The optometrist I see there is very helpful, but my rating is 1 for the phone service. I have been trying to call for 2 days now and cannot get through. Phone or visit is the only way you can contact them. (parking is impossible so you never know when to just drop in) It is like back in the 80's. I'm looking for another provider that sells the glasses I like. Why don't they add email contact? read more

I feel I have to warn other parents about our experience at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry's pediatric clinic. We were referred there after our two‑year‑old had an abnormal result during a routine eye screening. At first, things seemed caring -- the staff was polite -- but we had problems almost immediately. The first optometrist told us she was in the "normal range," but mentioned someone else would need to check her results. A second doctor reviewed the tests, said the same thing (normal), and again insisted another review was necessary. (The first two doctors were in residency) Then a third doctor entered and delivered a completely different diagnosis: claiming our daughter was "extremely" far‑sighted, that one eye was much weaker than the other, and recommended she be given glasses immediately and wear them all day, every day. We followed that advice, bought two pairs of glasses the next day, and endured a painful adjustment process--tears, frustration, confusion. Within one week, her left eye began dramatically turning inward (crossing) while she was wearing the glasses, a change that reversed when they were removed. This was clearly alarming, especially because this had not been a problem before the glasses. I called the clinic to alert them to the problem. Every time, I was told I couldn't speak directly to the doctor -- only through office staff, who would pass messages along. The response relayed to me was that we should continue using the glasses despite the obvious adverse effect. I insisted on alternatives or reassessment, but instead was told the earliest available appointment was months away and that the glasses must stay on. Only after much pressure did the doctor agree to see our daughter in a few weeks, but I couldn't wait that long and demanded that she give me a call. Despite describing the situation and our concern, the doctor stood by her original prescription and told us to keep the glasses on even if it was causing a crossed eye. I told her I wouldn't do that and would seek another opinion. I was forced to trust my instincts and seek a second opinion from a pediatric ophthalmologist. That doctor determined our daughter's vision was well within normal range for her age, and that she did not need glasses. Worse, she confirmed the glasses were causing the eye‑turn. She was astonished the UC Berkeley clinic would allow us to continue the glasses in the face of visible harm. To be on the safe side she scheduled a follow up appointment in six months to ensure our daughter's eyes were not worsening. At a follow‑up, the ophthalmologist declared that our daughter's vision is now better than average, her eye alignment is perfect, and she won't even need to be seen again for three years! Meanwhile, we spent hundreds of dollars, endured relentless stress, and had our child's eye health put at risk by a clinic that persisted with a potentially harmful treatment when there was clear evidence it was making things worse. I strongly advise parents to steer clear of the pediatric optometry department at UC Berkeley, especially for infants and toddlers. If your child's eyes are in doubt, find a qualified pediatric ophthalmologist instead -- someone who will listen to you, follow the evidence, and prioritize your child's safety. read more

