Shortly after the service, the "On/Off emissions feature stopped operating for the first time and I brought it back thinking that it was a simple fuse or battery replacement. I was told by these guys that it had nothing to do with their recent service, they would have to remove seat(s) to get to the batteries and that labor and replacement replacement costs would be in "the thousands." When asked, they said there was no way to simply deactivate the warning light. I left and I will never return!

I called up scottys and they let me know they were booked for the next 2 days (it was the first) but they said to drop it off and that they would do their best to look at it beforehand. sure enough I got a call the next day with a breakdown of what needed to be done. They gave me an estimate which was HALF WHAT THE JEEP DEALER QUOTED US, plus it didnt include some of the nonsensical stuff they suggested to fix that scottys said did not need to be done. ultimately they were able to get everything done before we headed out for vacation. when I went to go pick it up, they had admitted there was a communication error and that it wasnt ready just yet and that it would be another hour or so. I mentioned that I had just took an uber and had a lot of other things to try to work on and to see if they could try to give me an accurate time estimate. the guy there (isaac i think) just handed me a set of keys and said heres a loaner ill call you! that alone made this a 6 star experience! talk about admitting to a mistake and making up for it with phenomenal service. anywho, i know where ill be getting my oil changed moving forward! thank you guys!

After telling me they were going to waive the diagnosis fee, they took three hours to diagnose the problem and falsely told me I needed to get multiple different things replaced, costing over $2800. After telling them I was going to try and get a 2nd opinion, they charged me $180+ just for the diagnosis. I am now getting it fixed at another place for less than $1000. These guys are thieves!

The dealer wanted an OBSCENE amount to do it, probably as much as the car is worth. A little digging and I found them, then the part online (they said they could get it too) and they repaired it lickety split. No more funky spazzy brakes! Now they service all foreign and domestic makes and models. Dave, the owner, has been in the business for years and he is a stand-up guy. He used to be the shop foreman and now he owns the place. Not only do they do good work here, a major perk for commuters is that it's literally 20 feet from the Westport Metro North station. The last time something went wrong with my car, I ended up on the side of the road and AAA had to tow it in. I was prepared for the worst. But it turned out just to be a $3.00 fuse. I admit, I'm a bit of a pessimist, but I would gamble that most shops, especially those in the NYC area, might seize the opportunity to take the customer for a real ride. But Dave changed out the fuse and didn't even charge me the $3.00! Or a dime for labor for trouble-shooting, I might add. Highly recommended!
