I had a slow leak in the tire so i went to them for repair instead they said they cant repair the tire and start recommending used or new tires from them when i refuse to do they said $10 charge to check the tire which took them less then 30seconds to check. Rip-off people so i went to townfair on Connecticut ave and was able to fix the same tire which Curries tires refuse to fix. No signs posted in the shop of any charge for just checking the tire. read more

They "investigated" it- couldn't find the issue then changed my pin without telling or asking me and told me the price was $25 bucks. A few days later my tire was low again. I rolled in here as it was the closest tire shop to my apartment. My tire pressure was continuously plummeting after multiple times putting air in. The attendant asked me if I had 10-15 minutes and quickly identified the nail in my tire and fixed it in 5 minutes for only $15! I could not believe how nice, helpful and affordable the fix was here. My daughter's VW Golf had an air leak in a snow tire. The first tire place told me the leak was due to a cut in the tread (based on a visual inspection) and that the tire could not be repaired. They advised me to purchase 4 new snow tire since they could not get a replacement to the "damaged" snow tire. Estimated cost $650. The next day, I went to Currie's and they checked the tire in a water bath to see where the leak was. It turns out that the problem was due to leak around the rim seal. Currie's remounted and balanced the tire. Total time: 30 minutes. Total cost $20. Highest recommendation. read more

He said they were fair, reasonably priced and would get me in and out in no time. I came here at 7am to see if they could fix my flat tire. They were able to fix my tire in less than 20 mins for $15. Since I was already there, I got an oil change for $28. That took a little bit, but I wasn't in a rush. No one tried to sell me or convince me of services I didn't want or need. They're open early during the week and until 1pm on Sundays. So yesterday I went to get my snow tired installed at @CurriesTires in Norwalk... what you are seeing is the epitome of INCOMPETENCE! Of the 4 wheels, both center rim caps were lost on my rear tires, 5 of my 6 lug nuts were replaced on my front passenger tire, and all 6 lug nuts were improperly installed causing them to loosen and fall right off as I had dropped my Wife off at work and my Son at school (thank God it didn't happen on the HIGHWAY) .... needless to say that I called Curries and informed them of my situation, they came within 30mins to my vehicle to replace the missing lug nuts and followed me to the shop to tighten and resolve the issue. Upon arriving at the shop, the owner after I explained what happened (mind you, calmly and quietly as to not to arouse any concern to the customers there because mistakes happen) the Owner immediately blamed the make and model of MY vehicle.... the owner's brother who went out to "fix" my car on site and at the shop (tightened all lug nuts with the air compressor gun); and oversaw the installation yesterday had already promised me a refund, when I asked for it to be processed, the Owner refused, saying "We did the work and I am not giving a refund".... now Curries a staple of the community for over 100yrs, the Owner and I are both Veterans, the Brother knows as he was informed that the "New Guy " installed my tires in the back, and the "Regular Guy" installed the front and told me "I saw the front tire lug bolt was broken yesterday " in which I told him "Okay, but you should've said this to me so that I knew"..... people I implore you all to not give Curries Tire your business for all the above reason and this..... here's the kicker!.... I am to drive my vehicle with 5 outta 6 lug nuts on my front passenger tire until Monday when I am to call to schedule and appountment to replace my lug nut bolt as they are too "busy"! I bought some used tires to this business, which should and have the obligation to sell them in good condition, but to my surprise, two of the tires were in very, very dangerous conditions to install them in a vehicle. The owner of this place has endangered my life and that of my family with his inrresponsibility and lack of consideration towards his clients. Absolutely top notch! Tim and crew do a fantastic job of sourcing tires at incredible (hard-to-beat) prices and these guys know their tires!! Called with a choice of three tires (Pirelli, Nokian, Continental) for my wife's car and they took the time to explain pros/cons of each and offer impartial, unbiased information. I'm usually skeptical of "impartial" advice as the recommendation tends to end up being the most expensive, but they were honest in explaining each tires qualities. The guy I spoke to even mentioned a recent (sales) trip to test out one brand of tire against other competitors. I was amazed at what they