Wow! That is all I can say for what is possibly the best grocery store in the entire world, and I am not exaggerating. I was so lucky that my friends took me to Wegmans when I was visiting the DC area over the memorial day weekend. I was a little skeptical when they suggested we would eat dinner in the grocery store. I now understand why. We ate in the seafood area and had the most delicious crabcake sandwich, grilled calamari, and Mahi sandwich. You could even enjoy a local craft beer or a wine perfectly paired for seafood. What I love most about Wegmans is the size. They had absolutely everything, not just a couple types of something but 30 types of something. Jeanne in the cheese area was awesome and recommended for us three types of delicious cheeses we have never had before. Our favorite was the cheese from the Swiss Alps which even had edible flowers on the rind. Prices were affordable too. The restrooms were very clean and you're pretty much guaranteed not to wait in line given the extensive amount of check out sections. I pray and hope they come to Florida soon! read more

I love Wegmans. I just don't love going to Wegmans. I rarely can go during the week so inevitably if I visit it's on the weekend. If you have been to the location in Fairfax, you know what a brutal experience it is - horribly designed crowded parking lot and masses of shoppers all pushing those huge carts with kids in tow. Not an ideal shopping experience no matter how good the produce, bakery, cheeses and meats/seafood look. This location in Dulles is different. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of with many more exit/entrance points. It's a newer store so it's roomier and out in Dulles, not nearly as crowded. The quality of their products is wonderful and selection is better in this bigger store. Checkout lines are not too long even on weekends. Two things that stand out about this location. First, the wine selection is huge with a great variety of wines from all over the world at different price points. I especially love browsing the "high end" wine room. Although I wouldn't purchase for everyday, this room has a nice selection of special occasion wines. Second, unlike Fairfax, they maintained the seafood counter where fresh fish is cooked to order for your enjoyment. This little counter is always crowded. When I need to make a trip to Wegmans, this is the location I will visit from now on. read more

I adore Wegmans. I love it. There are not enough descriptors I can use to address this store. Is it perfect? Well, almost. I only know of one grocery store that tops it, and it's a flagship location so it doesn't count. The store set up, once I learned it, is great. The selection? Breathtaking. Prices (as long as you don't buy a new serving dish or a new beach set or something) are not only comparable, but in a lot of situations much lower than the area average I've found. Food is always fresh, and customer service and cashiers are super friendly. I've only gone into other groceries stores 1-3 times since this opened, and I'm always disappointed that I didn't take the extra 5 minutes to drive to Wegmans instead! read more

Wegmans is the best store in the world. I think we all know that by now.

I love Weggies, I truly do. I pine for a Weggies in my neck of the woods, knowing its so close... yet so far. After growing up having Wegmans around every corner, it is so difficult to even like any other grocery store. But what I am so very disappointed with at this particular location is the parking layout. Who the heck was put in charge to design the parking lot, and traffic flow from and back on to Rt. 7? Clearly the engineer mixed up the blueprints for the Weggie's parking lot with his 7 year old's arts and crafts drawing. I'm not sure GPS can even help you get out of this parking lot, it is just that awful! If I drive out to the Leesburg outlets and decide to grab some of my favorite Wegman items before hiking back to Rockville, I will certainly bypass this location and head over to Sterling, where their parking lot is just that much more accessible. Even if I have to sit there for 10 minutes to try and make a left hand turn out of the parking lot. Its that much better than driving in circles and winding up at a dead end. read more

I came this Wegmans very often in the past. But it seems more I come, more I get disappointed. Especially young employees. One Sunday evening, I tried drive through at the parking lot. But one young employee looks like college age with glasses, was walking in the middle of drive way, and refused to aside. When I gestured to move, he gave back some unpleasant attitude. Another time, I tried to pay by credit card for soda, but casher girl who is looking like another college age said " Why don't you pay by cash? Such small amount. " Can I choose how to pay? Or do they decide how to pay? I don't know. She scolded me. There were more unpleasant experiences. But I forgot, because too often. All done by young employees. I suggest better employee training.....for your better future. read more

