So we asked to get a shower done with glass doors. I figured if I'm gonna have a beautiful shower, I would like to have glass doors and showcase their work. So they come in to work, and as expected, they ran into an issue. There was a pipe there so they gave us options. To raise it An additional 6 inches or keep it where it is and shorten the shower and add in built in shelf. Because this is for my grandfather in law, who already has a hard time moving around, we asked to keep it where it was, So it's easier for him to get in and out. When he just began explaining to my grandfather in law, I had came over And told him I should've been here and can he re-explain all the options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not one time did he tell me (The homeowner) That the doors will not be added if we went with the option to keep it where it is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When it was finished, the guy told me if we wanted glass doors we will need to hire someone else. They ended up leaving two of the glass doors and leaving a box of the shelves In my home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called to see what can be done and to notify them And come to find out they don't even have the correct last name. Back in March, one of west shore homes drivers pulled out in front of me and my 3 children on the Interstate. Their driver never came to check on us, nor would he even speak to us, he would only talk to the cops on the scene. I paid $14,000 for a shower install. they installed this horrendous looking L-shaped rod with a brace extended to the ceiling and I hate it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I let them know the next day that I hated it. They requested pictures I sent pictures. They called me to tell me there was nothing they could do and to brush me off, suggested I install a shower door.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was advised by the rod installer that I would not be able to install a shower door. they were also supposed to install a gasket across the bottom of the shower, and I was assured that even without it water would not escape onto the floor . WRONG I ended up with a rug soaked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When they called me to install the gasket, I told them I was not letting them back in my house. The plumber said this is very common in Cobb County due to the high mineral content in the water system, and recommended a whole house re-piping job. The young sales person showed up and went deep into his sales pitch, even when I made him aware of my new plumbing situation. When he finally presented the quote, which seemed like 2 hours later, I was shell shocked at the price. Now all of a sudden he offers a list of available discounts, almost $5000 worth, and several financing options, but, they were only available right then and there. If he walked out the door without an agreement, the discounts disappear for good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I let him walk, and now I am being bombarded with sales calls, 2 on Mother's Day, text messages and emails about new incentives. Wish I could leave 0 stars. I purchased 2 sets of double doors. One for my basement and one for the back door. Besides the fact that it took 4 months to get them installed, which I was told it would only take a couple of weeks by the salesman. I was also told that I would get 12 months no interest if I paid the balance off with in that time period. This was a BIG LIE. I have a great credit score so I believed him. Today I received my 2nd statement and guess what, I had a finance charge on it! When I called the bank they said West Shore requested I get the 6.5 percent rate. I don't believe I was told the truth about anything. So I paid the doors off and cancelled the account. Never again will I waste my time with this company. And I need windows! We were looking to replace our shower. We signed the contract and made a substantial down payment. We were given 3 days to cancel without losing our down payment. I know now that 3 days is useless when the installation is 6 weeks later. On the day of installation, they showed up with a completely different product than what we had ordered. We did not cancel our contract. But because we refused to allow them to install a DIFFERENT product than what we were shown, that is the wording they have used in order to keep our down payment. The salesman intentionally misled us. I can say with 100% certainty that it was intentional because he specifically said that we would have one solid sheet of acrylic on each wall. He explained that obviously there would be a seam in the corners where the walls meet, but it would not be noticeable. This part of the conversation is important because it allowed for the WORDS (no details or description, just a vague mention) "seam trim" to be in the contract without raising any red flags to us. This wasn't a rushed conversation; he was in our home for 3 hours. We were very thorough and very clear in what we wanted and what he was selling us. We left no room for misunderstanding on our part or his. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stressed to him multiple times how important that specific detail of the wall being seamless was. Every time we mentioned it and the importance of it to us, he reassured us that a seamless shower wall is exactly what we were getting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were shown several pictures of what the finished product would look like. Not one of those pictures showed a very large seam covering in the MIDDLE of the shower wall. It was never mentioned that may even be a possibility. We were told about the seam and shown a picture of it on the day of installation. It looked like one of those strips on the inside walls of mobile homes, except wider, more protruding and changed the entire look of the shower. It looked absolutely nothing like the pictures we were shown when we signed the contract and made the down payment. Over the next couple of days, West Shore Home let us know in no uncertain terms that the only way to keep from losing our down payment (of over $5,000.00) would be to allow them to proceed with the install. But we were informed by more than one representative of the company that the product we were sold does not exist and can not be created. If your shower wall measures more than a certain width, they will ONLY be able to join two sheets together in lieu of one seamless wall. By the way, our shower measurements were taken by the salesman and included in the contract/work order; there was no reason for us not to have been told about it up front. So again, they were pushing us to allow installation of a product we did not want and did not order. I told the installer, "Thank you so much for letting us know about this before you started tearing our old shower out." His response was, "I've learned to do that. We run into this all the time. People get very upset with me if I'm halfway through an install and they see it and it's not what