I came here based on recommendations, and it's really convenient to where I live. Everyone from the reception staff, to the exam team, and the optical center, were extremely polite and courteous. John was great at getting me rescheduled over the phone after I was unable to make my first appointment due to an emergency. The resident optometrist, Dr. Bianconi, has great communication skills, explaining potential issues long-term, and I felt safe with her checking everything. The student trainees, Idris and Abigail, were super cheerful; I have often said that a positive attitude from healthcare providers goes a long way, and they couldn't have been nicer. I didn't get the names of anyone at the optical center, but the two students who helped me get fitted were very helpful, and guided me to the right choice. I was a patient of Dr Pia Hoenig and had wonderful care. She retired. Her replacement, Dr Debra Lee Chen and her students misdiagnosed my prescription twice. She finally said, after I purchased two pairs of glasses that I could not see out of, that she needed to send me to a specialist at UCSF. After that specialist. Dr Marc Levin gave me a new correct prescription, I had to pay $801 over and above the hundreds of dollars I spent on the first two pairs. I tried to recoup that loss and they refused. Do you love the DMV experience and wish it was available in more aspects of your life? Are you tired of your healthcare providers having experience and degrees? Well, look no further. Here, everything is a new experience for everyone. The optometrist is still learning how to use everything. The administration cannot make appointments or give you information about your account. The frame shop is only for VIP guests. A few years ago, at the end of an appointment, the optometrist said I had something very wrong with my eyes and they needed to follow up within the next few months, and to schedule an appointment on my way out. On my way out, the desk clerk said they are not taking appointments, but they would contact me when they had something available. I asked them to confirm the phone number or email address they would use to contact me, and they said they cannot give out that information. I waited four months, then tried to schedule an appointment. They told me it was first come, first serve, and they've already maxed out their appointment window, but they'd contact me when something was available. This went on for a year. I eventually was able to schedule an appointment one year and 10 months later. The optometrist had changed and so they just gave me a standard checkup. I never did find out what the serious problem was. Today, I called to confirm my most recent appointment, and they told me it was cancelled, but I just had a check-up last November. I told them I didn't, so they confirmed my identity a few times to make sure I was who I said I was. Eventually, they realized that I had a check-up two Novembers ago. They never really told me why my appointment was cancelled. They said it was the app. I don't even know what app they were referring to. I told them that I'd find a new optometrist, and they were happy to have me leave. read more

5 stars for the actual eye exam I received; student doctor was extremely nice and thorough. 1 star for the business practices. They told me they will charge another $165 for me to come back to try a different brand of contacts because I didn't like the ones they wrote me a prescription for. What??? Never in my life have I encountered a doctor that won't just give me a few different lens brands to try. Plus they make you make a new appointment each time you want to try a different brand of contacts, so it will be several weeks at minimum before you can actually find a brand you like. Just go to Costco!! In the end I just did the ExpressExam at 1800 contacts and got them to renew the existing prescription I already had since my prescription didn't change, and the brand is still being sold online despite the fact that this eye center told me the brand is being discontinued. Everyone I encountered - doctor, students, salespeople, receptionists - was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Special shoutout to Rom B. and Daisy D. in the eyewear center and Dr. Krohn who oversaw my eye exam. For the eyeglasses store, it is worth making an appointment. You will have a better experience and receive a fairer price here than at luxury stores in the area, and there are plenty of everyday and fashion forward options to choose from. read more

I have to make an appointment to look at glass frames? In the past, I've always given them five stars all around. At this point, I'd give them five stars for the Exams, but only three stars for the Eyewear Center. To be precise, I think that the quality of service at the Eyewear Center is excellent; the main problem is reaching someone on the phone to make an appointment! They have a recording that says you can book a appointment online, but it's not true. All you can do is request that they call you to set up an appointment to look at frames... a very 20th century approach to scheduling. Last week, I was on hold for two different calls for twenty minutes each, only to be suddenly disconnected. Jason my optometrist was so interesting and professional, wonderful demeanor. I was ​thrilled with how Jason explained the exam tests and how the eye works. A benefit of a first rate academic institution and my alma mater. Jason advised me to wear polarized lenses. I am outside each day, a bicycle commuter with a sailboat. So today I purchased my first pair of 580 sunglasses, at West Marine. These folks are literally my neighbors and treat me as such. Island of Alameda, California where I have a Bentley 38. I need protection on the water and as a bicycle commuter. I love the location on the UC Berkeley campus and make a day out of my optometry appointments. I've been going to the UC Eye Center for over 40 years, since I was a student there. The eye exams have always been excellent - very thorough and accurate. I also have gotten my glasses there. Good variety of frames and high quality service... until now. Hence the loss of 2 stars. The eye center has become another profit oriented business, pushing upcharges rather than what you necessarily need. I recently ordered some new lenses in an existing frame. I wanted glass lenses instead of plastic because plastic scratches so easily. The optician pushed a non-reflective coating - which I never had or needed on my glass lenses - never saying how much that would cost. I said okay thinking it would be small charge. It turned out to be the most expensive item on the bill. The "AR-Hoya SHV Meiryo EX40" coating was $175!! It may make sense for plastic lenses, but completely pointless for glass lenses. I am so pissed that that they snookered me on this. I called to have that removed from the order. They'd better do it or this review will go down to one star. read more

