Dr. Chen was so kind and informative when I had questions about a filling he wanted to replace. Explained to me and showed me why he thought it was needed, and I'm so glad I did, I felt the difference instantly. I've already been back a second time because I've decided to do Invisalign, and it was again a great experience from the entire staff at the front desk to the dental assistants. Wish I would of had a better experience like most but unfortunately I didn't. I was scheduled an appointment for 4pm for cleaning and exam. I walked in at 4:05. They told me to take a seat and I asked the receptionist if they needed me to get started on anything. She said no. So time goes by and I go back up to the front desk to ask if they need me to sign anything and then they tell me I can't be seen because it's 4:12 and it's too late. So I'm like confused because they scheduled me specifically at 4pm. Then the reception is trying to tell me because they close at 5pm so I said why would they schedule me this late if they won't take any customers close to closing. Then she lets me know only an exam can be done but no cleaning. So at this point I'm annoyed because I took time off work to come only to be told I need to take another day off to come in. Instead I told them to just cancel my appointment. I will be going elsewhere. A waste of time. They need better communication. They even had me sign a waiver stating their policy for no shows and they only have a 15 minute grace period during the patient registration. So unprofessional. read more

Based on the "good reviews" I made an appointment. Unfortunately I had a bad experience... I came in for a simple tightening up for my implant because it became loose. I called beforehand asking if they have my insurance (Delta dental) - they said yes. So I come in and expect my insurance to cover. Once I get in they "approached all friendly and nice" (which any service should do). Long story short, the front desk lady approached me in the middle of my examination and I was charged full price! $550 just for a simple tightening. I asked why didn't my insurance cover anything ? She gave a lame answer saying "some insurances don't cover certain things" while the whole time my insurance was in-network" I called numerous times after this to figure and solve this issue and they never once called me back to resolve this. I'm still waiting til this day for them to reach out and resolve this. Don't go here, they are shady. read more

I had a dental bridge procedure done here about two years ago. At the time, I asked about getting a dental implant. The doctor advised that a bridge would be a better option for my situation, and I trusted his recommendation. The total cost of the bridge was around $7,000, with about $2,000 paid out of pocket after Delta PPO. Looking back, the implant option would have been roughly the same cost, and I now wish I had gone that route. I don't want to question the doctor's integrity, but since he does not perform implants himself, I can't help but wonder if that influenced the recommendation. With an implant, any issues would have been limited to a single tooth. With a bridge, however, the two healthy teeth next to the problem tooth had to be shaved down, and those teeth have now been affected as well. To his credit, the doctor was attentive after the procedure and had me come back 3-4 times to make minor adjustments, clearly wanting to ensure the bridge was done correctly. Unfortunately, despite those follow-ups, my teeth never felt 100% right. Even two years later, I still experience sensitivity to hot and cold and discomfort with pressure in that area. The office itself is very nice, and the staff is friendly and professional. That said, the outcome of the procedure wasn't as ideal as I had hoped. I also noticed that part of their high Yelp rating may come from the small push at reception to leave a review on the spot in exchange for a gift. If there was an option for 3.5 start, I'd do that but I just can't justify 4 stars given the fact the outcome isn't close to ideal. read more

I was a new patient and needed a dental cleaning. There was a slight wait because this week they switched over to a new system, but they got me in and took care of my x-rays and prep-- Andrew made the full mouth x-ray process quick and comfortable. Shout out to Nihad who was very personable and thorough with the dental cleaning. He communicated what he was doing during the cleaning and also made sure I was comfortable throughout the process (I have sensitivity on some teeth). I didn't feel rushed and even though it was busy, I appreciated him taking the time to explain some tips for me to improve my at home care. Dr. Chen went over my exam and pointed out some areas of concern. These are areas that I've been monitoring over time, so I wasn't surprised. Overall, I appreciate the front staff explaining the price breakdowns for me. I didn't feel like they were trying to sell anything or push any expenses on me, but were just focusing on my care treatment. As someone who used to work in private dental clinics, it was also reassuring to see that their prices were fair and within market means. I definitely feel comfortable getting my dental treatment with Crossroads Dental moving forward. read more

The place looks clean and weird to say but cozy too! They have water, coffee, and tea by the waiting area if you wanted to grab a drink while waiting. However, I never had to wait long for any of my appointments. Just check in and a few minutes later, they would call me in. All the staffs are friendly. Especially one of the x ray tech/ dental assistant who is always saying you're doing a great job, I'm moving as fast as I can, we're almost done here, and how are you feeling, etc. Really appreciated that, especially when I am extremely nervous at all dental appointments. I had another dental assistant who checked over and over again if my filling fitted right to my liking. Really appreciated the care in that too. I also had one of the front desk people who made sure multiple times that I had no more questions left unanswered and kept asking if I needed another talk with the doctor if I'm unsure about something. I loved that! And lastly, I went here multiple times, and had 2 different doctors who worked on my teeth. Both doctors gave really gentle numbing shots- I know, that's so basic, but I've been to so many dentists. Some give extremely painful numbing shots and some who don't even offer any numbing shots at all! read more

I really wish I could give this place a better rating because the doctor is wonderful, and the front desk staff are friendly. However, as a user experience designer, I can offer a professional assessment that their dental hygienist is a major churn point for patients. I've been battling an autoimmune disease that causes vitamin deficiencies, which can sometimes lead to swollen gums. The hygienist was condescending and treated me like a child, as if I didn't know how to brush or floss properly. For the record, I brush three times a day, floss daily, and have never missed a dental cleaning twice a year. He was also overly pushy about injecting antibiotics that weren't covered by my insurance, too. I didn't want to argue, but just wanted to get my cleaning done and get back to work. Beyond his unbearable attitude, the cleaning procedure was unnecessarily painful. In hindsight, I should have walked out mid-visit. I'm sharing this to help others avoid a similar experience. I don't want an apology. Instead, I strongly urge the practice to take disciplinary action against this hygienist. And if you were wondering why you're not getting enough patients, now you know why. read more

I'm from Sonoma County and I've had the same dentist my entire life. Once he retired, he gave his practice to a new doctor, whom I saw for 3 years, and who was also amazing. I moved down to Orange County and I've been looking for a dental office that could compete with my old one. I'm picky about dentists because my teeth are super important and I'm pretty nervous about dentists in general. I came across this office on Google and thank god I did. 20/10. The staff, assistants, and dentists are so kind and I felt very comfortable having my teeth cleaned here! I had Dr. Chen do my exam and he was amazing. We've been going to Crossroads Dental since it was owned by Dr. Moon the original dentist. This facility has changed with so many dentists over the years after Dr. Moon left. Dr. Moon was an honest dentist, but the following dentists after Dr. Moon left felt like they were just trying to get the most money possible from each appointment. They're also not accommodating and will gaslight you just so they're right in each situation. They lied to us as well saying the hygienist already left but he was still there and that they called us the day before and left a voicemail but we didn't have any missed calls or voicemails from them. I have been coming here since I moved to Irvine back in 2020 when Dr. Moon was around. Despite the high turnover in staff, they have managed to deliver topnotch customer service and patient care. Everyone has been really nice and friendly. My favorite is their xray specialist. He's super gentle and really easy going. Dr. Chen is also good and personable.