I'm gonna get smack for only giving it 4 stars. My friends all adore this place -- and I gotta admit, I'm impressed. I definitely love the carry-out/dining selection...Indian, Chinese, ridiculous delicious Turkey dinners, adorable cupcakes, oyster bar (yesss! but mainly just Blue Point), seafood, etc. They are have probably one of the best delis in the area. Only thing is the price -- you can definitely get produce and other things cheaper at your local grocery store, or better yet, Whole Foods. But if you're already here for the hot foods, might as well get everything else here. Parking's kind of crazy with diversions here and there, and I'm sure once the retail shops open up, it's going to be packed. read more

I love this store! It can be expensive for some items, but its usually the organic items, so I don't think they are out of line from other organic items at other stores. Wegmans is so big, it has your regular grocery items along with various hot food bars, salad bars, cheese stations, olive bar...it goes on and on. And there's like 89 registers to check out so the lines aren't very long...ok slight exaggeration...I think there's like 20. The biggest problem that I have with Wegmans is the parking lot. It is CRAAAZY annoying to get out of. However, this isn't limited to just Wegmans, but also goes for every other store in this shopping center. Ok, I'm going to rant for a minute: What is it about Ashburn and annoyingly unplanned parking lots??? The Lowes & WalMart in Sterling...Wegmans & Target on Waxpool...the Home Depot & Giant in South Riding. I mean, what is it with only planning ONE major exit that 1200 people try to get out of at the same time??? Just sayin'. It makes me not want to go to Wegmans after work because I don't want to deal with the chaos getting out of the parking lot. Other than that, Wegmans is a winner! read more

I don't think I have ever had a bad experience at Wegmans. I have been shopping at Wegmans since I was a wee girl living in upstate western New York. Now they have them all over the DC area - splendid. I couldn't complain. This one is close to my brother in law's place, so I try to find an excuse to stop by every visit. This location specifically has good service and delicious sushi. I really love their sushi here. It is always fresh, and if you catch the sushi man at a good time - he is more than happy to customize a roll for you. But again, you gotta catch him when he's in a good mood - otherwise he will tell you he can't make custom rolls (which is a fib on his part). I love their juice, this location specifically always has the freshest juice. While I believe all their stores have the same standards and are very consistent. I noticed that this location has the freshest juice between this and the Sterling and Dulles Wegmans which are also fairly close by. Produce is always fresh here. Love the olive bar, wine area and cheese section. I noticed that many people mentioned that Wegmans is overpriced or expensive. My response is yes, it can be expensive. But what I do sometimes is just buy what they have on sale, and go elsewhere for the basic things. Or.... if you are buying processed foods, shop their generic brand. Their generic brand is actually good. But their produce is good quality and very often has great deals or sales on certain items. So keep an eye out. I would not buy their health food here, it's definitely pricey but again look for sales. They do have them. I like going to Wegmans for produce, olive bar, cheeses and meats. Other stuff, I will go elsewhere or shop generic. Wegmans can be an all day event. Reminds me of home all over again, except the people in this area are much snobbier than they are in my hometown! read more

Wonderful store and more importantly AMAZING customer service. I walked in with new shoes I had bought less than 30 minutes before and stepped on some asshole's chewed gum in the middle of the aisle. Fortunately, the employees are very professional and almost immediately came to my aid. In specific, the employee named "Mike" helped me out and got everything fixed up for me, and the other employees showed real empathy for my situation. Honestly, I've been going to wegmans for a long time, and there is not a doubt in my mind that it is the best grocery store. Holy Ukrop's on steroids why don't we have these in Richmond? This place is truly amazing. It's like if you took Fresh Market and Whole Foods and they had a baby, and then Elwood Thompson's and Ukrop's and they had a baby, and then those two babies grew up and had sex... Wegman's would be the creepy guy with a mustache filming it. Just kidding it would be the baby. It's amazing to see a place that has so much fresh produce that's ACTUALLY fresh. A friend and I ate at the seafood bar and were amazed at the seafood "tapas" quality seafood prepared right before us. My friend spent her childhood summers on the coast of Maine and said that the calamari was the best she had eaten. It is served without batter so you can taste the seafood itsself. We had calamari, fresh clams and a salad for $13 per person. The salad is prepared with a tarragon vinaigrette, veggies and feta to die for IMHO. We ordered the ice water to enjoy the great taste of the seafood. Steer clear of the Australian Lollipops. Cutesie name but tough if you like your meat medium to well done. read more

