*CASH ONLY* This 40 year old, family-owned, deli is a true gem! I went here because of a Yelp elite review and it was the best decision I've made today. TGIF! Service was quick and friendly! The lady at the counter knew both of the other customers by name. Regulars are always a good thing in any establishment. The sandwich was excellent, and I miss my Long Island, Deli's! I didn't know it was cash only and came up short $.50. She told me not to worry about it. That won me over and every time I'm on Long Island I will attend this deli as well as tip her. This place is fantastic. The breakfast and lunch sandwich options are vast; plus the breakfast sandwiches are affordable. The selection of chips is impressive, too. I don't mind that it is cash only. The first time I visited I had to use the ATM. $2.50 charge, which my bank took care of. If "cash only" is your breaking point, that sucks for you. That was a BANGIN' B.E.C. I had this morning! Just before Thanksgiving I posted on social media teasing everyone who moved to Florida to get in line for their B.E.C (Bacon-Egg-Cheese on a hard roll, very NY) well, my buddy Lou said the best he ever had was on Maple Ave in Smithtown. I walked in this morning to a typical Long Island Deli. I see a gentleman behind the counter wearing a Hawaiian shirt taking orders. He said to the customer in front of me, morning Fred. The usual? Yessir. He asks for my name and I ordered my go to: A soft scrambled B.E.C with S.P.K. The gentleman pours me a coffee and we start talking about the military (both Navy) he was also an amphibious guy so he's a solid dude. My egg sandwich? Perfectly cooked soft eggs, freshly melted cheese and just the right amount of bacon. Bacon is the key because if it was some weak, limp bacon I wouldn't be rushing to write a review. I called up before hand and ordered a 2 bacon egg and cheese's on a roll to be picked up. When I walk in there and pick up my order there's only 1 sandwich in the bag. but I wasnt gonna say anything only because i only ended up paying for the 1. I paid for 1 anyway and went back home only to find that my sandwich HAD NO EGGS in it and it was just a bacon and cheese on a roll. Friendly clerks, Ample parking, accessible. All prices have gone up everywhere so the change they increased to my selections was well worth it and i support the local places as much as i can. Every time I come to Long Island I hit up Weinisch's Deli for the BEST bacon egg and cheese sandwich!Macaroni salad is dope too.

I walked in just in time. Here it is, 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon and there's a line ten deep as I was leaving. made me feel good about stopping here. I decided to have a #3,roast beef (I had regular instead of Cajun), bacon, mozzarella, on a garlic roll. No use pushing my luck, it's a long ride back to MA. It's been 2 years since I've been in a real NY deli, bu I thought nine bucks for a sandwich (non hero) was on the pricey side. I will say that it was one fine sandwich. It was hot, it didn't make a mess and it tasted great. Much better then anything I can get in MA, I would definitely stop back again, now that I am over my sticker shock. read more

It is cash only but that's to be expected for a mom and pop shop like this. I was amazed that every single person that walked in while I was there at least about 6 people they knew every single persons name. Thought I would give it a shot went there ordered a basic turkey hero sandwich lettuce tomato mayo. Went to the ocean opened it up and not impressive at all in fact the worst sandwich I've probably have eaten in my life. Sorry, when you are listed as a German deli there should be German food. There were premade Italian and American dishes that were in the cold cases. I purchased four deli salads. German potato salad, Dutch potato salad, regular potato salad and macaroni salad. All 4 had too much sugar added to them. That was not German potato salad. The German potato salad was an insult to my heritage. The other salads were okay. The Dutch potato salad was very watery. Not a fan and won't go back. 09/21/17 Apparently somebody did not like my review and left a nasty note. I stand by my original review. To the nasty person that left a nasty note(comment without a profile) I do make my own salads and I make better salads than this Deli. read more

I eat there a few times a week. The breakfast specials are outstanding. Free coffee or OJ with your Sammy. They also have these homemade muffins for 50 cents each or 3 for$1.50 They are the best. The staff if friendly and the place is spotless. Go there, you won't be disappointed. read more
