New Country Toyota of Westport - Accessories

I have never had such a great dealership experience before…read more After moving out of Manhattan, my husband and I wanted to lease a car for the first time in many years and our negotiating skills were not sharp. We had first gone to Toyota Stamford and had a horrible experience - they were very clearly taking advantage of us and not budging on anything, even the aspects of cars you usually negotiate. We decided to give New Country Toyota a try and wow, are we glad we did. We felt like old friends with the staff within minutes. They were so welcoming (and funny!) and started the conversation by asking us what we were looking for in a car, and that they wanted us to test drive a bunch of cars - we really liked that kind of a start, as opposed to the Stamford dealership where they basically said "What do you want" and then wrote a number on a piece of paper and slid it in front of us. We had so much fun test driving with Ray. He was so knowledgeable about what we were driving, knew all the fun gadgets, and also owned one of the cars we drove so it was cool to get his opinion. They also really let you drive the car - punch the gas, stop short, take a hard turn, things that you want to know about your car before you experience it in a real-life situation. We felt really comfortable with him. We never felt rushed, we asked so many questions and they were all answered, we truly felt like the dealership was leveling with us and not trying to get one over. I even brought up different deals on my smart phone and asked them to talk me through what those meant and they really helped me to understand what everything meant. We leased a car with Toyota of New Country and could not be more confident that we went to the right place. I feel like if I have questions or issues I can call them right away to get help. Truly an amazing dealership to work with, and a great experience for something that is typically not fun to do. I 100% recommend!

The cabin air filter was filthy, but says it was changed not only in the Carfax but the dealerships checklist says they changed it which is against the law. After they pretended to check the car out I proved that that it was full of crud (like them) they wouldn't acknowledge that they were wrong, and wouldn't even give me a new $20 filter. I was treated very unfairly especially by the Sales manager the service manager and salesman after promising they would treat me fairly. They didn't take care of me They took advantage of me. I would AVOID the dealership altogether

I was extremely impressed by this place. My family was driving through on a road trip in our full…read moresized old Chevy van. I'm a mechanic myself from NY, and I had done a bunch of repairs on the van not long before I left home...but was feeling kind of a front end "wobble" that got me nervous especially with little kids in the van. I'm not used to going to a mechanic as I do everything myself but we were stuck and I was nervous so I pulled in to this place and explained the situation and asked if they could please check it out for me. At first Nina behind the counter said that they were booked and I would need to leave it there, but when I explained we were traveling and asked if they could take a quick look, she agreed. They had their head technician Germain look at the van. He put it up on the lift and carefully looked it over. I was expecting a five minute thing, but no. He had it up there for probably like twenty minutes. Didn't find anything loose or anything like that, so he took off every single lug nut (all 32 of them on that vehicle) and retorqued them properly. Also checked and adjusted tire pressures. Basically did a thorough lookover and did not cut corners. I even saw him putting tire stem caps on the tires that didn't have them! Nobody bothers with that...lol. I was figuring that they would probably charge me a full diagnostic fee of $100 bucks or more, but I figured safety is worth it. Then Germain went with me on like a 10-15 minute test drive in the van to make sure all seemed good. I could not believe how much time he actually put in to it, and didn't act rushed or impatient. He is a true professional. He normally specializes in performance mods and all that, but it wasn't "beneath him" to look over a big old Chevy van. When I got back, I asked Kas (who seemed to be the manager) how much I owed them, and he said hey we didn't actually do anything, don't worry about it. I couldn't believe it because these guys tied up their bay and gave their head mechanic over for like 45 minutes and didn't even charge a penny! Not to mention the fact that they found the time to get us in there in the first place. We were able to continue our trip safely. Would definitely recommend! Thanks again to Nina, Kas, and Germain!!

Tow truck driver did not leave the car keys with the repairs shop - drove off and the repair shop called the next day asking where the keys were. They could not work on the car without the keys. Mechanic was not happy. Only way to move the car was to push it. Full day at the repair shop wasted - Mistakes do happen, sure ... but charging over $300 for it? NOT ... it's simple, WESTPORT says a lot, this place assumes everyone has lots of money and their objective is to take it. I would never use them again.
