This a is great place to enjoy really tasty wines, foods and excellent customer service in a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. We joined another couple for a wine flight and a charcuterie and cheese tray. I chose the red wine flight and my wife chose the fruit wines. We're both red wine lovers but we're open to new, sweeter flavors if done right. We sat in their outside patio in the back at a table with a large umbrella over it. We could've picked a better table since we were near the exhaust fan to an air conditioner, and my wife and one of our friends wound up sitting partly in the sun as it moved to where the umbrella couldn't block it. For me, the wafting hot air from the exhaust fan was offset my a gentle breeze blowing over me as I sat in complete shade the whole time. We could've moved to a number of open tables but it was our choice to sit and remain there The red wine flight had four wines. My favorite turned out to be the 1st wine of the flight--Barking Dog Red. It's made from Columbia Valley, WA grapes: 40% Sangiovese, 40% Merlot 20% Syrah. It was a really good quaff and we bought a couple of bottles since my wife also thought it was the best-tasting red of the flight. The other three reds were very nice but this wine was clearly great for drinking on its own or with food. The four fruit wines flight was surprising to me, being among the best I've ever tasted--and I'm not a fan of most fruit wines. The standouts that we purchased were the Tropical Breeze fruit blend, the Blood Orange and the Blackberry/Raspberry. For me, the Tropical Breeze blend-- peach, mango and pineapple-was wonderful in its gentle complexity that delivered a wonderful tropical nose and flavors. My other favorite was the Blood Orange--in your face nose and flavors that set it apart from any other fruit wine I've drank. I totally loved it. The Black/Raspberry was very good--my wife liked it better than I did--but I'll still drink it! The charcuterie/cheese platter also had almonds prepared a couple of different ways, chocolate cookies and candies. It was a combo of two or three of their separate platters and was very enjoyable. We've been to their tasting room on Winslow Way but this was a much more enjoyable experience. We will be back. I especially want to make a return visit because a couple of spots down from the winery there's a pop up kitchen space. On the day we were there, two young men had a pro BBQ rig going and to me it smelled like they were smoking beef brisket. I gotta give that a try the next time if they're cooking it up. But this tasting room stands on its own as a great place to spend some time, drink and eat, and enjoy live music in the evenings. read more

What a great find! We went mostly because they were dog friendly and will definitely be back because of the outstanding service and great wine choices! We had a reservation outside on the back patio and tried all of their flights in our party because we hadn't been before. Quite a few good choices for all different tastes. Their cheese board was surprisingly good and we tried the wine chips but wouldn't recommend them . The service was stellar and we are planning to return next time we're in the area. They have a tasting room on Main Street that would be worth visiting if you don't have a car but I don't believe it's dog friendly. read more

We were able to make reservations ahead of time online. Lots of parking available. The flights are $18-20 but if you purchase 2 bottles, you get the flight for free. Wines range from $25-60. On the Saturday we went, there was also oysters available being served by another vendor which was fun! The cheese board was pretty decently sized, sometimes they can be very small at other places. Went here on our first day visiting Seattle. So far it's been the highlight of our entire trip! What made it so so special was 100 percent because of the amazing service by Shannon and Christina. I've been to this location for Fletcher Bay twice now and I once again had a great time! I came in with a small group of friends and sat in their outdoor patio - I loved the fire pits & comfy chairs. I went with the premium red wine tastings and really liked them all. Pretty big pours and because they provide all 4 wines at the same time, each person can go at their own pace (which I really prefer). Fantastic place to eat outside and enjoy some wine even on a cold and rainy day. Make a reservation if you can for the fire pit. You can pick up some pizza from That's a some Pizza right next door. It only took 15 minutes to order the pizza and walk over to the winery. Perfect way to end a busy day at the beach. Highly recommend coming here especially on a Sunday in February because it seems a little bit less busy. read more

This winery was the first that my friend and I made it to while on Bainbridge Island. A small location with friendly staff, the Fletcher Bay Winery is a nice stop. Located in the Coppertop Loop plaza area, the winery included a tasting bar, a couple smaller tables, and a taller/longer table from which to sample various wines. A 5-pour wine tasting is priced at $10. Their menu includes various whites, reds, and fruit wines. You can pair your tasting with various small plates (cheeses, olives, etc). I sampled all the white wines available (since reds tend to give me headaches, I'm much more hesitant to try them unless there seems to be something irresistible), as well as the 'Shannon's Strawberry Dream - Strawberry Wine.' They were enjoyable enough, but nothing I was especially blown away by. If you're a white wine drinker, I'd probably recommend their dry Riesling the most (my friend and I both enjoyed it, even though we generally tend to prefer different styles of white wine). Parking is easy, since the winery is in a plaza, and the folks serving the wine tasting are helpful... perhaps a bit less attentive than I would have preferred, but certainly friendly. The two women who served our table were all stars, remembered everyone and what they were drinking and kept the good times flowing without being pushy. I had the Sangiovese and the Cabernet Sauvignon and they were good, on par with most wines in the region. The cheese and meat plates are also not to be missed! We expected overpriced - because of where this place is located - but then to experience incredibly poor service (agree with a previous reviewer's description of 'unwelcoming') on top of sub-par food - not to mention they were out of many of their offered selections, was all we needed to make sure this would be our only visit to this business. There are a several wine options on the island so other then them being centrally located on the main street, not sure what positives this place has going for them. We really enjoyed Fletcher Bay Winery! We took the ferry to Bainbridge Island (without a car) so we only visited the tasting room, but we had a great time! The wines were very good - we ended up taking home 2 bottles! But, I think what made this place stand out for us were 2 items in particular: 1) the wine tastings offer an option to 'build your own' flight and it's the same price as the others. My boyfriend knew he wanted all reds, but I wanted a little bit of everything, so it was awesome to not have to choose between red, white and rose. 2) the staff were so great! we met 2 of the staff when one of them was on her way out (literally clocking out) and she still helped us. Then, we spent a lot of time with Bambi (sp?) as we sampled different wines and berated her with all of our questions. She was knowledgeable, professional and so fun! read more

