However, the woman who helped measure me and pinned my dress knew her stuff. She was very thorough and kept rechecking to make sure I had enough space. She told me my dress would be ready to pick up in one week. The price for my alteration was a little more than I anticipated ($18), but the work done was flawless. (The reason for -1 star) The reason for 4 stars is because they told me this price when I dropped it off, and because I was pressed for time and this is the only one in the area with good reviews, I went with them. Also, they got all 3 pieces done in the time they said they would. And they made my suit that was covered with weird stains look like new. You debate if it's worth the price. This is one of the few decently reviewed places in the area surrounding Lowell, so I went to it instead of others actually in the city. I'm probably gonna go somewhere else for half the price, I just have to find one that has good reviews first.

here's an update on becoming a regular with michelle's cleaners: fantastic! i picked up my two…read morecashmere sweaters today and they're wonderful. when i originally dropped them off i asked for a cleaning and to remove the storage smells it may have lingering. once i got home and removed the plastic they were both so soft along with no odor. i did have a few moth holes in the green sweater that i plan on repairing by sewing and i made sure to mentioned it. i appreciate that they weren't ripped further nor any additional holes once inspected. i make sure to tip when i'm able to because the work is shown whenever i pick up my drop offs. it's great to have oscar and the owner interact kindly, it makes me feel welcomed and keeps me coming back. michelle's will continue to have my business and i'm happy to always support local small businesses. i prefer quality and will pay the price to meet that expectation, i highly recommend them!

i've driven by this place many a time but never thought i'd have to actually use their services…read moreuntil this afternoon when, upon putting yet another $1.50 worth of quarters into my apartment building's one dryer (for, oh, 25+ people), i realized my clothes were still sopping wet. *damn* so i hurriedly put the clothes in a basket and went over to laundry day. in a frenzied state, i asked some random woman, who happened to be an employee there (lucky me) how much it costs to dry. i think she could sense my frenzied state (it was a bad day for other reasons as well) and told me to just put them in (they have those HUGE MEGA dryers) and she'd turn it on for me. 25 cents per 10 min which came out to the same it would have cost me at the apartment building, but no way would the 75 cents i gave her for a half hour have compared to what 75 cents would have done in the dryer at the apartment. we're talking FAST & HOT & QUICK- just how i like it. luckily, i brought a magazine to tide me over. the place was very clean, i must say. they had adequate seating and a few tvs here and there. i later learned, and from other reviews, that you typically buy a card to do washes and dry; guess i was just lucky that this woman gave me a break. the only complaint i had was that it was bitterly cold in there- even the woman who was so nice to me who worked there was bundled up in a jacket when i left. not sure how much they charge to wash, but those MEGA dryers are worth every sweet penny!