Okay this is long, however if you have time to read can you weigh-in by typing in "No or Yes." Yes if I'm overreacting. No if I'm not. Hello Ms. Rich, As usual I purchased my annual pair of eyeglasses from Meredith Morgan Eye Center at UC Berkeley Campus. The enamel began to chip away after wearing them 8 months. No damage to the frames. Don Knauss at the eye center took my glasses as if he were going to send them back to the manufacturer. I received a call on my voice mail telling me to come pick up my eyeglasses they were ready. When I looked at my eye glasses they were not only chipped in the initial area but another area was chipped also. When I questioned them they advised that they didn't send my eyeglasses to the manufacturer Swarovski but rather they called them and were advised that they had no other eyeglasses in this same model that were reported damage so they refused to repair or replace my eyeglasses. I truly believe that Mr. Knauss had no intention of assisting me and kept my eyeglasses for over eight days just to make a call to the manufacturer. He could have taken a picture and at least try to send a picture of the damage. Mr. Knauss told me I would have to go to the manufacturer myself. I told him I wanted to escalate the issue with his manager. I asked Mr Knauss for his manager's contact information including telephone number and her email. Mr. Knauss came back and gave me a 3"x1" post-it with a name only which I misplaced. After repeating my request for additional information telephone, email he advised me he wasn't going to give me any additional information. I was shocked, I told Mr. Knauss that I had never been treated like he was treating me. I further explained that I had been a patient of the eye center for well over 20 years. I did call in later and was given Mr Knauss' boss name; Vicki B. Rich. What I decided to do is contact Swarovski. I sent pictures of the chipped enamel and gave them complete information of what happened at the eye center. I was given the assurance they they would do everything they could to assist me and apologize for the treatment I received at the eye clinic. To my dismay I received the following email from Swarovski. In short, they I said and I quote "In this case since the purchase wasn´t made directly with Swarovski you should contact the store that sold you the item because they would be the only ones that can assist you. Kindly, Sophie Swarovski Customer Service T: + 1 800 426 3088 Can you believe this. I wrote them back the following; "I disagree. This is an issue with defective materials that were used, specifically the enamel painted on the frame. I purchased new appliances from Home Depot. When the ice making machine stop working they referred me back to the manufacturer Samsung. The warranty on my refrigerator covered the the damage ice making machine. In this instance your eyeglasses have a defect which cause the enamel to chip off, there is no other visible damage to my frame. In light of this I need your manager's name, telephone number and email address. I am escalating this issue until I am made whole. I'm hoping that you will negotiate this escalation in good faith and be an advocate for your customer who by the way has purchased your brand named jewelry over the years." This is a school for opticians. Students make mistakes in the learning process that customers pay for financially and by receiving sub-par medical care. A student optician guided me to very heavy glasses that squeezed my face like a vice grip. I went back and selected a new, better frame with the professor optician. Though I'm having headaches daily and unable to see up close to do my homework, they said I must wait over a week to place the order for the replacement glasses since the manager is on vacation. Requiring this bureaucratic delay to correct THEIR ERROR in dispensing glasses, a medically necessary device, is unacceptable and medical negligence. They are incompetent and overbooked, and the slow turnaround for glasses purchases is an obstacle to anyone needing timely care. My initial eye exam was September 27, and today 7 weeks later (with at least 7 visits and countless phone calls) I am still trying to get glasses that help me see and don't hurt my face. I wish I had taken my prescription elsewhere and heeded all the previous negative reviews. DO NOT RECCOMMEND. read more

