Very rude staff members, disrespectful towards there clients in front of my kids due to an outstanding balance. As a business should keep it professional and not show an inappropriate attitude towards customers while little kids are listening. Received a flyer in the mail for a new patient exam and cleaning for $99. When I came in for my exam, Dr, Phu tried to scare me and said, be prepared to lose some teeth. You need a deep cleaning. When I asked how much for a deep cleaning, they didn't give me a price and decided on no cleaning altogether. After the doctor left, another lady came in and said a cleaning wouldn't matter and escorted me to billing. They charge $50 for the examination. It felt like a bait and switch to get people in the door and use upsell tactics in hoping people will just accept it. read more

The only thing this place cares about is money. I went in for a cleaning last year and multiple times they tried to sell me on things i didnt need. They offered services for a ridiculous price. I just sat there saying no because i really was hesitant to get anything extra and they eventually brought down the price to half lol. I could tell the dentist wasnt thrilled because he couldnt make an easy buck off me. Fast forward to now and they have been spamming my phone with calls, texts, emails every couple weeks even tho i have explicitly tried to unsubscribe and told them to remove me from their contact list multiple times. As a follow-up, I had to have a large cavity removed and refilled. Dr. Wasfi was patient, kind and explained everything she was doing step by step. She was able to help me only recline slightly, so that I didn't experience vertigo, which can happen to me when laying flat. In 45 years, I've never had a more pleasant dental experience. I return in a few weeks for another filling and now I don't have any anxiety or fear. I would highly recommend Dr. Wasfi. She is a blessing to the dental office. read more

They talked me into getting invisalign retainers and told me my insurance would pay part of it so I agreed. They called me after a few weeks and confirmed my insurance is paying a portion of the cost. I just got a call today and they are demanding the portion that Insurance was supposed to pay. I would have never got these expensive retainers if I didn't have some insurance coverage because I cannot afford them. They were not very understanding at all! I use to have traumatic experiences from child-adulthood when going to the dentist. My decision to go here was life changing. Van & Dr. Mogari are absolutely amazing at what they do! And very personable. They truly get to know you and your needs as a patient. I personally have super sensitive teeth to cold air, water, and certain metals. After a year, I've built a healthy and strong enamel. A few years later, I'm a loyal patient. My last session I didn't need much numbing and barely let the hygienist know that my teeth felt sensitive! Everyone here is extensively knowledgeable on customer care! They utilize every moment and are super efficient. Because of the people here I am able to visit without the anxiety of knowing if it will be painful. They also have many alternatives! As a patient what was most important was the comfortability. If I'm going to lay down and get my teeth worked on I hope I'm not grabbing the seat as if I'm being tortured. I remember my previous dentist would inject me with this large silver syringe and it was the most intimidating and painful thing. At Irvine Smile Design, they have many options for numbing(if you need it). My first time they swabbed this gel like liquid around my gums and it was such a pleasant session! I remember finding it funny that it was pleasant. During the process they check in with you if you're feeling comfortable and if you're feeling any pain. I really loved that. I guess you can say, my inner child was healed. When it comes to transitioning and switching you to a new insurance. Everything is seamless here and they make sure to let you know in advance if it will go through. I've been to other places where they do the latter and it's a nightmare. Extra notes: they have the latest technology here! And they keep everything extra clean and sanitized you can tell by looking at their nooks & crannys. Thank you again ISD! Have been asking for our refund for over a month and nothing. It is really easy to accept from the patients but when it is time to refund the patient, we have to go through hoops and still nothing. I mean they collect from the patient even before we are seen. If the patient doesn't pay, then the bill is sent to collections. Ridiculous i will be filing a formal complaint with BBB and will then take legal action. complete rip off...stay away from this business read more

