Loved working with Werner Printing. I recently used them to print party invitations that used two different printing processes. They were super helpful from beginning to end...and the final result is simply beautiful! Great quality. Bob and his team were super responsive, and I look forward to using them again. read more

I just received our print order for my Grand-Aunt's funeral program. From start to finish, this experience went so smoothly. I got my order completed in a few hours after submitting my final document and less than a day from the first time I spoke with Bob. I spoke with Bob by phone and we also communicated by email. Bob made things so simplified for me. Bob was very kind and easy to work with. When I went to pick up the order, I met Jennifer and she was also very kind and approachable. I highly recommend Werner for all your printing needs. read more

We ordered our wedding invitations from Werner printing and they turned out fantastic! Early on, I knew that I wanted to design my own wedding invitations, so I researched a number of local printing companies to discuss options and techniques. I was really intrigued with gold foiling, but most companies were charging a ton for this method of printing. We met with Bob Werner and not only was he willing to work with us on the price, he also offered suggestions and provided guidance on how we could achieve the best looking product. Werner printed our invitations in a timely manner and the execution of the gold foil printing was flawless. Even the smallest details were done with the utmost precision. I will definitely be using this company for any future printing needs! read more

I used Werner for the first time last year for a clients holiday cards, which I usually order through Neimans. They exceeded all expectations! The printing was beautifully done! And they would be hard to top on service, turnaround and price. Highly recommend!! read more

I work with Bob and his team about once a month. They're friendly, reliable and are very accommodating to my last minute print requests. I would highly recommend them for any print needs you have in the Chicagoland area. I'm happy to support local businesses. read more

We use Werner for our printing needs at work all the time. They are always great to work with, fast with proofs and they take pride in their work. So when I was looking for a printer to print my wedding invitations, they were my top choice. I contacted Don Mader and talked to him about what we wanted and what files he would need (I did a custom design). I emailed them over, saw the proofs and within a couple of weeks was able to see the finished product. They looked amazing! I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

This awesome family owned business takes great care of my printing needs at work. We do a fair amount of volume, and the business I am employed by has worked with Werner for decades. We consider them a strategic partner. They take pride in their work, and on the rare occasion that there's a problem, our rep (Bob Werner) corrects it immediately. I recently called him about a problem and rather than returning my call, he arrived ten minutes later. read more

We have used Werner Printing for many years. They are conscientious and very, very knowledgable printers. We have used them for stationary, cards, brochures and event programs. Their work and quality service are outstanding. As a 3rd generation family business you really feel the difference working with them and their staff. read more

After nearly ten years doing without real business cards, I finally ordered a new set along with some stationery. I like the intricate detail and saturated colors that the engraving process can provide but have found prices at Crane's or Dempsey & Carroll to greatly exceed my budget. I kept searching and found Werner, a family-owned business in Chicago since 1921. Over the years, I've walked past their West Loop building almost weekly without really noticing it (and I bet locals have seen their sign and clock, as well). They engrave and provide many other services, and I found their prices are competitive. I emailed them and quickly heard back from Bob Werner, the current head whose grandfather founded the company. They've designed materials for local businesses, United States presidents, and many people and organizations in between. I thought my order might be a little small for them, but they gave my project significant attention. Bob educated me on the engraving process and standards, providing significant expertise but ultimately letting me decide on the final product without being pushy in the least. I am very happy with my order, which includes business cards, a few sizes of letterhead, and envelopes. We did encounter a couple of issues (one of which was my fault), but Bob and his team promptly addressed them both, highlighting his company's commitment to quality. It's no surprise to me that Werner Printing's customer-serving approach has served them so well for nearly one hundred years. I'm certainly already looking forward to the next project I might have with them. read more

Working with Bob & the team at Werner Printing was great! I used them to print my wedding invitations suite (which my cousin designed), our poster-sized seating chart, and our poster-sized program signage. For my invitations, they were able to accommodate my request to do gold foil printing at an affordable rate, were timely in their delivery, and produced a beautiful product. The posters turned out beautifully, really popped on the easels in the room! I would highly recommend working with Werner Printing for any wedding needs! read more

