Mia Carville Blueberry Class February 17, 2024
Christina V.

Lot was smaller than I thought, but still a nice visit browsing and wandering. Like other reviewers said, prices for soil, pots, and plants were surprisingly priced competitively -- might as well support an independent nursery! Came for Mia Carville's blueberry class February 17, 2024 and it was very helpful to me. Simple and clear instructions. I heard someone else say this was the third time they've attended this class. I was looking for a product that was sold out and staff were really helpful in trying to help me locate it and then letting me know I could come back in a week when they would be restocked.

Bottom Line: Gorgeous, super healthy plants but a bit slim on gifty items. Wow, I don't think I've ever seen happier plants! I shop at a fancy garden center on a regular basis that has healthy plants but the selection at Weidner's is unprecedented. It's as if every plant is in the perfect spot getting the perfect amount of sun and water. The gorgeous variety of poinsettias had my jaw on the ground. So pretty! Equally dazzling is the service. What drew me to Weidner's was the hope of finding some nice Christmassy winter gifty items like decor and ornaments. Unfortunately it was slim pickings but I hope to have better luck on my next visit.

Amazing service and education and prices with the plants!!! They have succulents with amazing colors to them and even found some rare babies. Will return soon, thank you for being so kind

Large selections of plants and flowers. Cactuses and succulents are in a great condition even during the winter time. Would love to come back during the spring time.

Maybe I came on an off day or off season or their plants aren't what I am looking for, but I was really disappointed in this nursery . Limited staff on a Tuesday afternoon. Super limited selection of house plants. Looks like it's not my kind of nursery. But it's huge and well laid out.

What a fantastic experience yesterday as I picked up some beautiful indoor plants. Who knew it could be so easy to freshen up my indoor area with something so perfect. I bought 3 pots and several plants with good advice on watering and sun exposure. Just 20 minutes away from me I will be sure to return. The two woman who assisted me made me feel very welcome and it was dog friendly

I have completely fallen in love with this gem of a nursery in Encinitas. I have been searching for…read morerare plants all over North County and have found that this has the best selection and best value for rare houe plants. This whole rack of plants came from Cordova, and not a single one can be found at any other nursery for these affordable prices (think 25%-50% of the price you'd find online). I have found several White Princess and Pink Princess Philodendron that have made exquisite gifts for the holidays. The most amazing Philodendron I found was the Jose Bueno, its leaves are easily at least 18" and I snagged it for 1/3 the online price! I have also found Swiss Cheese Monstera, as well as Thai Constellation and Albo varieties. My other amazing find has been their String of Turtles and String of Hearts, which are very rare as compared to the more typical string of pearls. The owner shared with me that he's been in business for over 38 years! He is super knowledgeable and has a vast inventory (hence the competitive pricing). The plants are all super healthy, and I've not had a single pest interloper from their collection. I have never left this nursery without finding what I was looking for. So if you're looking for presents this season (prepare to wow all of your friends and family while not breaking the bank) or want to expand on your rare house plant collection, this is your spot. Go before I buy all their plants.

However you have to be home, they have to be in your area ect so when it was taking a bit to get some from our normal suppliers we just decided to buy some. We figured it must be better quality as well since it was a only a few miles from us and we were paying a decent price. Once it got here we did our usual thing and spread it everywhere we have open space, around our planter boxes, ect. Now that we have had it for a few months though we are feeling duped. This is the opposite of what multch is supposed to do. There are weeds everywhere in our yard. No they cannot be from before because we have always had clover here and there and hand pull knowing that some will come back. These are weeds of all types that we have never had (mallow, dandelion ect). There are also mushrooms and even nasturtium growing. I am so disappointed as now it will be pretty much impossible to get rid of all these without chemicals. So don't buy mulch here. Just get it fresh out of the tree trimmers truck.
