I called Daisy's cleaners almost in tears the Saturday before Easter. I was leaving for my destination wedding early Tuesday and my seamstress had accidentally damaged my wedding dress with ink. Trying to get the ink out, the seamstress made the problem worse. Jim, the owner, suggested I come in to see if he could help. He went above and beyond. Took his time to get all the stains out and made my dress look new again. To top it off, he refused to charge me and gave me coffee wipes to take with me in case I had any further troubles in Mexico. I will forever be grateful to Jim for taking me in last minute and going out of his way to make sure my dress was ready in time for my trip. I had searched far and wide for a vendor to professionally clean and preserve my wedding dress. I looked at quality, reputation, price etc. Daisy's has this process down to a science. When you bring your dress in, the owner reviews it with you and you talk through every detail, stain and memory : ). He explained the whole process: First, is the cleaning phase. They have three people hand clean every inch and you come in after cleaning to make sure it is up to your standards. This part takes about a week or so. Once you approve the cleaning then they keep it for another week to package it up in museum- quality packaging. They call you when it is ready and they show it to you one last time before closing it up, so they confirm that you take home the right one :) He even said to me "Don't worry, I will treat it like it is my daughters." He understands how much this dress means to you and takes that careful mentality into every step of this process. He also reduced the price for me because my dress was not a large ball gown with lots of layers. Overall, an amazing experience. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

Be aware that this is not a dry cleaner. I brought a dozen very expensive cashmere sweaters to be cleaned. Even though the tags clearly said 'dry clean only', they wet cleaned them and they all shrunk. While they did offer to try and block them back to their original size, it was not successful. I felt that I should share this story with all of you out there looking for a great dry cleaner with an exceptional quality and customer service. I've recently brought in a couple of my winter jackets for dry cleaning at Daisy Cleaners... when I came to pick them up I quickly inspected my favorite jacket and found some damage around one of the sleeves. Per their staff instructions, I left the jacket there for the owner to investigate. Within 2 days Jim, the owner, called me and left a voicemail. After we finally connected, he told me all about the investigation and store policy regarding such matters. I have to say that Jim handled the situation with utmost professionalism and with an exceptional customer service. It was a great example of how businesses, no matter how big or small, should care about their customers. I highly recommend Daisy Cleaners. usually very dependable but latest experience i felt ripped off and insulted when i asked why. i brought in two cotton shirts for laundering and pressing... like i've done before, this time one shirt cost $3.10, the other $7.60. called and spoke with the manager, her litany of lame reasons were insulting, rather than admit a mistake was made. she said the shirt had snaps... it does not said it was heavily soiled... it was not said it required dry cleaning... why??? tag says machine washable .... said bring it by so she can look at it... she leaves at 3pm... ya... i work too.... 6-5pm....she said drop it by and she'll call me later...forget it... i'll take my business elsewhere.... read more