I've been visiting the university eye centre since I was a grad student at UC Berkeley. For the most part, the care seems to be pretty solid - it is a teaching hospital, so they have access to technology that smaller outfits usually don't have access to. If you have wonky eyes, like me, than that's no bad thing! The centre itself is on the older side, which lends it a certain museum like ambience. If you like old university campuses then you'll enjoy your visit. The staff are friendly. Most of the time, I'm usually seen by a youthful student doctor, which is usually fine - they have the backing of Dr. S (in my case) who teaches the contact lens clinic and knows her stuff! The glasses clinic here is VERY EXPENSIVE. This might be the norm in the US - but after spending $450 on my initial set of glasses here, I've since gone to Warby Parker and spent MUCH LESS on being able to see well. Plus, they do low cost lens updates if your prescription changes, which is very helpful. A tip on parking: if you're in a rush, just park at the clinic and stump up the $3 or $5 or whatever it is. This is less stressful than trying to find street parking, having to park multiple blocks away, guessing how long your appointment will take to avoid overfeeding the meter, running to the appointment because you are now late, and stressing throughout that your meter might be up. read more

This review applies ONLY to the contact lens staff at the MM. The residents and doctors I've encountered there have always been very polite and professional. I'm writing this review late, but I had such a negative experience last summer that it left a permanent bad taste in my mouth. After an exam, the contact lens center ordered contacts for me by accident, and when they came in and called me, I spoke to someone there and politely explained that I had specifically asked the employee at the lens center NOT to order the contacts, and she must have either not heard me or had put the order in before I said that I wanted them and just didn't cancel it. The employee I spoke to the first time said that she would take care of it, and I thought that was the last of it. A month later, I got another voicemail, called the eye center again, and again politely explained the situation to this second person. She became very aggressive and implied that I was lying. This upset me enormously, since I have been coming to the Meredith Morgan Eye Center for 20 years for my eye care, contacts and glasses, and have been a loyal customer during that time. I asked to speak to someone above her, and eventually got a call from the center manager. The manager was very conciliatory and said she would cancel the order, but my experience of MM has been permanently soured - I won't be back. Honestly, this incident is kind of the last straw for me - since the Covid-19 shutdown, the staff I've encountered at MM have been rude and sullen. Most of them seem to hate working there and take it out on the customers. However, I haven't been back since my last eye exam last summer, and things may have improved in the intervening months. The care by the student clinicians is top notch. However, when calling the 510-642-2020 phone number no one picks up the phone and they no longer accept voice mail messages. This is a double-edged sword because I received the text message to schedule an appointment to pick up my eyeglasses but I am unable to do that since no one picks up the phone and voice mail messages are not accepted. It's like a dog chasing after its tail. This is very disappointing since I have been going to the eye center since 2001 and I now bring my family to handle their eyecare needs as well. I made the mistake of ordering contacts from them. The contacts never arrived. After a few weeks of waiting I called to see if they could send replacements. They refused, saying that it was delivered inside my mailbox. I explained that my mailbox is locked and I'm the only one with a key, so perhaps the package was mistakenly delivered to someone else's mailbox but it definitely wasn't in mine. The manager Julie was rude and oddly aggressive. She said she doesn't know what happened to my contacts but it's my job to figure it out. She refused to send replacements or provide a refund and she said that she'll personally fight with my credit card company if I attempt to dispute the charge for a product that I never received. The doctors there are fine but, apparently, some of the administrative staff are drunk with power. Don't risk it. Almost every other contact delivery service will seek to make things right if you don't receive what you paid for. Patronize them instead. You'll save yourself a headache. read more

During CoVID appointments were harder to book and have to have an appointment to go browse the frames etc so sometimes can't get frames appt after the exam but overall the care and quality is still good that I make the drive a few times per year to Berkeley from South Bay/Peninsula to do the exams. read more

