I love Ace Hardware - but all are not created equal. Some are even better than others, and this is one of the overachiever. Their pet lines are unbelievable...special collars and leashes and pet treata and bowls. I went in for a plumbing part and came out with a whole lot more. I am shocked by the poor customer service my husband and I received at this Westlake Ace Hardware. We were looking to purchase a Stihl trimmer. The cashier apologized and stated that they were short-staffed and that the manager, Chandra would be able to assist us soon. We waited patiently for about 15 minutes until we decided to go toward the back. That was when my husband and I witnessed Chandra shouting obscenities at an older man wearing a hat, as they smacked each other in a sexual manner. Regardless of being short staffed, this is extremely vulgar and highly unprofessional. If this is the kind of customer service that Westlake Ace Hardware is known for, we definitely will not be back anytime soon. read more

Woohoo!! I found smoking wood! And they had plenty to spare. I had been driving around trying to find post oak wood to smoke meats, no one has logs anymore (I found the chunks or pellets). But struck gold after a Google search turned up this location had a few bundle in stock. The bag has a good amount of thick logs, we had to chop them down a bit though. Not a problem at all. The logs had been kiln dried which was perfect! The employees were all helpful and friendly, even asking to assist me on loading up my bags. read more

Being an ex Ace Hardware employee I have been proud that I worked for such a great company. Well this store misses the mark by far. I dropped off my Stihl unit over a year ago. They had it for a few months then I called to check on it. They said they were waiting for a part. I called months later and they said the same thing. I go in today to find out it wasn't even worked on at all. Not once did they ever call me to tell me what was going on. Then I go in today and they refuse to cut my key. Will never be going back to this store. I would be embarrassed to work at that location. read more

This was my "go to" hardware store for the longest time. It was practically right around the corner, and while the prices are a little higher than the other big box hardware stores, what I save in time and gas it is worth it. This Ace also has an amazing selection of hard-to-find items. You know all those yellow pull-out drawers filled with doo-hickeys, thing-a-ma-jigs, and what-do-you-call-its. If you need an odd part, chances are you will find it here. While the staff is helpful (I know several by name), they may not always be expert in their isle (but they will always do their best to help). One other noteworthy item about this Ace: Free popcorn. They make it fresh all day long and there have been times I've stopped in just for a snack and to see what's on sale (they have some really good finds from time to time). Lastly, I find value in the Ace Rewards program. Unlike grocery store cards, this program actually gives you cash back (in the form of in-store credit). So if you plan to shop in Ace (most all Aces are part of the program) often, don't turn down the card. Oh, and keep an eye on the rebates... Ace is always having rebate deals and most, if not all, can be done on-line without having to clip and send UPCs (very helpful when you just bought the bag of fertilizer and the UPC is on the bag). read more

This place is about as close to an old time hardware store. Lots of stuff. Plus several people who have a great deal of knowledge about a lot things. And good at giving you a work around to a problem. The store also has a post office much like the hardware stores. They just don't have a coffee pot going and a spot to sit and chat. read more

I visited many of these franchised stores and generally always come away thinking that's a neat place. This is starting to become my go-to store when it comes to picking up paint supplies, batteries and other nick-nacks that are needed around the house. Customer service is pretty good, and the employees that are within the aisle are usually available to assist you with whatever that you need. I've been a rewards member for a few years now, yet haven't seen any sort of returns on it despite visiting this Ace location as well as those within other cities. I suppose that I'll keep waiting. The parking area is pretty decent when you aren't dodging the cars that are perusing the lot aimlessly or wanting to drive quickly to the snow cone store on the corner front entrance. My father needed help with a leaky shower handle and I was convinced into helping. No problem, we take the handle apart and try to work on it, but run into an issue where we can't seem to get the washer (or whatever that part is) out. I take a few pictures and we head over to this Ace Hardware location (my dad likes how knowledgeable the associates on the floor seem to be). My first impression of this place is how clean it is, and how much it seems more like any other ordinary store and less like a hardware store (I guess because it doesn't smell like one). We peruse the plumbing aisle for anything that looks like what we need while keeping an eye out for an associate. Finally, we see an associate helping out another customer and get his attention. After he helps out the previous customer, he tries to help us with our problem but is unable to do so since we seem to have a unique situation that he hasn't ran across (but he stayed with us for a while trying to solve it). Since we can't figure out what we need (and will probably have to go to the Home Depot), we decided to browse around. I ran across some inexpensive sound activated LEDs that would work great in a very dark hallway. I think my dad got some plug adapters. We check out... (LOL, they have Chicken Poop Lipbalm) and are offered a Ace Rewards card (bleh... when will they get rid of these little card programs) so I ask to get one. The cashier scans a new card, and hands it to me (later I find out that I had to fill out the brochure it came with and return it to the cashier - no free postage-). Overall, it was a great experience (even if we didn't get the answer we wanted), and I'd say that this is a fine place to shop for any hardware needs. read more

I've been using this store for about three years. I've always had issues using my preferred payment method apple Pay. I reached out to corporate to complain unfortunately they let me know that this would have to be addressed at the store with the manager. Then Recently apple bumped up the points to 3% so I thought to let the manager know about the problem. He was helpful and did help get my payment approved. I thought this was great and I would be able to do so ongoing. unfortunately today it was the same problem I asked for the manager which happened to be a different manager maybe the assistant manager. She informed me that she was not authorized to approve that kind of transaction I am very disappointed. I actually went to another Ace Hardware close by just to see if it was me or Ace and I was able to use Apple Pay without issue very disappointing. This makes me wonder if the particular store is not accepting cashback points in order to increase profit I think Apple needs to know about this. read more

I'm a 28 female and like this store over Lowe's & home depot any day. I've been going here for 5+ years now and the staff is always super friendly! Good luck on finding staff on a Saturday though, their usually always taken, unless u can wait for a few mins and catch one. But normal for any hardware store on a Saturday. Even though they don't have a lot of big things for hardware its the best store to get the little stuff. This past month I've been going in there almost 3 times a week and they have helped me find everything I needed to finish reconstructing our kitchen and even help me make a puppy playpen out of recycled hardwood flooring. read more

Why do I ever go anywhere but ACE hardware?? I go in needing a small hand rake, and do not see one. There was a long rake that would have been perfect ,had it been 2 ft shorter. So I find this very nice employee and ask him does he have one with about a 6 inch handle? He stops stocking and jumps to help me with a $6.00 rake. Mind you, I had been to a big box store to buy a water hose earlier the same day, but the water hose isle was blocked off . The employee there told me to "just wait" he would be done with inventory in a few minutes.... then I, the customer, could purchase something to keep him employed! I left. So back to my ACE story, the ACE employee cuts the handle to the exact size I need BEFORE I purchase it, and rounds the end so I do not get splinters in my hands, AND has it at the counter before I even get done shopping. I almost fainted the service was so good. I ended up buying a water hose and other items while I was there. I was once again reminded of the power of good service. Really large selections become a non issue when you can walk in and out with exactly what you need. I will always go to ACE first before I stop at a big box store, such a difference in the way customers are treated. It is that way any ACE I go to but this location won me over. Didn't like the color of paint that I picked out, it was almost a light blue in the day light and the green that I wanted in the evening light. I thought I would go up there and see if there was anything they could do. I thought at most, they would just remix the original can to give it a little more of a green tint but they let me pick out a completely different color and remixed a brand new can, no questions asked, awesome service! read more