I brought my Wedding Gown to Jim at Daisy Cleaners for cleaning and preserving. I should preface my comment with my gown was quite the trifecta: crystals, intricate beading, pearls, long train, princess style and silk fabric. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most difficult my dress was a 10. I was very apprehensive letting go of my gown because I was fearful that my beautiful dress would be ruined in the cleaning process and not make it to preserving. Per recommendation from the owner of the bridal shop and executive director of the design house of the gown, I drove from Massachusetts to New Hampshire to meet with Jim. Jim was knowledgeable about the process and fabric, upfront regarding the challenges faced and honest that the process would be no easy feat with my gown. I left my gown with Jim, worried and in tears on car ride home hoping I made the right choice. Jim truly went above and beyond he sent me pictures throughout the process advising me of what he was doing to my gown and where we were in the process. He even saved any beading that fell off the dress (which was next to none as he was so gentle). Jim had me review and inspect my gown prior to make sure that I was happy prior to placing in box. My gown was so large that it is hard to believe he fit with my veil and shoes with it in one museum quality box to preserve. Based upon my experience with Jim at Daisy, I have recommended all of my friends and family. I think it was the best decision I made and Jim was wonderful to work with. Well let's begin by I only knew about this place from the Bridal shop that I purchased my gown from, boy should I have trusted my gut and stuck to some place around Boston. Last week I drove up to Daisy Cleaners and dropped off my dress to be cleaned as there was a spot on it that needed to come out before I could wear it. I was told the dress would be ready by Friday and if there was a problem someone would call me, only because I stressed that I was driving from Boston and didn't want to waste my time. This past Saturday I drove up to Daisy Cleaners with my sister and went to pick up my dress. Well where could my dress be they asked? It wasn't hanging in the window and it wasn't in the "boiler room" as one girl said. Imagine the panic and shock that is now coming over me. Why would you even think a wedding dress would be in the boiler room?? Well the dress had to be somewhere because their trusty computer said it was "bagged" on the 16th. Well, where is it and you better find it quickly! After numerous attempts to the owners, oh because now it could be at his home, no one would answer the phone. Next call, was to the girls sister who also worked at Daisy and she told me all about how she was out sick and how with her kids, personally at this point I have been in your store for at least a half an hour and just want my wedding dress. Please stop stalling me! Finally the owner's wife called and said oh yea we have it at the house. She finally shows up and tells me he took it home "by accident" when he took others home to do whatever with and said to me I didn't think you would be up here so quickly for it. I said to her does the slip not say ready by Friday, sorry not letting my wedding dress sit in the hands of people I don't know. After the panic, almost heart attack, and no one knowing where my dress was for a good 45 minutes (which let me tell you felt like days...) they still had the audacity to charge me for the cleaning. Last year when my daughter told me the dress she hoped to wear on her wedding day was my wedding dress, which had first been worn by my mother in 1951, my heart sank. The last time I'd seen the dress, my younger sister was wearing it at her wedding in 1987. I found it in the basement, rolled up in a ball, in an old moving box, having never been cleaned. Originally bought at Bergdorf Goodman's in NYC, it is made of silk organza with lace ribbons, and is delicate, feminine and unique. Daisy Cleaners was helpful, professional and friendly! It's true that people bring their dresses in from all over New England- the shop was full of wedding dresses. I had my dress pressed and they charged me about $30.00 (I had a shorter, cocktail-length dress- they'd charge more for the floor-length, beaded things...). I got the dress back in a new garment bag with a cardboard bodice-form to keep it in shape. It was picture-perfect for the most important day of my life! I would highly recommend Daisey Cleaners. They were refered to me from Madelines Daughter and they did a fantastic job cleaning my wedding gown for me. To give you an idea of how good of a job, the owner personally offered to pic up, and drop off my dress at my house, as he was visiting the city I live in for family visits. Further, since my dress had been worn across a huge lawn, it had grass stains all accross the hem. He (Jim?) went in depth describing the cleaning process they use, and it's special application for my very particular fabric. I did not think they were too expensive, as I had been quoted HUGE amounts for cleaning this dress, and they had the state of the art equipment. This post is LONG OVERDUE!!! Last year, I opened the bag to my wedding dress only to find huge yellow stains on it. Being impulsive, I grabbed my tide pen and tried to get them out myself. Not only did the stains get worse, they turned brown and the bleach actually burned the fabric making it VERY difficult to get out. In a panic, I researched cleaners in the area and came across Daisy Cleaners. Jim immediately took me to the back of the store to show me the products and try out some ideas. At that point, nothing had worked but he assured me that he had other tricks up his sleeve. With a pit in my stomach, I left him to work his magic. He went out of his way to text me updates as he researched, tried different techniques, and included pictures to boot! With my wedding less than a week away...It seemed as if Jim must've put his entire business on hold as he worked to help me with my problem. I agree that the tailor they use is just awful (I previously reviewed Prospect Tailor... terrible!), so just go somewhere else for your tailoring needs. Daisy Cleaners has been around forever. I remember coming here with my mother when I was a little kid. We still use them now and will continue to do so. They cleaned and preserved my wedding dress beautifully, I have brought in my husbands formal fire department uniforms, along with a few items that I dont dare to wash myself (because I have a bad habit of shrinking everything I put into the laundry), a few items that had to be done ASAP for a wake/funeral, and a couple of my nice purses that desperately needed cleaning. I picked up one of these purses today, I honestly didnt have much hope for it - I've had this bag for years, it is a light tan canvas Coach purse with green leather piping around the seams. Its a beautiful bag, but was absolutely FILTHY and every other cleaner I took it to wouldnt attempt it. I brought it to Daisy with a few other items and when I picked it up today my jaw dropped! It looks like a new bag! They did a fantastic job and I cant wait to use my 'new' old bag again! read more

