Overall, I have very mixed feelings about Mr. Handyman. I have used them in the past before for…read moresheetrock repair and it went without a hitch and I was very satisfied. This year, I had a growing list of things I wanted done around the house and decided to hire them again. It was admittedly a very long list, including replacing a shower knob with new hardware, replacing a video doorbell camera that had stopped working with a new model by the same manufacturer, and installing house numbers above the garage door, among several other things. The handyman that came was here literally the entire day and was clearly working very hard to get everything done and I was very grateful. The only thing he wasn't able to get done was replace the shower knob because the Moen brand I bought did not fit the existing fixture and he said if I bought a Delta one he could install it at a later date. I paid but when he left I realized a couple things were not done correctly. First, the house numbers installed above the garage were not straight or evenly spaced (picture attached). Most notably the 6 is noticeably much lower than the other numbers. I do not know how he could look at those numbers and decide it was job a well done and acceptable. Second, while the video doorbell was successfully recording video, the chime was not working, as in when you ring the doorbell, the mechanical doorbell chime does not ring inside the house like my old video doorbell did, and so I had no idea when someone was at the door ringing the doorbell. I contacted them noting these issues, so they set up a new appointment to fix them and also install the new shower knob (I bought a Delta one this time). The same handyman came back and said I would only be charged for installing the shower knob, which was new work, and not for fixing the issues from the last appointment, which is true and I was not charged for the redo. The house numbers were adjusted and they are now straight and even, though to be honest I'm still a little unsatisfied because the area above the garage where they were installed had been newly painted and though you cannot see it from far away, up close you can clearly see the holes that were left when he had to unscrew and rescrew the numbers into their new positions and caulked over, so the paint is not smooth anymore, which would not be a problem if the numbers had been installed correctly in the first place. He also successfully installed the new shower knob, though for some reason he first installed it on the soaking tub (the tub and shower are separate in my bathroom) and I had to tell him I wanted the knob installed in the shower, not the tub, which I had done both verbally before he started and it was also written down so I don't know what the confusion was. Finally, however, he worked on the video doorbell for hours and could not get the chime to work. I could tell he was very frustrated by this, and he even called a coworker to come to my house to look at it, who couldn't figure it out either. I admittedly do not know how it works--that's why I hired a handyman in the first place--but my previous video doorbell which was by the same manufacturer had the doorbell chime working. He kept incorrectly referring to it as a Ring doorbell, which is a different brand than the one I was installing, so I am not convinced he was looking at the right directions. After several hours, he said he had to do some research on it and would come back the next day to finally get the doorbell chime working. He did not come the next day. Did he call to say he wasn't coming? No. Was I waiting the entire day for him to come and changed my plans for the day because I was waiting for him? Yes. Sometime during the next week, I finally got a call from the owner that the handyman thinks he knows how to install the doorbell, so I set up a third appointment. He comes in the morning and fiddles with the doorbell again with no results. He kind of just shrugs saying maybe it'll work in a few days. Yeah, right. Three appointments and my video doorbell chime still does not work to this day. Today I decided to take a look at it myself and looked up a video tutorial to install this exact model, but the power adapter that came with the video doorbell is missing, so I do not have any hope of ever installing this video doorbell correctly because there's a missing part. I know this part was included in the original box and saw it several times when he was attempting to fix it, but now it is nowhere to be found. Also the wall around the mechanical doorbell transformer is very scratched up (picture attached; the wall was fine before this whole thing). I'm mad and super frustrated. Overall I'm really happy with everything else that was done around the house, but the numbers and the video doorbell really soured me on the whole thing. I don't want to name the handyman, but I'm really disappointed.

This is hands down the most unprofessional, incompetent group we've ever dealt with. We paid for a…read moreswingset and "professional installation" -- what we got was chaos. The installer showed up completely clueless, dumped hundreds of parts all over our yard, and cobbled it together in a way that was flat-out unsafe. No cleanup, trash everywhere, and despite coming back six different times it's still not right. They've managed to scratch multiple pieces, which are now rusting, and the mess of boxes they promised to haul away are still sitting there. To top it off, someone showed up at my daughter's house today, where the swingset is, and started yelling at her -- unbelievably unprofessional behavior. Avoid these people at all costs. They don't know what they're doing, they don't stand by their word, and they treat customers with zero respect.

Horrible experience--stay away from this company…read more I provided all the specifications for a large job, including: * 12 rods * 1 large mirror * 1 TV mounting I even included the weight details to ensure they sent someone qualified. The first person they sent was an older gentleman who was unprofessional and unable to handle the job. The second time, they sent a man and his niece, who took three days to complete the work and caused significant property damage. The niece, who was not qualified, struggled to hold the mirror and almost dropped it on my husband while he and my mom stepped in to help. Instead of assisting, she just stood there watching. They worked sloppily, dropped tools on my engineered wood floors, and generally lacked the skill to do the job properly. When I disputed the charge with Fixttman, they threatened to come after me for the money, even though I needed to hire drywallers and painters to repair the damage they caused. One subcontractor even threatened to enter my home with three men, forcing me to call the police. On top of that, a Fixttman agent also threatened me. This company operates fraudulently, hires unprofessional workers, and offshores their customer service calls to agents who falsely represent the company as legitimate. In reality, it's just someone in Texas hiring unqualified workers and overcharging customers. They also tack on hidden fees, despite their workers being unprofessional and unskilled. Avoid this company at all costs, especially Justin from Nix Constructions. -responding to the owner who also threatened me, -the crew smelled strongly of marujana. -the had changes, because the put the rod in the second room without asking which height, just assumed it was the first room height. -secondly had no level so their work was never was straight (admittedly, some ceiling was not leveled) but if he's an expert he would know how to adjust accordingly. every time I would come into the room the brackets are not straight. they still are not! -the drywall patch they used gun caulk, which I provided for them, and did not sand or paint before leaving, even though he said he would. This company is a joke. Fair warning: this company is a fraud do not use them Even the police, when they came to see the work, when I called them after the threats I received from both Justin and the company, said that the work was pretty bad. -I paid Justin full price for the artwork, I asked him to hang it via Zelle. no one is running away from payment, but you do not under any circumstances pay for bad work. -if this company was legit, they would acknowledge the bad work, instead of asking for payment -The technician spent 3 days because he had an untrained niece with him. How is a young girl supposed to be able to hang a 100+ lbs mirror. -Justin, the subcontractor started threatening me calling me "interior designer my a$$" even though that is my profession and the home is for clients arriving Friday into their home. -the agent who called me claimed he was a lawyer and also threatened me. -these people are trying to make it about me not wanting to pay, but please see their work. this is only half of the photos. -this will be a civil matter taken to dispute these people are not anyone you should ever work with. - and these people are not to be trusted