Werner Printing exceeded every one of my expectations: customer service, price, quality, and turnaround time. I don't know why this fancy commercial paper bothers with small wedding jobs or why they are so incredibly pleasant and affordable. I am sure commercial customers would have a similarly positive experience. I started out my wedding invite search looking at all of the typical online vendors. My friends who married before me used all of the best templates on VistaPrint, Wedding Paper Divas, and Minted. The leftover templates were all unattractive, unaffordable, or both. I decided to find a printer and choose a template on Etsy. I am so glad I did. After my choice of husband, it was the best wedding-related decision I made. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Werner Printing is a commercial print store. When I submitted an online request for a quote, Bob Werner called me back personally and talked through how I could approach invitations. I had an incredibly small budget for my invitations, but throughout the process of printing invitations and various paper goods for the wedding itself Werner Printing treated my fiancé and me like we were important customers and they cared about their wedding. They must just love weddings, because the way they act makes no financial sense. My fiancé and I frequently look back on our experience with gratitude and confusion. We stopped by Werner Printing in person hoping to pick up some sample papers to get colors and weights. We weren't expecting to speak with anyone about invitations. However, upon arriving we were told that Bob was out, so we would met with Ed. Ed took us to the Werner Printing conference room and showed us past wedding invitations and other print work that they had done. He explained to us the nomenclature and what made invitations costly or affordable. There was no "hard sell" or making us feel uncomfortable. Then he left my fiancé and me alone to look through all of their materials and brainstorm. We left that day telling Ed that we would be back in touch when we had selected a design (i.e. left without making an order). Ed was pleasant and professional. He gave us his business card and told us to reach out if we had any questions. When we did select a design, Ed quoted us just about every iteration possible for the invitation. He was so patient and made us feel like he really cared about our satisfaction. When I picked up the materials from the print store (which is conveniently located near Ogilvie) Ed and Bob each stopped by to make sure I was pleased with the results. PRICE. I spent about $200 total on invitations and envelopes to invite 170 people, and my invitations are gorgeous. I am so proud of them. The same invitations would have cost 30-60% more anywhere else, even taking into account the constant sales and promotions offered online. Printing wedding materials was also genuinely affordable. Moreover, despite our very small budget Werner Printing made us feel like special, valued customers. QUALITY. As I said above, the invitations look amazing. The paper is the perfect heft, the envelopes are classy, and the thermography printing looks great. I have received a million compliments, and I designed the invitations myself (with the help of a designer friend) after loving a couple of the invitations I saw at Werner Printing. My programs, wedding signs, and mad lib sheets also look great. Ed matched the programs and mad lib sheets to the color of my invitations without me even asking. TURNAROUND TIME. Werner Printing is also so quick. My invitations were ready very soon after I ordered them, and they printed out my wedding signs and programs the week before my wedding. I picked up the invitations at their store, but I am sure they also do a great job shipping and interacting only via email, online, or over the phone. read more

I have worked with Werner off and on over the years, mainly at one of my partner's urging. I don't recall too many problems in the past, but this time they really messed up. I was out of business cards, so I placed an order with Werner two weeks ago through my managing partner. I had to use Werner because my firm uses them, and in the interest of uniformity, I was a captive to them. The proofs for half of my order were deficient in that they used a template from two versions ago rather than the most recent one, which is what I ordered. Very stupid of them. And they were quite slow in changing them. What made matters worse, however, was that they took a full week and half to print one run of business cards when I was out of my previous batch. Then they promised them to me on a Monday, but I did not get them until the following day because they shipped them to my managing partner instead of me, even though it was my name on the cards. After I complained to them about their service, they "copped an attitude" with me by complaining about "the special attention this small job required due to [my] multiple decision changes." First of all, if the job was too small for them, despite the business my small firm has given them for years, they shouldn't have accepted it. Second, at least one of the "multiple decision changes" was occasioned by their giving me a proof from two or three runs ago rather than the most recent one. They asked me to reconsider giving them this online review because "In fact, you were given exemplary service." Not a chance, and what a laugh. If this was exemplary service, I would hate to see what non-exemplary service would be. Hopefully, this will be the last time I will have to use them. read more

I had initially contacted Werner Printing earlier in the year for help with my wedding invitations. Our friend was designing the invitation and we knew we wanted to use a local vendor so that we could check out a proof, etc. prior to printing the full amount. From the start, Ed was extremely thorough and helped me not only understand print treatments available, but also provided me with a recommendation based on the design. We were so thrilled with the way the invitations turned out that we actually ended up using Werner for all of our wedding needs! Ceremony programs, menu cards, table cards.... literally, everything! I highly recommend using Werner Printing - they are extremely helpful, offer a quick turn around and their work is phenomenal. Thanks again everyone! read more

We recently had Werner Printing make thank you notes for our infant son. We were unsure about what we wanted the notes to look like. They worked with us to create the perfect thank you note. The product is of the highest quality, the customer service was exceptional, and the best part was how quickly the order was completed. With limited time (having a newborn), getting these notes quickly meant more than anything to us. We have received many compliments from friends. read more

After being requested by the company to write a review, I did because I was indeed satisfied. I am a very small business and was just getting started when I first printed with Werner. However since that time, they have messed up several of my orders and when it was time to reprint them, the quality was horrible. I ordered 50 posters and received 50 posters, but they were not of the right file. They fixed this order without issue, but it still wasted plenty of my time. The other misses were worse... I ordered 500 cards and received 443 cards, so I requested the remaining amount that I paid for. When I got them, they were on lighter weight paper and weren't cut properly so they had blue guidelines on some of the edges. Then I ordered 50 posters and received only 41. I again inquired about the miss and informed them I was dissatisfied with the recent treatment and quality of product and would take my business elsewhere if it continued. I have not heard from, therefore obviously I am going elsewhere. read more

This review is long overdue. I've worked with Bob and team on a couple of projects and a all-in-all they are wonderful to work with. Their quality is great, turnaround time is fast and pricing really can't be beat. On my most recent project, I needed a physical color proof and they were able to make that happen without issue. I will definitely continue using Werner for future print jobs. read more

We've not had anything but excellent service and great quality printing. They've helped us out of every emergency. Ed is the man!

I have worked with Bob and the team at Werner for more projects than I can count. The pricing simply can't be beat, and when they make the occasional error they rush to correct it (which is more than I can say about most companies of any type). They even help me out to my car when the boxes are even remotely big or heavy. This is an old fashioned kind of place, with paper experts, not an impersonal or super hightech joint, so adjust your expectations accordingly and you'll be thrilled. read more
