Best place to get an eye exam. I have problems with my eyes they do an extensive check up for myself and my son.

This is what customer service should look like. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and they are open on Saturdays. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

She also found out about my eyes that I didn't know that my previous optometrist never told me. Dr. Chen wanted me to come back in a week to dilate my eyes; however I wasn't able to come in the days that she worked due to my work schedule. I appreciate that Dr. Chen was able to fit me in on a weekend despite being fully booked so I could get my prescription I needed for my contacts. I highly recommend coming here to get your eyes checked and Dr. Chen is an amazing optometrist. Downfall of this place is that there is NO reception so don't expect to be able to browse the internet while you wait for your appointment.

If you try to make an appointment online by clicking their emails that remind you to, they say they'll call you and they never do. The only way to do it is to call them. It's weird that they give you the option to get a call back but never do. The front desk doesn't really make eye contact when you go, and are a bit cold. I guess that's fine, but it is a stark contrast to the friendliness of the doctors and such. Overall, I would recommend.

So last weekend I came by to check out the possibilities of getting a new optometrist. So this review focuses on my appointment for today in which I met the wonderful and kind Dr. Jane Liao. I liked her very much. She's a Taiwanese lady that grew up in Brazil and somehow graduated from U.C. Berkeley's school of optometry. Dr. Jane strikes me as a very brilliant woman and also very cool. I needed to update my contact lenses and also update my optometrist since I now own a home in Albany next to the Pacific East Mall where Dr. Jane can be found at least once per week, generally on Saturdays. I have a follow up appointment for next Saturday. She gave me the latest technology in contacts, the Acuvue Oasis style. So my one paid appointment gets me a free set of contacts with a free follow up appointment next Saturday. I gave her $96 for the entire work up with two prescriptions: one for glasses and one for contacts. Upon careful examination, Dr. Jane determined that I have normal pressure in both eyes with some slight clouding of the left lens. Not too bad for a mid-60s client. My brother by this time had cataracts in both eyes. I apparently have worn sunglasses much more often and have a perfectly clear right lens, and a left lens that can still be resolved to 20/30. My brother was so happy with his cataract surgery, but I'll not be following that pathway for a little while yet. Dr. Jane is the mom of two small children and lives near San Jose. Once they are both in school, I'll likely have more appointment options as she'll visit this office more than once per week. For the time being, I'm very happy to have her within walking distance of my Albany Hill home on Saturdays. Thank goodness she's practicing so very close to me. For people who want to do things in Pacific East Mall on a Saturday afternoon, you must have patience in order to park in the lot. I recommend parking on the street just south of the Mall. Also don't go to Central Avenue to get back on the route 80/580 freeway, or you will be in a line of 30 or 40 cars having to wait through many green light cycles. Instead drive south on Pierce Street to Buchanan. Take a right at the light and enter the route 80/580 freeway with no hassles. As a resident of this street right next to the Mall, I always come home by exiting on Central Avenue and turning right on Central, then right again on Pierce Street. I leave home to get on the freeway by going down Pierce to Buchanan and then right to the freeway entrance. Very smooth if you go in this clockwise manner. The counterclockwise pattern causes slow frustration. Word to the wise.

I came here because my husband had an appointment and it went OK. I've been here a lot as of late,…read morea total of five visits to the ER between my husband and myself for random things that have happened. The last three pics show what the new Kaiser building looks like and it's nice. But Kaiser still kind of basic and is what it is. When I'm interacted with the doctors, they do seem caring. I have to be honest. And I like coming here instead of having to go to Oakland for some of my care so that's also good. The girl was bad and I have to say that I've been fine and made it. But I can't forget how they neglected my mother's house until she was on her death door and then one of us to let her go. I just hope that when it's my time I'm not here at Richmond Kaiser, where they kind of care about you until you clear that you're really sick. That comes from personal experience, by the way. That being said, it's close to my husband's job and he gets very good care there..

PSA: Richmond Kaiser Security is Ghetto…read more I want to start by saying that the doctors, MAs, and physical therapists at the Richmond Kaiser ER provided amazing care for my mom. They were attentive, compassionate, and truly did everything possible to help her during a critical situation. I'm very grateful for the medical team and the care they provided. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the security staff. I had been with my mom since 9 AM and at no point was I ever given a visitor badge or informed that I needed one. For a brief moment, I switched places with my dad, which was communicated to the MA helping my mother. When I came back, security suddenly acted as if they had no idea who I was and questioned why I entered without "permission," making me feel as though I was being accused of trespassing. Richmond Kaiser ER seriously needs to reevaluate the people they have working security. Some of the most ignorant and disrespectful people I dealt with the entire day were the security guards. They act like they hold the highest position in the hospital, talking to families with attitude and zero compassion during emergencies. It's crazy how the least respected and probably lowest paid position wants to act the most authoritative. The way they spoke to me, you would've thought they were nurses or actual medical staff, when in reality they're security guards whose job is to observe, report, and communicate professionally. Instead, they escalated an already stressful situation and lacked basic human respect and manners. Their people skills seriously need improvement.

She is simply superb. The other people there are equally superb. Shane checked me in and did preparatory testing; he was so very kind and helpful! What a friendly, warm-hearted, efficient and excellent optometrist's office - I'm so glad I found them!