WARNING: This is an optometry school, so it will likely be a longer eye exam than what you're used to. A student will first run the eye exam; the attending physician will then re-run most things to ensure accuracy. Also, because it's a learning opportunity for the optometry students, they run everything possible (e.g., dilation, pressure check, etc.) to get the experience. The last time I went, I opted out of dilation because I just didn't have the extra time to spend. My last two appointments have lasted 2 hours for the exam, then another 45-60 minutes to get through the glasses selection process. STAFF: The front desk staff are ok... they don't answer the phone and certainly aren't the warmest... but they do reply really quickly to email. There's a lady physician there that is so kind; and my experience with the students has always been great. APPOINTMENTS It can be hard to get an appointment, so I'd recommend calling/emailing about 6 weeks in advance from the date you'd like to be seen. Also, the last time I went-- due to COVID-- I had to make a separate appointment to select my glasses... which placed a 2hr gap in between my actual appointment and deflecting my frames. This process may have changed by now, but it was inconvenient to say the least. GLASSES SELECTION: I used to go to the Tang Center for my eye exams, but a few years back, the Tang Center sent me to Minor Hall to view their glasses selection. Ever since then... I've been hooked-- they have a really decent selection to choose from. PARKING: Parking is sometimes available in the Minor Hall parking lot. They'll validate and it'll cost you something like $3-$5. Parking in their lot provides you peace of mind since you never know how long you'll be there... it takes away the meter-feeding anxiety. Alternatively, when a spot is not available in the lot, metered street parking is often available within a one block radius of the eye center. Overall, I like this place and--for now-- I will continue getting my annual eye exam here. read more

I have been going to this clinic for years to get my eye exams. Because the eye exams are great: they take 1h30, and they are exceptionally thorough and informative. The students who see you are efficient, and their professors who supervise the exams are also great to deal with. The problem is the idiotic system their clinic concocted to make appointments. It is never clear online which clinic you are making an appointment with (plain exam? specialty? lens office? ) and once you manage to make an appointment, you dont't receive an email or anything telling you you might or might not have successfully made an appointment. Mystery! Then, after you got your eyes examined and have the prescription in hand, you need to make another appointment if you want their "eyewear center", or whatever their eyeglass clinic is called, to get your lenses filled. Another poorly designed web site is coming ahead for you, with again no guarantee you actually made an appointment. My question is: this is UC Berkeley, one of the top universities in this country and in the world, for business and IT matters, and they can't find or hire someone who can design a clear and efficient web site to manage their appointments? As long as you advocate for yourself to get a senior attending to work with you, the care is great. Appointments are long, but i budget time for that. No parking at all on weekends, so either bike or take Uber. Every transaction requires a separate appointment. Contacts seperate from Glasses of course....But also when your glasses arrive you need separate appointment for adjustments (and who doesn't need an adjustment????). Be sure to ask what is included. Here is my most recent experience trying to make an appointment. I called the office during the week and nobody answered, so I made an appointment through their website. The following Monday, I got a voicemail saying that I needed to call them back to provide insurance and demographic information (which patients cannot provide online) or they would cancel the appointment. When I called them back I gave them my insurance and demographic information (I don't have vision insurance), and then I asked why they give patients the option to make online appointments if we can't provide all the necessary information online and have to call them on the phone anyway. After some very useless "ok, well what can I do for you at this time/thank you for your feedback" nonsense, I finally talked to someone who told me that the office was aware that this was a problem; it has been a problem for a while; other patients are mad about it; and that it has been wasting both the office's and patients' time. They supposedly gave me the email address of the office manager, and I wrote an email to the manager expressing how ridiculous this all was. I never heard back from them. Fast forward to a few days before my appointment and I get a form email saying that they have tried to contact me to get my insurance and demographic information and that I need to call them back or they will cancel my appointment. Are you kidding me? Firstly, they did NOT try to contact me after the previous phone call. Secondly, I gave them my insurance information (namely, that I don't have vision insurance) and demographic information during that previous phone call. I called them back and they said they would make a note this time that I don't have insurance (gee, thanks... might have been a good idea to do that the first time.) I am halfway expecting to get another mass-produced email tomorrow telling me to call them back with my insurance and demographic information or they will cancel my appointment. If this is what you want to go through just to make an appointment for an eye exam, by all means, go here. If not, go somewhere else. I am very disappointed that their office is like this now because I first started going here about 30 years ago as a child. I am writing to you to file a complaint about the customer service I received on June 11, 2021 from Maryjane. I was scheduled for a follow up appointment on 6/30/21 and wanted to know more about the purpose and the fees associated. Maryjane explained she could not confirm the fees associated because she is not my optometrist and my chart is the only information available. I asked if she could follow up with my doctor and she responded that I would have to find out on the day of the appointment. This is unacceptable as I am located in Daly City and would appreciate some level of effort to reach out to my doctor. Furthermore, when I tried to let Maryjane know that I could not hear her due to her connection, she interrupted me asking me to let her finish. This resulted in her having to repeat her message again. My interaction with her was unprofessional, rude, and her lack of empathy does not align with Berkeley Optometry's values in their comprehensive eye care or customer service. I've been a CRC patient since 2010 and my experience has been overall great, however my experience with Maryjane was very unpleasant and is not what I would have expected from the Meredith Morgan University Eye Center. The assistance here from the students and eyewear specialists is phenomenal. They are always so very kind and thorough. I really enjoy my appointments and during COVID, they have been extra clean and took all the necessary precautions and were not rushed whatsoever. Unfortunately, their appointment booking process is horrendous. They rarely answer the phone. This has been an ongoing issue for years with me and friends who also come here. You can leave a message but they have never responded to me or my friend. Their online booking system is very glitchy, (I was looking to schedule to pick up my glasses that arrived and could not find any appointments even as far as October 2021, it's March 1st). You also cannot go in person without an appointment (due to COVID and they do not have an email. Once you do get through, the assistance is phenomenal, but all in all, they desperately need more people at the reception. If you feel like you'd need more reliable communication/availability or if you have an urgent eye issue that might need more follow-up/support, I would frankly go elsewhere. But if you are looking for somewhere to go once every other year for thorough check-ups, they will probably be a good fit. read more

