When we were searching for free weights, a helpful staff member guided us to the right section. Another young man proactively offered his assistance, going above and beyond to find the perfect weights and even a weight stand. This store's commitment to outstanding customer service and friendliness is truly inspiring. Kudos to the best customer service down to the cashier that rang us up! The tents hold up in wind, but you will hear the wind whistle through the seams if the storm is strong enough, because Mother Nature will never bow to man's interventions. You pay a price for that. The press sings songs about REI like it's the holy land for outdoor men and women, and maybe that's true in parts. But you don't go there for ceremony, you go for the tools. They make good tools. You don't want to trust your life to something flimsy when you are out there, far from the roads and the towns, when your survival depends on gear. REI has it, in its clean rows, with its well-meaning salespeople, and its prices that sting a little but still make sense. It is the day-to-day, too. The jacket for the morning walk. The pack for the hike with your daughter. The water bottle that won't quit, no matter how many miles you pour through it. It holds up for the small things and the big. It holds up for life. It isn't perfect, but neither are you. Still, you trust it.

Considering that I hadn't had the bike serviced in 12 years, and MANY dried up parts had to be replaced, the service wasn't terribly expensive, as REI gave me discounts. I paid $500 for that bike in 1995, which amounts to about $1,100 today, and the service cost about a third of that $1,100, reasonably low-ish also because I'm a member. Now I'll transport that bike on our new Kuat Sherpa 2.0 bike carrier, also purchased earlier at this store. I'm a happy camper.

Maybe it's because I've worked in retail/mall locations and understand the immense amount of work it takes to keep a store like that together, but at the same token, it doesn't take much more as a decent human being to understand these employees have a lot on their plate. The Aerie individual that assisted me with my bra search was super friendly and acted as if we'd been friends forever. Which honestly, makes that (possibly) awkward experience much easier. She was super helpful and made me feel at ease. Not to mention the overwhelming amount of body positivity that this store oozes. It's seriously just phenomenal. On the American Eagle side, our checkout experience was flawless. We had an online exchange to process, and the sales associate was so friendly and personable. He admitted he was newer to the AE fold and apologized for it not being as streamlined as he hoped. Honestly, it didn't really take any longer than I'd expect a normal transaction. It's honestly just going that extra mile to make the connection with a customer that makes it for me. His fellow associate/manager(?) assisted him with the transaction and everything continued to flow smoothly. Oh yeah, and did I mention the quality and current sales? Even though I hadn't ever walked into their shop, they didn't even know who I was, and I had not bought anything from them at that time... they still treated me with the utmost respect. Because of this awesome interaction, I've been saving up to pick up my dream pistol, and I WILL be ordering through Private Sector Arms. Not just because of their respectful, and knowledgeable service reps... but the fact that they are an authorized dealer for many manufacturers including Magnum Research, and Kimber (if memory serves me right). If they place the order, you can save on an FFL transfer fee as you would occur if you purchase a gun off gunbroker...etc. Also, their added integrity, knowing that they inspect each and every firearm thoroughly when a shipment arrives... rest assured your firearm will come out looking fresh. Not only did he figure out the problem but also fixed the problem, Kenny didn't change a penny for fixing my firearm so I walked out a very happy and satisfied customer. The owner cannot be reached by phone, his business hours are an illusion. I have asked Sound Auction for a refund of my over 4K dollars in merchandise. If it was possible to give this FFL ZERO stars I would. No way to run a business, absolute disgrace.
