On May 24th I decided to purchase a Weber Grill from Ace. An E335 Weber Natural Gas Grill, Weber Grill cover, Weber Griddle totaling $1,674.89. Learned the Justin Ace Hardware was the closest store that had this grill in stock. Great fairly close should be simple. It's been anything but simple. Originally, I was under the impression the grill would be delivered on Tuesday, May 26th but as the order processed the delivery changed to Thursday, May 28th. I received no communication from Ace with any updates so I called the Ace Justin location and learned my grill was ready and it would be delivered in a few hours (Thursday morning). I also learned though that the Weber Griddle wasn't ready as it was in route to be delivered the next day. I learned the Ace Rhome location had a griddle and asked if they could stop and get it and as it would prevent a trip the following day. Great everything is lining up perfectly. I asked the guy the condition of the grill and told him I was pretty picky. No scratches or dents and to inspect it closely. He assured me it looked great. The delivery guy arrived within just a few hours and I joined him on the truck to give the grill a go over. It was super noticeable that it had scratches on the stainless area near the knobs, directly in front. I grab some stainless cleaner to make sure and sure enough it was "damaged" and I simply explained to the delivery person I couldn't accept it. He indicated they had problems with the guy who does the assembly but that he was friends of the owner. I'm not sure how the scratches got there but knew I wasn't buying a Weber grill for $1,700 that was damaged. I ended up calling Andrew, a manager and explained the situation. The driver was on the phone with another manager who insisted the Entire order be returned. Andrew apologized and the driver left with all 3 items. The next day the credit had not been processed. I called and spoke again with Andrew the next day and he indicated I needed to cancel the order via their online platform in order to get the credit. Great, signed on with him and canceled the order. Received a notification that it would take 1-2 days to process the credit. What? Ok no worries. 2 days go by and I call their web team since I placed the order via Aces Website. The CSR called the store, confirmed it had been returned and explains it would take 7-10 days for a credit to post. It was at that very point I became upset and asked to speak to a manager. He indicated I would need to speak to the store management team. What? I requested that he call them and get them on the phone so I wasn't going back and forth. I waited on hold for approximately 15 minutes until someone at the store jumped on. I believe his name was Mike. He indicated the issue was with the griddle but he was taking care of it and I should see the credit post shortly. Nope. Here I am and it's the weekend and no credit had posted to my American Express. I've already purchased another Weber Grill from Lowe's and it will be delivered on June 6th. Fingers crossed. I went with the Weber stealth model to avoid the unnecessary scratches to the stainless steel even though I just had a new secondary refrigerator delivered and Lowe's did an amazing job. Every step was communicated and they were on time, professional and best part no scratches. I like to buy local. But it's times like this where you learn a lesson. ACE Justin...DO BETTER! Went to exchange a Sodastream cartridge and the process was very easy. Unfortunately, when I got home and installed the cartridge, I realized it was the incorrect cartridge. I went back to Ace to get the correct cartridge which they did not have. I asked for my original cartridge and the clerk said "I don't think we can do that." I said "check?" And the clerks just stood there. I went back to the end cap to verify what they had. I walked back to the counter and I asked again for my original cannister back and the other clerk said "I don't think we can do that." The three of us stood there and they NEVER asked for a manager to check if they could do the exchange - just told me they didn't think they could. So frustrated at the lack of customer service or initiative since they didn't THINK they could do it - they never CONFIRMED they could or could not do it. They just stood and stared at me I picked up my cartridge and I walked out and said I'll never come back to this &@% store again. Please train your cashiers better. Confirm what can & can't be done before you lose a customer. This is too bad. The garden center and department folks are great. read more

I can't count the number of times I have gone to ACE in search of an item I was having difficulty finding and they had it. This is definitely a go to place for all a homeowner needs to keep things working in the house. The staff is absolutely fantastic. So helpful and so knowledgeable. Ordered online for local pickup of the $1200 Ego lawn mower and when I got there I was given the display item. The mower was very dusty and the additional blades were missing. Worst of they gave me the 7.5 AH battery which is not the correct battery for this model. When I brought the mower back to try and resolve the issue I was told they don't even know where the correct battery is and they do have a 12AH in stock but I will have to pay the difference. Not sure how that was going to resolve with me already spending $1200 for a mower. They also offered to sell me the lower model. Again I'm not sure how that was going to resolve the issue. Turns out they dont have any in stock and thats why they gave me the display at full price with missing items. I end up returning the order and will not be going back to Ace Hardware. Back in MN I was given a returned bagging system for the Zero Turn at another Ace location. read more

Usually love ACE but this location is the opposite of a "Helpful Hardware Place". Went in to return a product I had ordered online and the item couldn't be returned because they didn't have the product in their system. They then told me they could do nothing for me and I had to obey the policy online. Their online policy states: 30 Day Return Policy Where to Return: We recommend that you make returns of online purchases to an Ace retail store near you that can issue you a refund (less applicable shipping, handling and other charges). If you do not have an Ace retail store near you or if you need alternative return instructions, please contact Customer Care at 888-827-4223 When I brought this online policy to the managers attention, where it says to do what I had done and gone to the physical store for a return, he just stared blankly and said 'yeah we can't help you', even though I was able to have him verbally recognize that their request to have me follow the online policy was in direct contradiction to them letting me know they couldn't help me. I understand things happen, however to be met with such unhelpful and non solution based assistance was very disappointing as I'm a big fan of the ACE chain knowing there customer service is usually held to high standards. No one even offered to call the online store to see if they could help process the return with me there. No solutions, just blank stares, and repeating "we can't help." read more

Nice people that work here while prices on most stuff cant be best. If I need something like bolts it's my go to but ended up buying some plungers which were overpriced/garbage I was not thrilled about. That's the reason for a star being taken away. All and all I rather get the simple things here rather then spending a few extra dollars at home depot read more

I love that you can walk into this store with something in your hand, and say "I need one of these". There are specialists for departments so if the person that you have helping you can't figure it out, someone else can! Store is clean and friendly, and beats the heck outta running all the way to Roanoke or Flower Mound.