Wow. I am blown away by my experience here. I came in as a walk-in on Saturday for sudden, horrible, burning eye pain. I was in tears, crying, and blind in one eye (that progressed to both eyes the next day). I ended up coming in the next day for a follow-up. BOTH appointments were 500%. A+++++++++. (Yes, even taking into account Cal's grade deflation.) The first resident doctor was named Brittany, I think, and the attending was Dr. Wong. I didn't catch the second resident doctor's name, but that wasn't because she was any less awesome. She had very cute glasses. The second attending was Dr. Vong. The two residents I saw were so amazingly sweet and compassionate!!!! The second resident made an involuntary cooing noise over me when she saw how much pain I was in, which made me feel very validated in my agony. They tried very hard to help me out, lessen the pain (which they did), and get me a prescription for some drops to help the inflammation and swelling. I seriously cannot say enough good things about my experience here. I am so grateful they are open on weekends, and were able to help me get an appointment right away. Dr. Vong even personally texted someone he knew in southern California (since I was just visiting) to make sure they took my insurance, and then referred me over to them. I've never experienced such a painful and distressing eye disorder like this before, and I hope to never again. I go to the Meredith Morgan eye center on campus because they take my employee vision insurance. Without a doubt, one of the worst optometrist centers in Northern California. They never answer the phone, first of all. They will not return voicemail messages, ever. Bills are sent with the incorrect amounts. I still have a pair of glasses there that I am trying to retrieve from 2019. I have been unable to get through to the optician department. And now I am out almost $700. My only choice at this point is to take them to small claims court, which I fully intend to do. They have lost items, they have given me incorrect prescriptions for my hard contact lenses, they give me conflicting advice even between appointments that are close together. Without a doubt, every time I go there, I get poor service and attentiveness from the students who are the first people to examine you and look at your prescription, and then you get a very rushed consultation with an actual optometrist. If you're willing to risk this, go ahead. I'm no longer willing to do so after trying this place over and over again over the years. I even had negative experiences with him when I was a student at UC Berkeley decades ago. read more

