I chose WSC because they were one block away. They came out and provided estimate. I waited about one year to complete job. My suggestion would be to get everything in writing before you make an agreement. The tell you one thing, but the office tells you another. No one communicates which leads to complaints. My job was finished except the told me that they couldn't concrete around gas meter because of old line. Well Nicor remove old line, and I asked WSC if they can come back to fill area that I originally paid for. They said it will cost me $150. I couldn't believe it, because they were one block from my house! It's not like it was a big inconvenience, but that is how the treat there customers! Also the office person is rude, and screams, and does not treat customer with respect. read more

Pat and his crew were awesome!! I had a garage floor that was cracking and a large old crumbling blacktop driveway. They worked like a well oiled machine even in some of the hottest days of the summer. They were extremely professional. Showed up early, worked quickly and quietly! Seriously, they all knew what they were doing and barely had to talk to get the job done. They were family oriented- during the 5-6 days they were here there was not 1 curse word uttered! The job looks great!! Over 1800 sf of cement and I am thrilled. They paid attention to every detail. Including, making sure everything was blocked off and safe during the destruction and the finish work. They even stayed after they were done for almost an hour with plastic tarps at the ready, because there was a threat of rain!! Amazing!!!! read more

Had my front stoop replaced. It was a small job and no one wanted to do it. Got a permit in case I could find someone. West Suburbs agreed to do it while in the area doing another job. I had to pay the minimum price. They came as scheduled and did a nice job, however they needed to remove a decorative post to do it. I asked if they could replace it when the cement was ready. They said they don't do that and it's considered a "railing" in their contract. To sum up: The work looks great, was done in a timely manner and the workers came when scheduled. Read the contract carefully and ask questions. Apparently though they do concrete well, they do ONLY concrete. read more

I cannot say enough about this company. Price was about the same as 2 other contractors, but the pride and professionalism of the owner, Pat was extraordinary! He poured new stairs and sidewalk in exposed aggregate that is so beautiful, another random concrete contractor stopped to admire it. Also poured a long driveway, and improved the whole look of my home. His men relocated the plants they had to remove, and they even came back to rebuild the garden wall that was partially removed. I am very pleased with the work, and would recommend this company highly. read more

We called about four concrete contractors to get an estimate on replacing our front steps and walkway, basement steps, walkway and stairs to our garage, and our 110 feet long driveway. We chose Western Suburbs Concrete because Pat, the owner, came out the next day after we called. He was polite, took measurements of all the areas, and listened to our concerns. It was a real joy having them do this amount of work. It was not a small job, and Pat completed it all in less than 5 days, with very little inconvenience on our part. I don't recommend them because they not reliable,on Wednesday 10/1/2018 i was driving on the m4 behind truck number (mix 268) and a stone has flyed from his track and hitt my van witch I bought on Sunday 7/1/2018 and broke the windscreen, I called the company and they told me his name is josh and gave me his Mobil number I called and sms him but he didn't respond, I called wsc the second day and I spoke to the same person how gave me the details and he said he will call him and get back to me but he didn't and they driver still egnoring me. I hired Western Suburbs Concrete the summer of 2016 to complete over $25,000 worth of concrete work at my home. Here is a detailed list of grievances: 1. Prior to starting the job, they did not call the gas company, as required by law, to locate and mark the gas service line. Because of this, during excavation they cut the gas line near my house, risking injury to my daughter and the residents of the surrounding homes. When the Ni Cor Gas Company crew showed up to make the necessary repairs, I heard them question the owner (Pat Bernardo) why he failed call and have the line(s) marked and he stated it was because "he was in a hurry to start the job". THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! 2. They clipped the side of my garage with their Bobcat and damaged trees on the property, because they were too lazy to tie them back. They ignored the damages! 3. They did not place plywood down on the public walk to protect it from their Bobcat, which had been replaced by the village the prior year, causing irreparable damages. Again, just because they were lazy and did not bring it with them that day. Note: Their shop is only 2 miles from my home. 4. The new concrete in the garage is not properly pitched and when it's wet, the water forms a large puddle. 5. The new concrete apron near the street is not properly pitched and holds water. 6. The owner Pat Bernardo knocked over his gas can, spilling gasoline on newly installed sod, he yelled out some choice words of profanity and then walked away. Did he replace the damaged sod? NO! Trying to deal with them in a professional manner is impossible, as you are met with hostility and combative behavior, by both the owner Pat Bernardo and his wife Daniella, who runs his home office. I have also discovered that they DO NOT warranty their concrete work. Because of the above, I DO NOT recommend using this company and suggest you examine all concrete companies more carefully (references and work), before signing on the dotted line! read more