they wanted." This leads me to assume that there have been others who were bullied/financially threatened into keeping showers that were not what they expected. Please be very, very careful when dealing with this company. They have good reviews, so I do not believe this was an intentional bait and switch but not being honest up front about exactly what we were getting has definitely made it feel that way on our end. We had our tub replaced with a step in shower, it's awful. When you're in the shower, the floor creaks and groans, it's not as easy to clean as they said it would be, the grab bars are rusting...and it gets worse. There is a crack in the flooe pan about 8 inches long, they sent a man out to patch it. After seeing it, he told me the whole thing had to be replaced. With the lifetime warranty, I thought no problem, well they want almost $900.00 service fee. What the heck is the service fee for? Deceptive Practices: Commercial shows Shower replacements with doors. My old shower came with a shower door. Sales Agent advised me they do not install shower doors. I was told I must hire another contractor to install the shower door if I wanted one. He stated normally the shower door is install the next day. The additional cost for the door is bad enough, but the contractor advised it will take approximately 3 weeks for the shower door to be installed. Would NOT recommend. Overpriced substandard materials. I had the shower installed maybe 3 years ago or so and have noticed what appears to be black mold spots in the caulk they used. Salesman kept saying lifetime warranty on anything with the shower when he sold me... they said it's not under warranty and would be a $125 service fee to put in a high quality sealant. Overpriced, very pre-packaged and looks cheap. They are not a custom job provider. My project was a tub/shower combo, flooring and toilet in a condo. I didn't have to have a bathroom refit, but the original was 20 years old and fiberglass. I spent this money so I would not have to do any DIY (I am a senior now and don't want to work that hard anymore) and newer should look nicer, right? I was an easy customer, I didn't ask for much or dicker on price (which is pointless, they don't itemize costs for you) - and I am still disappointed in what I got. I requested a chair-height toilet specific for disability use, they said they had that. They don't. They installed the same toilet everyone gets. I have nice maple cabinets in my bathroom, and yet they installed the very fat, white shoe molding in front of it, after they ripped the original maple-colored molding out (without telling me). Who does that? It looks awful. But that's what everyone gets. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It took two weeks after install to get compensation ($500) and now I have to replace the molding myself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Exactly what I did not want to have to do. The fat, thick molding looks cheap, like the kind used by someone who does not know how to install flooring properly. It doesn't match the molding thickness I have in the rest of the house. The flooring itself is *exactly* like the flooring in the bathroom at my doctor's office. Who wants that in their home? They don't have any attractive residential choices, it's all bulk-purchased commercial grade. The acrylic bathtub bottom is so slippery I'm afraid to use the soaking tub. You can't get out of it safely from a sitting position. When I asked for a 3rd safety bar installed lower to the tub, they said it would cost $400 extra. So now I have an unsafe tub I will never use. I had to spend $35 on a tub mat just so someone can use the shower without killing themselves. And all this "upgrading" cost me over $15,000. I went with the lowest priced, most vanilla options they had. They said the deal that week was "free installation" (if I signed immediately). I'm thinking, who gets paid $1,000 an hour for this type work? Nothing but regret here. I don't like the look or how it performs. I could have had a newer used car and kept my old fiberglass unit and linoleum floor, which didn't look bad or cheap. Every time I walk into that bathroom now, it's like an office bathroom. We had our bathroom replaced shower with Westshore. It was done as directed in one day. The next day we had put downstairs flooding down from the upstairs shower that was just installed. They forgot to connect the pVC pipe back. When I ask if they were plumbers. I was told they are not plumbers. The whole one day was rushed with inexperienced workers. They also took two days to contact me back after Rotto Rooters was on site helping me. There office was so hard to get anyone to communicate with. Also no one from Westshore came back to our home for inspection. We had just finished our home being remodeled and this mistake took 7 months for them to fix the problem. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The sales pitch and the sales men was pretty convincing but it's all a front and it cost us more. They were not able to accommodate my needs after the flooding caused by them and worst they were not available to talk to anyone. No customer service after and no communication. I saw their commercial on tv. Gave them a call to set up a quote. The company sent out one of their staff to offer a quote. She reviewed our shower space and said they could do the job. We agreed. She took pictures of the space as well. When it was time for the work to be done, the customer service guy told us that the glass would need to be custom made. They cannot do custom made glass doors. I told them if I knew they could not do the complete job, I would have definitely went with another company that could. They had no other opinions and was of no further help. Poor customer service. My experience with West Shore was largely positive until the job was done. In the initial sales pitch, I was told the walls would be one continuous piece formed to fit the shower stall. That turned out not to be the case. In fact, it is three pieces connected with silicone caulk. I'm okay with that, but wish the salesman had been upfront and honest. The scheduling department delayed the installation. When I asked for a weekend install, rather than saying that would be very hard to do, they just stopped the process. I had to call the salesman, who promised to fix it the problem and call me back with a day. Instead, the scheduling department called back. I had to push very hard to get her to set a date. The installation crew did a great job of building and installing the shower. They did fall down on cleanup. My wife and I were cleaning up glue, silicone and dirt from a hook behind the door and all the horizontal surfaces. The crew could have gotten this done very easily and made a better impression. I called the salesman after the installation and made a small request that would have cost him a couple of dollars in postage, but that was too hard for him to do. The company had been paid, and he was on to the next sale. They are better than 2.26 but not much. read more