My primary dentist told me I had to get the fillings in all of my molars and some premolars replaced, and I wanted to get a second opinion from a different dentist to confirm. On their website, they advertise a free visit for a second opinion!! I called them and they were able to see me the same day. I forwarded my X-rays from my primary dentist to their email (It has to be recent X-rays in order for them to give the best advice). The doctor took a look at the X-rays and probed in my mouth. He ended up agreeing with my primary dentist, so Tina helped me with my future treatment plan. Some notes about this office: -the front desk, assistant, and Dr. Sam Mogari were so sweet, informative, and cares about patient satisfaction -the office is clean and spacious with 8 rooms that allow for social distancing -they offer a membership plan with different services, depending on your needs (ask them about it!) -they make you take a picture to put in your chart, which was new to me but okay! haha -I don't believe they take HMO plans I'm all about first impressions, and this place welcomed me in as a new patient. this place used to be great until it wasn't. its almost like they treat their repeat patients the worst. been coming here for 8 years and front desk staff changed and became so rude and all about fees and money. they find any reason to charge you and they failed to tell me that I am out of network while asking me to pay crazy money for fillings. Destinee front desk girl is so rude and has no manners. there used to be girl who would greet you by your first name and then they'd take you in the back to go over financials properly but now they ask you to pay before they even take you back. the only Dr I recommend and love was Dr Brown who barely works there anymore. Modern, friendly, thorough and professional! I've had regular check-ups with different dentists over many years. I thought they were all pretty much the same. Cleanings were quick and I felt like the dental office just wanted to move bodies in and out. This office is different. They scan, record and examine what's happening with your teeth. They then show you what's happening on a large flat screen monitor while also explaining their recommendations. The hygienist and doctor were both very clear about what they recommended while leaving it up to me to make informed decisions. My cleaning was with Van. She was not rough handed like some hygienists I've seen over the years. Nor did I feel like she was rushing the task at hand. She was methodical and even dictated notes to an assistant regarding my teeth. She also conferred with Doctor Brown who also inspected my teeth. Also: There is an air filtration system next to the chair. Nice touch ever since Covid. No "up selling" or pressure. Friendly staff. No surprises regarding billing, either. I showed them my dental insurance card and they handled the rest. Highly recommend. read more

I've been going to dentists for 30+ years in many different cities I've lived in (Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Philadelphia, New York, Redwood City / San Mateo) and these guys are by far the WORST. They are all about alarming you and scaring you and convincing you that you need to pay them more money. I strongly recommend avoiding these liars. I went to another dentist in Irvine and it was 100x better and I will never return to these cheats again ("Irvine Smile Design" is a joke). These people are con artists, beware! The hygienist also was incompetent and asked me if I "smoked regularly" (I've never smoked) and told me my teeth were terrible, when I heard the opposite from a DENTIST a few weeks later at another office - don't trust these liars! read more

He just took out of the half broken tooth, and made a mold for crown to charge me more than $2000, without even thinking about how to save it. Another expert dentist I later saw told me it could have be saved if using medicine to treat the root at the time it's broken. My husband and I have had a great experience at Irvine Smile Design since we've been going there for a couple years now. He's basically had his whole mouth slowly replaced over time due to previous dental work that didn't hold up well. He's very happy with his teeth now. Dr. Haleh Fazeli also in particular is just an amazing human and incredibly detailed and high quality dentist, who really went above and beyond to make sure my chipped crown was replaced painlessly and skillfully within two weeks. From matching the tooth color, making sure the fit was perfect, getting an old crown out with no discomfort, and getting me in and out to return to work, was just so helpful. Such extraordinary patient care. The hygienists are also so very pleasant. They are terrific humans with a great sense of humor (one had me laughing so hard)! The front desk staff are also all excellent. Thanks for getting my insurance information so quickly because I wasn't even aware of my new insurance benefits. First, I'm a local physician in Irvine and pride myself on complete patient care. This place has great dentists and dental assistants but their front office needs some work in terms of billing and payment. I've been waiting for 6 months for my Invisalign which now I won't receive. Only 1/4 of my dental/filling work is done which is incomplete due to "insurance reimbursements". It's not the patients job to collect billing from insurance for the dental clinic. I was told this is a courtesy the clinic performs.....on what planet. Great dentists and assistants but with my limited time...not worth the headache when there's many many dental offices in Irvine. read more