do to understand tires, really hands on. Yup! Can't recommend this place enough! Ended up ordering a full set of tires, and going back there for my winter tires (which I was having a job finding in this area). I have driven by this place a ton in the last year but never went in. I went today because my girlfriend's car had a nail in it. We expected to drop it off and get it back in an hour or two. We were pleasantly surprised how quick and easy the whole thing was. They took the tire off and got the nail out then patched it up. It took about seven minutes and cost me 15 bucks! I realized why this place has been in business for nearly 90 years. The guys are also really nice who work there. I'm going there for now on when I have tire troubles. So this place costs 80$ for a summer to winter tire change. the same day I got my tires changed, my tire blew on the road -likely due to overinflation. Took it back to the place, they totally deflected responsibility. I took their word for it, I put another tire which I had been using, that same day on the highway I had that pop as well. Went back the next day and they told me "shit happens," super disrespectful. I work over as a medical resident at a local hospital, and them acting this disrespectful will lead me to never let my colleagues go here. Currie's Tire is great. I am new to the area, and I brought my snow tires all the way from the West Coast with me. I inquired about storing my tires for the summer until I was ready to use them, and I expected to pay a service fee for the storage. Currie's suggested that they could do this for me for free, as a 'welcome to the neighborhood' and I could just pay standard fees when it came time to switch them out. I have chosen to give Currie's Tire a one star rating because of the owner. His first name escapes me (it could be Eddie-the same as one of his employees-however I am not sure), but suffice it to say that "Currie" (as he will be referred to from this point on) lacked anything closely resembling customer service skills. On Wednesday 7/11/18, I went to Currie's to have the tires replaced on my car. Having spoken to Currie several days earlier, I knew what I would be paying and how long it was going to take. The price I was given was excellent, it included balancing and alignment and I could not have been happier. The employee that I spoke to (Eddie) was super helpful and pleasant. Upon mentioning that I would need to get the oil changed later that day, Eddie informed me that they could do the oil change right there when they had the car up on the lift, and the price for the oil change was only $30. Once again, I could not have been happier. However, it is at this point that Currie showed up and things began to go awry. It was 8:15 am and Currie told me to go get a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts and to come back in an hour as they had one customer to deal with before me. No problem, so off I walked to DD, and had not coffee, but Sea Salt and Caramel flavored hot chocolate. It was so delicious that I ended up having 2 cups. Upon my return to Currie's, I was informed by Currie (in an annoyed tone) that he couldn't get to the oil change until 10:30. I figured "what the heck" I can kill another hour. By the way Currie, your customers are the reason for your work, not an interruption of it. You got that, Currie? Think on that awhile. When I returned at 10:30, I found my car parked in the back parking lot, oil change not done. Dejected, I trudged into the office to pay for the tires only because I had to leave. At this point Employee Eddie came in to process my payment. He tried to act surprised when I told him that the oil change he suggested I get was not done. I knew better, besides his effort at acting surprised was weak. I got in my car and started to drive away when it occurred to me that since the oil change was not done when the car was on the lift, had they, in fact, done the alignment. I walked back into the office to ask, but Employee Eddie was nowhere to be found. However, Currie was in the office on the phone, so I figured I would ask him. I waited with another woman for Currie to finish his phone call. I waited and waited and waited. Currie did not look up once and when I listened to his conversation, he was talking about his band and possible upcoming gigs. After seven minutes Employee Eddie came in and told me that the alignment was done. I am not a rich person, but I refuse to spend my money at larger companies, preferring to support smaller local businesses. I went to Currie's for this reason. I probably could have gotten a better deal at Goodyear or Meineke or Costco but they don't need the business. Currie wasted the one thing I can never get back: 2-1/2 hours of my time. I left with the impression that I was being a bother by trying to get the oil change done. Currie is Currie's Tires weakest link. read more
