Location is great, parking was easy to find, relaxed vibes inside. HORRIBLE SERVICE! I just went to a paint and sip kind of event last night at WRB. After we got settled in the back room, my friend and I went up front to order drinks. My friend asked if there is any food available and the lady at the bar snapped back saying "I don't have even two minutes to make anything". There were maybe 2 or 3 other people in line with us checking in for the event, so it's not like they were slammed. My friend asked if she DID have two minutes, what kind of food is offered. We were told they have pretzels and some kind of sausage thing, and that if we come back up later, she *might* have time to heat something up. Are you kidding me?!?!? I wish I would have gotten her name to include it in this review. Horrible, horrible service. Such a great spot but I'll never come back because of her. read more

Stopped in on a summer afternoon to this cool brewery, what a find! The brewery is spacious with a wooden bar table seating and had air conditioning. I was impressed at the number of selections brewed here. My hubby loved his IPA and the powder wedge porter I had at the suggestion of our beer tender Dakota, who was great helping me pick one, based on what I like. It was one of the best Porters I've had in a while! We were in a rush this time but definitely will be back to sample some stouts as well cause if the porter is that good I look forward to try more of their beers. Cheers! read more

A great stop in Poulsbo, after a very warm ferry ride over to Brainbridge Island. Interesting and welcoming interior, modeled after quite a bit of old lumber harvesting tools and red cedar plank walls throughout.. thus the name..Western Red. Not too busy when I first arrived, but as the Kraken game was playing, a few people arrived to watch as well as a party starting upstairs. Donna was great telling me about the history behind the name and knowledgeable about the great selection of beers they made, as well as ciders and wines available. Of course, seeing they made a red ale, it was first to try on my list. Not too heavy, smooth drinking and great flavor, a good solid dark red ale. It went down quickly, being a unusually warm afternoon for the area. Next up, was the Hop Assault, which was surprisingly smooth given the amount of hops, four varieties jammed into this crisp, perfectly hopped masterpiece, well made and not over hopped, another great beer actually anytime, I can see why it is one of the popular beers. I still had time for one more, before checking in to the hotel, so I selected the Strawberry blonde ale, another popular one, and another with a low octane level, lots of strawberry flavor, which was great, as most strawberry ale I've tried, have been a little weak on strawberry taste. Definitely the best strawberry blonde I've had. Lots of seating inside and you can see where they make all the brews as well, light snacks are available and plenty of parking, it's a little outside the busy downtown area of Poulsbo, which helps with parking. My wife and I stopped into WRB while visiting Poulsbo since they were listed in our Hop Passport. Free limited time (2 hr) parking can be found on the street. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Indoors is large and spacious. Perfect for large groups. WRB is family friendly. WRB offers complimentary popcorn and cards/board-games to enjoy while slurping on a couple of pints. Outdoor food is allowed since WRB doesn't have a kitchen on-site. My wife and I each enjoyed a couple Single Buck IPA's and Export Stout's for $6 each. We both enjoyed our slurp choice. Orders are place at the counter so staff interaction is minimal. The interaction on the day of our visit was friendly. Thank you WRB for whetting our whistle. read more

I was excited to come to Western Red, a new brewery that I never have been to before and my experience with the beer just wasn't all that great. I saw that they had something on the experimental side, a Mojito IPA. The beer was fairly tasteless. I wasn't able to detect much of the Mojito idea and it didn't really taste much like an IPA either. It was disappointing. Steve got their Power Wedge Porter and while I thought his tasted a little bit better than what I ordered it too didn't have robust flavor like what we were looking for. The taproom is just a few blocks from downtown Poulsbo and is an easy walk from there to the brewery. The taproom itself is pretty cool, nice and roomy and able to have quite a few customers without it becoming cramped. The staff are fairly friendly as well so that is something that's going for it. read more

I love this place and it is in such a great area of Poulsbo. We usually park near hear, have a beer and then walk into town for dinner. They have a stable and fairly wide selection of beers you don't see at every craft brewery, including some great German beers Kolsch and Marzen. The vibe and decor is really cool with a lot of custom made tables and chairs. I highly recommend WRB. read more

