe it was a different person but the office manager answered the phone when I called to see if they were taking new patients. Her name is Robin. She said they were but apologized that they don't take hmo insurances any more, which is what I have. She went so far during the call to recommend actions to take and places for me to go to! Luckily I found someone. She was nice, polite, patient with all my questions and very curtious even after learning that I wouldn't even be a potential patient. If you don't have a hmo and looking for great customer service, call them. I'm sure their dentist is just as great given all the five stars! read more

I went in for a cleaning today. It was an overall OK experience. Not the best I've had. The whole appointment took nearly two hours. I waited in the waiting room for a bit, then the hygienist took awhile trying to get my x-rays. The doctor was knowledgeable and efficient. The cleaning itself was messy and not thorough at all, but rough on my gums. At the end, my gums felt raw and bloody. I will probably get my filling here and then switch to another provider. read more