The wife and I decided to try this place today. It was not busy at all. 1) You really need to look for a sign. Trying to locate it is difficuIt. We drove around the entire complex before we found its location. 2) We both decided to try the flight of white wines. The four wines came to us with a small card telling us the name of each. There wasn't a description on any of the wines. We were left guessing. My wife did like the wine. I, however, was not a fan. 3) The server did not tell us anything about the selection, their process, the upcoming events. She did not check on us at all. I counted everybody in the establishment. There were 7 people including us. She did not ask us if we liked the wines, if we needed anything else, or if we would like to purchase anything we sampled. We left empty handed. We were trying a few of the wineries on the island on a late Sunday evening and came across this one. It was located in a shopping center and the original person who I asked about the wine I was interested in didn't have an answer to my question. She didn't know much about about wine. I ended up ordering a pinot grigio and it tasted more like a chardonnay. The glass was only $7, so not bad but not what I am used to with a pinot grigio. Had a good time here, although I'd say the cheese and meat platters were outrageously expensive considering how mediocre they were. The cheese was plain, the crackers nothing special, and the bread dried out, and it seemed like it was more for show than for eating. Some of the wines were okay, and a few were putrid. The atmosphere was lively, but extremely loud, and pure cacophony. The waitress was kind and polite, but screamed so loud into our ears we thought our brains would ooze onto our cheese plate. A local gnomish-looking drunk came by, interrupted our conversation, bragged about his 34 years on the island, sat down at our table uninvited, leaving my partner's father no place to sit, whilst he puffed out his chest and expounded on the virtues of the "captain's club" of which he was a select member. Being a member of the "captain's club" we were informed, entitles one to larger "glasses" of wine than us mere plebeians, glasses that constitute about half a bottle each given the swagger and stagger on display. After gregariously telling us not to move to the island so we don't spoil his edenic drinking and perambulatory experiences, he moved on to hold court with the higher classes when another gnomish local drunk petitioned his attention. I understand that being insulted by a privileged islander in an expansive mood who is three sheets to the wind is something of a high honor on hip spits of land in the Pungent Sound, and so I can only tip my hat and bow to the captain and his club, and pray that His Lordship will forgive any imposition we may have caused by spending almost $100 into his favorite watering hole and his local economy in one sitting. While I would generously call the stop at this port of call educational, I would not return here--at least not if I'm buying. read more

Wine club members beware. Good luck ever cancelling your membership or reaching anyone if you have concerns or questions. I have left multiple voicemails and emails for Fletcher Bay, for both the wine club and their marketing department, with no returned phone calls or emails. This is not the first time I have had all my attempts at communication ignored, but this is the most concerning. They recently sent a mass email to all members that they have "transferred to a new system" and to check your membership. When I did I noticed that my billing information is all correct, but another random wine club member's name and address is listed for shipping with no way for me to change it, no way for me to delete my card on file, and no way to cancel my account. If I cannot cancel online or edit any of these, and this business is ignoring all attempts for me to reach them, the only option I have left is to cancel my card. This is ridiculous. I have attempted to call them multiple times in the past years when we moved etc., with no response, but this is beyond bad business and completely absurd at this point. I regret ever supporting this business. read more

We brought a bunch of friends with us to this winery, not knowing what to expect. As soon as we arrived, the owners/winemaker greeted us and were super welcoming and friendly. It is $10 for 5 tastings which is more expensive than Rolling Bay and Bainbridge Vineyards ($5) but if you buy a bottle here, the $10 tasting fee is waived. We ended up LOVING their Cab Sav (it's really good) and bought a couple of their whites (because Summer). The wine club at Fletcher Bay sounds like a great deal if you live on the island! Side note: If you have a beer drinker in your group, make sure he/she doesn't even THINK about going to the brewery next door (see separate review) or you'll get a "talking to" by the brewery staff. eek! read more

This was my last stop on my wine tour of Bainbridge Island this holiday weekend and the overall experience was mediocre. The venue looks more like a traditional bar rather than a winery or tasting room. The wine itself was decent (nothing that screamed WOW, but nothing bad either). The staff was pleasant but didn't take the time to talk with us about their selection or winery. It seems like a decent place to go with a few friends for a drink or two, but not the venue is not up to the same standards as the traditional wine tasting rooms. read more

Fletcher Bay Winery is a small boutique winery owned by Jim Wilford. The winery sources it's grapes from Eastern, WA. You can taste their wine at their winery, or at the Island Vinters Wine Bar in downtown Winslow. It is cheaper if you go to the winery itself. The tasting room is quaint and cozy and located were all the wine making action takes place. You get to sit amongst the barrels of maturing wine. The cheese plate here is incredible! Do not pass up on getting some of the food. They even have rice crackers for those who are wheat sensitive. Shannon/Sharon was an amazing knowledgeable host as she took us through the tasting. I believe it was about $5 for a tasting of about 6 glasses of your choice from the tasting menu. Between my friend and I we tasted the entire menu. There wasn't anything we didn't like, everything was OK. The standouts for me were Barking Dog Red, Tara Rouge, and 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (still young, well rounded, balanced, drinkable now, but you could taste the future possibilities). read more