I love Western Red Brewing! WRB is a newer brewery in Poulsbo. Staff here are incredibly nice and friendly. They have a nice variety of brews that rotate and they are passionate about their beer! Try a sampler to find your favorite beer on tap! I got a tangerine beer that tasted great! You can also get growlers filled up here to take home their great creations. The brewery is dog friendly and they have treats and a water bowl for pups. You can order food from outside delivery places and have it delivered here or choose something off of their snack menu. They have peanuts, smoked salmon and cheeses as well. The tasting room itself is really nicely designed. I love the big wooden bar top and tables. They also have Thomas Edison lights, which are my favorite! All in all I highly recommend Western Red Brewing. I really enjoyed the brewery and experience. read more

I'm not the most familiar with beers and the kinds there are so when I ordered a porter I didn't really enjoy the flavor. I talked to the bartender about suggestions and what kind of flavors I enjoyed because I didn't like the flavor of the drink I had, he helped me find a great tasting beer and didn't charge me for it. Just sitting drinking a red kolsh. Delicious! Nice/friendly staff. Very clean interior. They play music like Mumford and Sons. Family friendly. They have drinks for the wee ones. They also have snacks. I ordered a frankfurter on a pretzel bun. Not bad at all. I will definitely be back. The only advice I have for the place is to turn up the thermostat a tad. 3/4 of the guests are wearing jackets. Also, a second tv on the opposite wall as the first one. Visited on a Friday afternoon in June. I had the Powder Wedge Porter (easy drinking but good flavor), and the wife had the Single Buck IPA (citrus first with a nice hope finish). Both beers were excellent. We had a smoked salmon and smoked gouda plate as a snack. Wow. What a pleasant change from normal pub food! It was super tasty, not too heavy, and no carbs other than the beer (which was totally worth it). The staff was super friendly, and the space had a nice vibe. Highly recommend. read more

Just found this place by accident last week. It's a great family owned and run brewery with a wide selection of beer made in house. Beckoned inside by Dorthea, aka, Grandma, we sat down and had an excellent Scotch Ale and a chat. We'll be back. BTW- Thursday night is trivia night and most tables are reserved. Hands down the best brewery around!!! Been here twice already the first time me and the wife got a flight like we normally do whenever we try a new brewery. The flight was pretty cheap 5 different beers for $8! Normally we only like 2 or 3 beers out of the flight but we LOVED all 5!!! The Red Kolsh was by far my favorite though! They also have a few food options there as well have not tried it yet but I know the popcorn is free and they allow outside food. They s is a great new addition to the Poulsbo brewery scene. I really liked the interior, it definitely had a cabin feel to it, felt very comfortable inside. We went here no to long after they had just opened. Brewery has a logging/sawmill theme. Very nicely done. Brewers were in the logging/ timber industry and have many pieces decorating brewery. Now for the beer. We ordered a flight and all beers were flat. I chalked this up to just being opened. I'm sure they have fixed the issue and will be back for a pint next time I'm in town. read more

Enjoyed visiting this brewery on a trip to Poulsbo. My fiance and I both tried a flight of 5 different beers and we enjoyed pretty much every single one we tried. We drank stouts, IPAs, and lighter beers as part of our flights. I even tried the passionfruit cider which was very delicious and would be a perfect beverage in the summer. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable and we enjoyed playing a game of cribbage while visiting with friends. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing atmosphere and a cold beverage! read more

Been here a couple times. Compared to some of the other Poulsbo breweries I would say WRB has the most traditional tasting beer. Slippery Pig has plenty of unique beers (some good - some not so good), while Sound has great STRONG Belgium beers. WRB just has kind of "normal" beers which in a way is refreshing. The decor is sawmill meets kitsch with lots of logging nick-knacks and beautiful wood tables. They have free popcorn and are very family and dog friendly. I would say one of the most well put together breweries in Poulsbo...just wish it felt a little more cozy. Nice additional to P-Town. read more

We really love this place! We have been here several times and always feel welcomed, with good service and great beer! It is a nice be able to bring our little dogs in and enjoy the atmosphere, good food, free popcorn. There's a pizza place a few steps away, that delivers to WRB, and WRB itself has some very nice food items on the menu. There are lots of board games available, and a group meets for cribbage regularly. It's just a really cool neighborhood place that makes me wish I lived close by! read more

We came in after purchasing a Groupon for two flights and souvenir glasses and we had a great time. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable and the wood theme of the place was beautiful. We enjoyed talking to Denver and learning a bit more about the beers as it was our first time visiting a brewery, he even gave us two of their wooden coasters as an anniversary gift! The beers were good and it was great to try different things in the flight. My favorite was the nitro porter (first time having a nitro) and my husband's was the hefeweizen with the orange.