I've recommended the UC Eye Center to anyone who is looking for a new eye doctor or eyewear option. They're the best! I've been coming for over 20 years, and have no plans to go anywhere else if I can avoid it. Every year, I get my vision exam and contacts exam. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. The student practitioners are so thorough, with a doctor who oversees the results of their work. I've never had an eye exam that's as thorough as what they do. The eyewear center has appointments so that you have someone ready to help you, when you're ready, but without any awkward hovering to make you feel uncomfortable about staring at yourself in 25 different pairs of glasses. They offer discounts on contacts which are ordered in 6 or 12 month supplies, and for having them mailed to your home. Free parking is available for those with an appointment, but it's best to allow some walking time in case the nearby parking is taken. read more

I love it here. I get my eye exams and glasses here and I have for years. They do a very thorough job on the exam and you get examined by a student and then a faculty member so it might take longer than at a regular place. This is a teaching facility. The students are very kind and the faculty a little rushed but precise and thorough. I love the eye center - they have tons of glasses and the staff here are very professional and helpful. They recently helped me repair an old pair of glasses that I sat on and brought them back to life. They did not charge me anything for that. So this place is great! read more

Another superlative visit to Meredith Morgan Eye Center! Our family has been coming here since the 70s and everytime we've strayed we've been sorry. Great selection, but evenbetter service! Worst experience of my life! I have been coming to this eye center for years. I have always loved the service which is why I have continued to come back regardless of the higher prices. This time around I have gotten the WORST SERVICE! At this point I feel like I should have gone to Costco and would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I'm actually contemplating if I would even come back at this point. I came about 2 months ago, I believe on August 1st, to purchase a new pair of glasses and get nose pads installed. I had a student assist me who was nice and patient but his mentor was extremely rude and condescending. I did not feel good leaving when I left that day. on top of all that, the prices went even higher! so disappointing. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks for my glasses to be ready since I was getting nose pads installed which is completely understandable. I waited until the 4 week mark to give them an extra week because I'm sure due to Covid they are understaffed and processes are just slower in general. I finally decided to call and check on the status of my glasses. A woman answered and informed me that my glasses were still not ready. She made excuses that everything is pretty backed up. I asked how much longer it would be. She told me she would call me back but of course SHE DIDN'T which was super frustrating and unprofessional. I waited THREE MORE weeks and heard NOTHING! I decided to finally call and check on the status of my glasses. I was then told it was ready for pickup. I asked why I wasn't called or informed and the gentleman had no idea. He was very kind and understanding and assisted me as much as he could. I scheduled to pick up my glasses the next available day I could, a week later. I show up for my appointment, my name was called fairly quickly, the girl who assisted me was very nice and we exchanged pleasant conversation while we waited for her mentor. But then I ended up waiting 30 minutes to be assisted for my adjustment. Yet, another disappointment. Not only that, they found that my nose pad was incorrectly installed and was loose!!! So I had to leave my glasses that I already waited 8 weeks for!!! The worst part of it is, I traveled from Daly City to come to this place solely because of my previous great service! It was worth the price, the wait, the travel, the time, everything and now I just continuously receive horrible service for 1 pair of glasses!! I finally got a notification that my glasses are ready in 2 weeks on October 17th. I called them back on Monday and I received no phone call but an email Tuesday morning. I let them know my availability which is Saturday mornings. I receive an email response stating the next available appointment isn't for 2 weeks. I decided to give the office a call to speak with someone instead. I explain to the person who answered the phone that I need to be accommodated because I have waited long enough. This guy LAUGHS! LAUGHS! I mean the unprofessionalism of it all is beyond me. I feel like I should be refunded 100% for all of the many inconveniences mentioned above.
