Open at 5am (!) to 3pm. My favorite go-to is "The Traditional", $17.50 with your choice of bagel, and then they'll build it with: cream cheese, lox, red onion, capers, tomato & lettuce. Went into this Western Bagel for the first time because I needed to be in the area, and found it to be an exact replica of all their locations, but for being a tad smaller than usual. Not a problem, they had everything available, including their full selection of bagels and pastries (though no fountain drinks, unless the machine was hiding somewhere I didn't see). Also, like many of the other locations, they employ a staff of people who are both uniformly friendly, and also uniformly confused. Let me explain. As I have experienced many times before at a number of their locations, staff members appear to listen quite intently to your order and then promptly get it wrong. The shop in Studio City is the only one I've been to where they have order pads and write down what you want. As for the rest of the locations (especially in Woodland Hills), I can't tell you the amount of food I have seen brought back and thrown out to be remade over the years. The same happened today with my very simple order: Egg A La Bagel. I asked for it to be made with Ham and American Cheese, and for them to put a little butter on the toasted Everything Bagel (otherwise it can be too dry). The server acknowledged my order, then made me a sandwich with cheddar cheese and no butter. He was apologetic, threw out the sandwich and made me another, this time getting the cheese correct, but still not adding any butter, rendering the sandwich, indeed, dry as a bone (because the eggs and ham are microwaved, and no fat is used in the cooking). I didn't want to bother him again, so I ate the sandwich as it was, and it was disappointing... the dry bagel was also a bit bland, with the texture being a bit gluey, which isn't usual for WB, but that's how it was today. To be fair, and to be real, this is just a bagel sandwich, not the end of the world -- but having grown up in a retail family, it has always irked me that the owners of Western Bagel are losing money because so much food is thrown away, and losing customers because they get frustrated. On the other hand, to an extent it's also on the owners themselves for not providing better training and oversight. I actually sent a comment to their website once about the same thing, but never received a reply. Western Bagel was the only game in town for so long that I think they assume they'll go on no matter what. But with some really good bagel makers now setting up shop across the region, they do need to up their game in terms of product and service if they're not going to fade out of the retail store business. To be honest, with so many other options now available, I rarely go into a Western Bagel shop anymore, and this is the perfect example of why my loyalty has waned over the years. Like I said: not the end of the world, there are many bigger problems we all face... but I would like to see a bit of a Western revival for old times sake. read more

Tried for the first time, and I would say the food was very good. The taste of the NY pastrami was very delicious and I absolutely enjoyed every single bite. The ambiance is ok... but the service is definitely must work on. Some of the workers had kind of attitude which made us uncomfortable. The preparation time is quick. Stopped by Western Bagel for the first time a few weeks ago in the morning and had an overall positive experience. They had a pretty good selection of different bagels to choose from and several ways to have it prepared in terms of sandwiches and spreads. The bagels were fresh and a good texture. Staff were efficient, especially with the morning rush and patient with our questions. The only small concern we had was that the bagels were a little small, especially for the price point. Everything else was fine. Western Bagel has a free parking lot for customers. Their shop has a few tables inside for patrons to dine in if they would like, although it seemed that most people took their food to go. Our order consisted of three bagels that were consumed on site and a half dozen with cream cheese that we took to-go for a friend. The ones we tried on site included: - garlic bagel with egg and bacon - egg bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese - cinnamon raisin bagel (toasted) Our sandwiches were prepared fresh and were warm upon receiving them. As noted above, they were tasty and the bagels had a solid texture that we typically love from quality bagels. I stopped by this Western Bagel this morning to get a bagel. I was going to be in the area to pickup my online order at a store so I stopped by here first. I came in the early morning so they were not busy at all. I was able to get a parking spot right in front of this store and walk inside. I got a blueberry bagel, toasted and asked for creme cheese on the side because they tend to put a lot on the bagel. I got my wife her jalapenos cheese bagel. It didn't take them long to toast my bagel and I took it home to eat. I thought my blueberry bagel was too toasted but I still finished it. Moved here from the San Gabriel Valley over 7 years ago and we do NOT have bagels like this. Chewy, fresh, and amazing. I had only had a grocery store bagel before and this is a totally different experience. My wife loves the hazelnut coffee and a bagel and cream cheese is a decent price even though it's gotten more expensive lately. It's a splurge now instead of a regular thing for us. She introduced me to bagel and salmon lox which I call bagel sushi, it blew my mind the first time I had it. However, my wife recently wanted a lox bagel sandwich for her birthday and it was $16.50 before tax? Even in these new nightmare price days that's too much for what we got. The bagels here are your standard bagels. They do seen a bit smaller though than some other shops. I love the variety they have here though, especially the rye bagel. So first off first takeout, on the cold coffee they place a sticker over the straw opening and it's hard to peel away and make an opening for your straw. It says peel but it kind of just fell apart when I tried to take it off (see picture attached.) The coffee itself was good though once I finally got the straw in. We ordered hashbrowns and bagel sandwiches. 100 percent skip the hashbrowns. Online it looks like it's a McDonald's hash brown but when you get it, it's a cold dry undercooked potato patty and it's not that great. I changed up what I normally get which is just a bagel and cream cheese and tried the bagel breakfast sandwich but will be going back to just a bagel and cream cheese. The bacon on the sandwich was very thin and translucent and had no flavor other than the rye bagel I had them use to make it, the sandwich was underwhelming. This location kind of sucks. The older woman, short, blondish brownish hair, has a bad attitude & works very slow. I ordered early and got there to an empty store & my order wasn't ready yet. They had no hot or cold turkey in the morning and when I asked for my order, she just said "we are out." I asked what else they had and she said just salad??????? What????? After prying it out of her, I was finally able to get the chicken sandwich & it was god awful. On top of that she took 10 years to make my order & USED THE WRONG BAGEL????? My son was looking forward to trying this spot because his favorite bagel spot is in LA (Bagel Broker) and they under delivered, he wasn't satisfied, said the egg was overcooked, lacked cream cheese and the sausage was cold. I wanted to try the pizza bagel since it was delicious the first time but the staff member working picked it up with her ungloved hands and had the biggest attitude when I decided to not get it. Western Bagel is what it is. A bagel place. Nothing special. Just smaller than average bagels. Service wasn't great but not bad. The cookies I bought in a plastic container weren't the best. Very, very dry rugula. The bagels were good and there was enough onion on my bagel with lox to last me a lifetime! Ha! Decent amount of salmon. I was able to taste it in every bite. Great amount of veg though! 3 stars for nothing spectacular about the place, not super fancy or updated, and smaller bagels with pretty big prices. I opened my bagel and it only has cream cheese in one side and barely any at that. Great place for breakfast and lunch. Their bagels are pretty good. Always fresh and ready to go. Love the mix sandwich on sesame bagel. So delicious. I always get a dozen and freeze it for my kids to enjoy the whole week. This location is very busy specially in the mornings. Service is good and fast. Not thrilled with this location. I came in last week, I work down the street and wanted to grab something before work. The line was a mess. There's no clear posted signs as to where it starts, where to order, or pay. I stood there waiting for someone to take my order and finally had to ask what was going on. There were several employees who had no customers but still didn't take any orders which was incredibly frustrating. After I placed my order it took another 10 min to get my egg a la bagel and I got a coffee and they didn't secure the lid so as soon as I got it in my car it spilled all over my seat.
