The single worst WENDY's location I have ever been to. I'm 58 and a semi-retired professional drummer. I have play d all over God's Green Earth and at at more truck stops, fast food locations, and sit-down restaurants than I could possibly count. When you're on the road with a working band, drive-thru's and truck stops are literally all you eat. So believe me -- I've eaten at every burger joint from Seattle to Miami. The WENDY's in Lake Placid, FL is the worst burger location I have personally ever eaten at. We went thru the drive-thru. They got the order right. Didn't matter. Horribly made. The toppings were everywhere,,and in inconsistent amounts. It's as tho they physically THREW the stuff on the burgers. Buns so stale they were actually spongy / bouncy to the touch. The tomatos were sliced dime-thin, and they were white with no red color at all. They were dry and a little like beach sand for texture. The burgers must have been made prior to us ordering because they were bone dry and room temperature. The lettuce was completely wilted and browning, the pickles were thrown to one side, and the whole thing was buried in ketchup. Even the Frosty was sub-par, as it was funny, think and had been spoiled all down the side of the cup. The french fries were way too dark, so they obviously hadn't changed out the deep fryer oil for hours. If we hadn't already been across the highway and back otr we would've complained. As it was we wound up barely eating anything, and stopped at the CULVER'S in Sebring, which I highly recommend. They were spot-on perfect CT and ev n gave our German Shepherd, Lady a bunch of love and petting and a free burger patty and small "Pup Cup" of vanilla ice cream. But we shouldn't have had to eat TWICE to get our supper. This has as our second time at this WENDY'S location, and baste oth experiences wer terrible. We went back to see if maybe that first one was just a bad day for them. Nope. It was terrible again. So that'll be it for us. The Lake Placid, FL WENDY'S location is 0-for-2. My advice is to go to the Mickey D's. The Burger King in town is God-awful too, and Taco Bell is not much better. But the McD's is good, friendly, and consistent. Don't waste your time or money here. Service definitely needs to be improved the lady at the front that took my order tonight order number 10060 completely forgot to start my order, I received my food 20 minutes after I ordered it just because after around 15 minutes of waiting I went ahead and asked what was taking so long. I am a regular customer at this local Wendy's. Please understand in this area the majority of daytime customers are elderly. I have no issue with the food; the servers (are always polite); and the place is clean. HOWEVER.... Today these pictures show the entry mats at each of the two entry doors. I mentioned how dangerous they were to the order clerk and this was the reply: "We know, we know, we've told management but they won't do anything." I replied, "I or anyone of these customers could take a dangerous fall. Your maintenance person should move them." The clerk just repeated themselves. Eventually a very elderly man tossed them out of the way (at one door) so his companion with a walker could get in. Walking into any fast food place of course requires the bar to be lowered. Even lower than your normal Highlands County, FL curve. But DAMN, aside from the GHETTO ANGRY RUDE staff, this place is so dirty you can skate across the floor with rubber soles on. The fries tasted like they were cooked in oil that hadn't been changed since 2010. The tables are greasy and the burger tasted like some rancid fish grease was on the grill where it was cooked. If I could give this General Manager zero stars I would. Driving through town, pulled into the drive through, gave a coupon. She pulled the "we to not accept this coupon here". Really?? It's from World Headquarters. She was rude, lazy, and ignorant. It was sad to watch. She took the coupon after a loooooong conversation. We will not return. read more

I've lost 7 pounds in two weeks on my Wendy's diet. Large plain chili and a large apple & pecan salad.

This Wendy's restaurant on 502 US 27 South is horrendous.I was traveling via bus,and one of the stops was in Lake Placid,Fl on route to Fort Lauderdale.This a schedule stop from this transportation system.When I entered the restaurant,I was the only one there.Your employee (cashier) named Hakusho had difficulty taking this order,one of drink,one medium frosty and 3 orders of chicken nuggets,no sauce.After the first item,the large drink,she had difficulty finding on your screen the medium frosty button.Subsequently,had difficulty with the nuggets also.The problem continues because I left without the frosty that was ordered because she put something else on her screen.I know $10.00 per hour but that goes to show you why your company is maybe 3rd best the fast food business.Pathetic,I gave one star to be nice.Keep up that great service.Need new energy in that store.UNREAL. read more

This place deserves 0 stars. The cashier was rude. This place is ghetto. Definitely not the nicest place to eat in Lake Placid. The customers are rude. One lady was cussing her kids out loud enough the whole restaurant could hear her. My grandmothers order was wrong. What part of no cheese can these people not comprehend? I will not be visiting this place again. Thank goodness I'm not from here and won't have to worry about it. The bathroom floors were wet and obviously a safety hazard. Don't waste your time. I went to Wendy's for a quick meal after work on my way to an appointment. When I got there the person at the drive-thru said something quickly I didn't catch it I asked them what they had said. At which point they slowly and exaggeratedly drawled out and repeated their phrase. I like my sandwiches without a bun. so I let them know that they interrupted me again asking if it was a sandwich or a combo I explained it was a sandwich and once again requested no bun at which point the person said " so that's two buns?" And I pause for a minute. this felt both condescending and mocking. I cancelled my order and drove across the street. I prefer Wendy's products to McDonald's. however given the choice of being treated poorly or waiting in a long line for food of a lesser quality. I chose to give my business to McDonald's today. I am using my time in the Drive-Thru line, where my order was taken quickly politely and professionally. To write this review. It is my recommendation that this Wendy's location engage in some customer service retraining. read more

Horrible place. As I was in Li e they got two people's orders wrong then proceeded to get mine wrong as well. Then when I brought it back up to counter to explain, the manger who took my order insisted he heard me correctly and refused to fix it. Worst Wendy's ever. I'll never eat here again. read more

This is by far the worst Wendy's I have ever been to. I have tried it more than once. I should have figured it out where I never saw many customers there every time I drove by, but the Mc Donald's across the street always had plenty of cars in the parking lot and the drive through had a line! The white manager who was a lady was really rude to her employees and she was working the drive thru and said, "give me the money!" in a rude way... Also rolled her eyes the first time i came thru. I don't think i was being too difficult and i wasn't being rude to her. Poor customer service. Service slow. No one in line. Ordered order they dipped the chili and made the frosted. By the time the sandwich was servers chili no longer hot and frosted melted. No coke in machine - no diet - not caffeine free. Employees agruing among themselves. Table unsteady turned on the leg. Bad bad experience. This is the worse Wendy's. Shame!!!!! read more
