The service there is very good. The huge concern is that I don't think that the owners are very mindful of the expiration dates of things in their store, which makes you wonder just what else are they taking shortcuts on. Cleanliness, cross contamination, They have a little grocery area in the store with boxed pastas and other rough. The pasta expired almost 3 years ago. There's many other things that have very old product. There is a layer of dust on all the merchandise in that area. Not much cleaning going on. I wouldn't recommend eating there. I think they cut many corners. The health department needs to take a look. Take some pride in what you offer. Especially when the pricing is a bit much for what you get. read more

I hadn't been here in years because it's not around the corner but I was moving closer. So a couple of weeks ago I decided to give it a shot. Not much has changed. The heroes are very good. Prices are competitive. Great standards including cleanliness and acknowledgement and respect from the staff was great too. This little Deli has been around since 1969. This is a Deli that has been there for Generations families. The food taste like Home. The Hungry man is a family Favorite! Personally...I love the Egg and cheese on a poppyseed roll. They sell good old fashioned coffee... to shake the chill out of your morning. We come here for breakfast sandwiches. They are always well prepared, tastes great and a solid value for the price. Staff is always pleasant and accommodating. We call for the sandwiches and by the time we arrive, they are hot off the grill. read more

Did a catering order, six foot hero (Italian/American), tossed salad, deli salads, penne a la vodka, chicken francese. Most reasonably priced catering package in the area, and the food was spot on. Everyone loved the hot food, and the hero was absolutely fresh and crisp. The bread on the hero tasted homemade...that's how good it was. We've ordered catering from here a few times, and we will continue doing so. As an aside, this deli also makes the best egg sandwich in the area. The eggs are cooked perfectly...the tiniest bit runny but still firm enough that you can eat the sandwich while driving. Same quality every time. And if you like home fries, theirs are the best. Usually get the egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on a roll. Bacon is very crispy and not skimpy. Comes with small/med. coffee or OJ. Little over $5. French toast isade with cinnamon swirl bread. Big portion. Around $7. Home made cinnamon rolls (bigger than my fist!), Coffee cake (regular, chocolate, blueberry & apple (yet to see apple)) Both are DELICIOUS! Homeade rice pudding too. Muffins, bagels. Downfall is they only have plain cream cheese. Sandwiches and wraps for lunch. Cold salads. Homeless ribs (processed) Grilled chx. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Asked for an American Hero. They gave me 1 slice of American cheese and 2 slices of Swiss. Never had Swiss put on an American hero before. One of which had a strand of brown curly hair. They also gave me old brown lettuce. Never again read more

Not to bad of a Deli. I came and ordered a roast beef hero. It was a good sandwich. To bad they only put like 4 slices of roast beef on it. What ever happened to those deli that piled on the meat? Nothing like a hearty roast beef sandwich. This place is nicely stocked and clean. read more

So overpriced ... Ordered chicken noodle soup they charge me 549 and it was one tiny piece of chicken !!! Ordered pancakes and I seen them take them out of the freezer and put them in the microwave and charge me $7.00 for them. Also without telling me I use my debit card and then when I questioned the bill they said they charge 3% for using the debit card. read more

I've gotten egg sandwiches and chicken clubs from this deli. Only reason I've gone back is because of the convenient location. The food I've had is mediocre at best and definitely overpriced. They hit you with a dollar charge for any debit/credit purchases under 15 dollars. The staff was friendly enough and service was good. I would rate this a 2.5 if I could. Not the worst I've had, but the price for their product is my reasoning for the low rating. read more

I live right around the corner and only go here if I feel like walking somewhere. If you get a hot sandwich they heat it up in the microwave, which turns the chicken and everything else into rubber. I say crispy or well done bacon everytime and it's always raw and rubbery. If you get an egg sandwich the cheese is always thrown on last so its cold and never melted. read more

This a great local deli with a very friendly staff and have excellent breakfast specials. The deli is very busy in the mornings and the ordering system is a little strange but they pull it off. They also have great coffee always fresh and I like Starbucks Coffee to give you a idea. They also have a large selection of drinks and snacks to go with your order. read more

I hate incompetant lousy people with lousy food . STAY AWAY! firstoff smartass owner has no customer service skills as he thinks his place is so big that he can say and do anything he wants. He didn't care that my credit card was charged a service fee and dismissed it like .90 cents oh well too bad. ( I would have paid cash) Then if you ask for anything extra on a sandwich they charge you for everything from lettuce to onions which i have never seen in my life when your paying 9.99 for a hero/sub. Everytime i went there i had to deal with slick mouthed owner who always had something to say condescending. They prices are overpriced and food is average. Terrible experience and owner is real jerkie acting with no care in the world and UNPROFESSIONAL. Not for nothing I gave them another try and the owner couldn't help but rub it in that i paid for lettuce and onions on a 9.99 sandwich an extra 45 cents. Whats next an extra .50 cents for ketchup? I really like this place a lot. I am in Medford and there are no decent delis around here anymore. I buy their salads, and sometimes cold cuts . Inconsistent. How the hell do you screw up a BLT? You know the burnt bacon bits at the bottom of the pan? You put that in the microwave then on a BLT. Why would you even serve that to a customer. Usually decent but they've been lacking consistency. They even over charged a few times. I watch them ring up every time and every time it's different.
