Currie's is a perfect example of a good old fashioned family run tire shop. Are you going to walk into a boujee waiting room with tv's and mimosas? No. It's simple, straight forward, and no BS. I've used Currie's for a number of service on my vehicle- emergency flat repair, tire replacement, tire rotation; every time I get prompt service, polite employees and ownership, and a fair price. They never try to up-sell or tack on extras. That's why I keep going back and recommend them to anyone in the area. Fun Fact(s)- Currie's has been in operation over 90 years. It was opened in 1929 as the first 24 hour truck stop on Route 1 between NYC and Boston pre I-95. It has been in the Currie family for 3 generations. The current owner Tom also heads "Tim Currie's Motown Band".

NOT 'HALF TO A FULL DAY'. That's an ER visit for a human. In Connecticut, automotive businesses must legally provide a written repair or estimate before performing work, and treating a senior consumer unfairly regarding waiting accommodations can be reported directly as an official dealership business violation I asked the shop if I could wait when I made my appointment the week before and was told yes. What a miserable waste of time traveling to and from for ridiculous gaslighting and mistreatment. Two seats almost connected in front of an intake station and there was a loudly talkative man seated in one - guess he wasn't told minor routine maintenance would take all day.

I've never had to get my own car serviced and repaired before so I wanted to know that I was in good hands. I went on facebook and asked the harbor point group what people recommended for auto repair and the great reviews of scottys caught my eye. I called up scottys and they let me know they were booked for the next 2 days (it was the first) but they said to drop it off and that they would do their best to look at it beforehand. sure enough I got a call the next day with a breakdown of what needed to be done. They gave me an estimate which was HALF WHAT THE JEEP DEALER QUOTED US, plus it didnt include some of the nonsensical stuff they suggested to fix that scottys said did not need to be done. ultimately they were able to get everything done before we headed out for vacation. when I went to go pick it up, they had admitted there was a communication error and that it wasnt ready just yet and that it would be another hour or so. I mentioned that I had just took an uber and had a lot of other things to try to work on and to see if they could try to give me an accurate time estimate. the guy there (isaac i think) just handed me a set of keys and said heres a loaner ill call you! that alone made this a 6 star experience! talk about admitting to a mistake and making up for it with phenomenal service. anywho, i know where ill be getting my oil changed moving forward! thank you guys!

After telling me they were going to waive the diagnosis fee, they took three hours to diagnose the problem and falsely told me I needed to get multiple different things replaced, costing over $2800. After telling them I was going to try and get a 2nd opinion, they charged me $180+ just for the diagnosis. I am now getting it fixed at another place for less than $1000. These guys are thieves!

He topped it off, made sure everything was good to go, then shook my hand again and said, "I hope you get home safe." When I tried to pay, he wouldn't accept anything.