Not being from the area, I just want to say that Jim and his employees gave me the best service I had experienced in a long time. My daughter's wedding gown, and the entire wedding party needed to be pressed and held until we needed them for the big day. We were staying at a hotel and had no room to keep them. They were all so very accomodating. They called me to look at gowns to be sure everything was ok before hand. I was so impressed. I decided to have my daughter's gown preserved there as well. I wish we had that kind of service in AZ . They really made me feel like someone they knew and would take good care of my needs as if they had been doing business with me forever. I have been using Daisy for many years because the location is convenient, but I've had enough issues over the years that I'm going to find a new dry cleaners. For me, the major issue is the owner, although I have also been extremely saddened by special garments being ruined. The first time I had an issue and spoke with the owner, he was very arrogant and unsympathetic. I chalked it up to a bad day. His attitude never changed, though. If they were more clear about what the risks are in dry cleaning certain items before handing over the article and handled items with more care, that would help, but my main issue is with the lack of compassion. If the owner at least acted like he cared and explained what the issues were in a non-arrogant, non-condescending way, then I wouldn't necessarily choose another cleaner. It's surprising when owners don't realize how beneficial kindness is (not necessarily refunds) in keeping customers and getting referrals. read more

We have used this dry cleaners for the last 4 years of living in salem nh. They have always done a great job. It is also one of the very few places that will even attempt to clean indian clothes like salwar kameezs, saris, and chania cholis. If they cant do something or they think that something will get ruined they will either let you upfront or will return it to you saying they did not attempt. They have always finished our clothes on time and we have had a great experience with them. read more

I'm getting married and always dreamed of wearing my mother's wedding dress. I was referred to daisy's by my seamstress. The dress is yellow and smelled of cedar from my mom's chest. I really just wanted to get the smell out. the owner came and looked at the dress and said he could guarantee about 65% on how it would turn out. I had been looking for a wedding gown cleaner for a long time and finally found Daisy Cleaners 2 years after my wedding. I'd read many online reviews of other cleaners from brides whose gowns were damaged or lost and who had no recourse, so I decided I'd rather take the risk of potential stains setting in versus trust my dress to a questionable cleaner. There weren't a lot of reviews for Daisy Cleaners regarding wedding dresses, but there also weren't any seriously negative comments either. Before I brought my dress in, I thought I'd call with a few questions and ended up speaking with Jim. He took the time to speak with me and I felt more confident that this was a person who really cared about his business. He was even leaving for the day fairly soon but said he'd wait for me to get there so we could go over any details in person. When I showed up, he introduced my to his whole family who works there as well. That tells me that they take a great deal of pride in their work, and since it's family run their reputation and livelihood is at stake. He also took the time to show me a dress that had just finished getting cleaned and it was sparkling white. The before pictures were on his phone and it was seriously dirty, so I was able to benefit from a real example before I handed my dress over. Ultimately, when I got my dress back all the stains were removed, all the beadwork and sequins are intact, and it looks brand new.