I get an exam and cleaning every 6 months and decided to switch dentists due to a recent move. Amazing how I suddenly need two crowns and have all these issues in a matter of months especially since I am religious about my dental hygiene. The dentist noticed that I had a lot of work done due to bad hygiene I had in the past and she tried to take advantage. Tightest run office EVER! Gentle. Efficient. Informative. Educational. From the moment you walk in, your wait time is no longer than 5 minutes in the lobby (keep in mind, results may vary but my experiences thus far have been minimal wait time). I love that my dental hygienist focused on detailed work, kept me informed of the things she's seeing, and offered why it might be worth focusing my flossing or brushing in certain areas. I asked her about teeth bleaching and she informed me of options and offered that she can have my teeth evaluated by their in-house bleacher but felt my teeth were white enough that it wouldn't be something she'd recommend bc she'd "hate to have me go thru it, not see a difference, and be upset." LOVE THAT INTEGRITY! Typically you'd get polished after a cleaning but she knew the Dr would caught up in a procedure so she got him in to evaluate my teeth so I wouldn't have to wait. That thoughtfulness shows she's an employee who is vested in the customer experience office which is saying something about the leadership and their thoughtfulness for their staff. The lady who polished my teeth talked thru each phase she was going thru and then scheduled my 6 month appt! And it was done just like that -- 45m flat! It's rare that an office/practice is so well run -- office staff / manager are huge factors for a tight run ship. Kudos to them -- they're the real MVP! I have been a long term loyal client of both Dr.Mogari and Dr.Brown, and let me begin by stating the obvious: There is no one dentistry in the nation (yeah, you heard right) that offers as personable and hospitable staff members. The wait times are never long and the services are impeccably efficient, so you manage to preserve your sanity- which is rare when dealing with medical services. Everyone caters to you patiently, trying to better each and every one of your experiences; and that is something I greatly value. Sloan, who is responsible for the financial department, is always so cheerful and manages to brighten my day as well: Both Dr.Mogari and Dr.Brown are great company and experts in their field of work; they always manage to get a couple of chuckles out of me. The visits to the dentist now are actually enjoyable and my oral health care has improved tremendously! Who would've thought such a dentistry could exist, eh? Trust me, I understand the skepticism, but it does exist. Recently, I purchased their in house insurance plan and boy, has it saved me bundles! Not to mention, after receiving my first custom sports mouthguard last year, I returned with a chewed out piece after competing in my National Tournament for Jiu Jitsu. Apparently I am an oddity because hockey players manage to keep their mouthguards for longer durations haha. But anyways, the staff was so sensitive to my needs that they bypassed the a large portion of fees and only charged a modest lab fee. I was astounded. I have been going here for over a year and I absolutely love my dentist Dr. Mogari and the dental hygienist as well. It had been a few years since my last check up so I was worried that I might have a cavity or some other serious issue. Luckily, that wasn't the case. I had my silver fillings replaced with white ones and now my smile is better than ever. I just went for my 6 month cleaning and all is good. What a fantastic experience, right from the start! Booked my appointment online (easy!) - received just the right amount of information/reminders to assist me on my first visit. This included a copy of the new patient forms that I could easily fill out in advance of my visit, as well as reminder emails and texts (not too much, just enough). Easy to find, plenty of parking - upon arrival in the office, I was greeted by the team for my 5:30 pm (end of day) appointment. I spoke with Monica, the Patient Coordinator: she was friendly and welcoming to everyone who came in and made sure to put me at ease on my first visit. I was early for my appointment and was greeted by the assistant (Veronica?) to start my treatment (earlier than 5:30 pm). Veronica laid out expectations of what the procedures she was conducting - she was gentle and provided clear instructions, and tried to make my visit as comfortable as possible. Thereafter, I was introduced to Katie, the hygienist, who was swift and efficient with cleaning my teeth. She offered friendly conversation and provided me with practical suggestions on how to maintain. She was personable and warm. Finally, I got to meet Dr. Mogari - super friendly, smiling (even after a long day). He broke down his diagnosis clearly and efficiently - offered me a variety of solutions to ensure my needs were met. Dr. Mogari clearly leads by example with his team. Prior to departure, I got to speak with Monica again, who provided me with a breakdown of what to expect for next steps. I booked my next appointment on the spot. I found this dentist for my son who is in college in the area. We live out of state. Things had been fine for the past 2 1/2 years. Service was fine. Then my company's insurance changed. I called to speak to the office about this as we were going to have to change dentists. They assured us there would be no difference in cost and that my son could continue to go there. That was until they said he needed 3 cavities redone last month. We were hit with a bill of $1,480 to fix 3 fillings. Insane. Spoke to the front office manager Nina who did nothing to rectify the situation. I would never have had my son do the work there if I had known. A complete bait and switch as they assured me the cost to keep going there would be no different in cost if we were still in network. They cost me over a $1,000 that we didn't need to spend if we had gone to an in network provider. Not honest at all and they are completely unwilling to fix the situation with a refund of the difference. read more

All these 5 star reviews lol.... I recently moved to OC and had to find a new dentist. These charges are over the top and ridiculous. Also I went in for a first time $100 cleaning & they convinced me that I needed "deep cleaning " which was $500 for each "side " ... I fell for it and then went back to my regular dentist who told me a deep cleaning for me wasnt necessary and explained why. Not to mention i'm in healthcare myself so why would you exaggerate and lie to me? $500/side is hysterically ridiculous. I canceled my "follow up" with them which they seemed annoyed about. Maybe next time when a new patient comes in for the deal you're offering, dont try to convince them they need more. Made it sound like my teeth were rotting when they were actually fine. I love this dentist office. The entire staff is so kind and helpful. They have updated their policies in response to Covid 19 and I felt very safe. Surveys the day before and day of the appointment to ensure that you are not experiencing symptoms, a temperature check when you check in, mask requirements, and well spaced appointments to keep patients from waiting together. Katie was my hygienist today and she was so friendly and positive and she took her time to make sure this general cleaning was thorough. My mouth feels like I was treated to a spa service! This place is one of the best. I had 7 fillings done, bite adjustment, and rough surface filing all done in under an hour. It had been a few years since I went in to the dentist, but my teeth feel better then ever. No pain during the procedure and the dentists encourage you to be picky about the results.