I had never been to Wegmans until it opened up here in Leesburg, much to the amazement of my friends. They all offered to go with me to one of the other Wegmans in the area, but I was holding out until "my" Wegmans opened here. And now that I have gone, I totally understand the obsession. For prepared foods, and even "ready-to-cook" foods, their selection can't be beat. They can of course get a bit pricey, but if you are willing to buy them when they go on special (a whole day earlier than other store) you can really get good deals on them. Their regular groceries are very competitively priced, especially if you are a smart shopper and watch for sales. They have a natural foods section that rivals Whole Foods, but their overall offerings are much more fairly priced than Whole Foods. For days when you feel like celebrating something special, they have a seafood bar (really a small restaurant) right in the middle of the store, and it even has some excellent beer on tap. And their chocolate cake...oh the chocolate cake. There are no real words to describe the excellence that is their chocolate cake. Thank goodness it comes in a mini size or I would have serious problems! This is a full service store, offering a pharmacy, which makes it easy to complete multiple errands at once. When they first opened, I went nearly every day or at least 4-5 times per week. Now I go much less often, but still with some regularity. I highly recommend Wegmans to anyone who may not already be familiar with it. And the Leesburg Wegmans is excellent. read more

This review is JUST for their dine-in area. The buffet has really gone to the dogs and we have contracted a stomach bug every time we eat there. The food is often stale and needs to be avoided. Do your grocery shopping there, but do your eating at the various other options available in that shopping complex outside the Wegmans! read more

Finally, Wegman's Leesburg has arrived. This is probably the most aniticipated opening day in Loudoun County history and I was not disappointed. So I've been twice already. The traffic is a bit of a mess, but not nearly as bad today as yesterday on opening day. This will of course die down over the next several weeks. There is a lot of parking and even if you have to park in the garage it really isn't that bad of a walk. The store itself is amazing. I have always been amazed by the Dulles store, but I think Leesburg is even better. The layout is nice and the aisles seem spacious. All the sections seem to be bigger, the wine and beer selection alone seems as big as a small grocery store. The cafe area is amazing and seems to have more options then Dulles. The Seafood Bar is a great addition where you can sit and have a glass of wine or beer and have some amazing food cooked to order. Also they have a guy who is making homemade crab cakes and serving up crab soup. I ate from the sushi section yesterday, might be the best sushi in town and even had them special make something for me. Today ate from the hot food bar and everything was delicious. I am so happy Wegman's has finally opened in Leesburg, but fear my monthly food budget is going to need to be increased. I can hardly wait to see what other shops open in that same development. read more

Krishna P pretty much summed it up. As far as your run of the mill supermarket, Wegmans is very solid. They have a great mix of conventional and specialty items. Some of the items you can get at this location that I found, which I would bet could not be purchased at the other markets in Leesburg: real Cadbury chocolate (from England), Dr. Konstantin Frank Riesling (in their Finger Lakes Wine Section), and Salamida Spiedie Sauce. As for other things I love about this Wegmans - the individually vacuum sealed packs of marinated chicken, the enormous natural food aisle, the bulk candy section, and the seafood bar. Organic chicken for $6.99/lb is very inexpensive (especially by New York standards). The aisles are sparkling clean. I'm crossing my fingers that a Wegmans will open downstate New York soon. read more

I love Wegmans, but I'm not IN love with Wegmans. I work nearby so this frequent haunt has earned the designation as our office cafeteria. It's by far my favorite all-around market. They offer a decent selection of pre-made/ready to eat food. The buffet can be a bit pricey for the dried out Chinese food, but their sushi selection is fantastic along with their specialty sandwiches for meals on the go. We try to balance our carbohydrate consumption, but if we're going to splurge the Wegmans bakery is hands down our first pick. Their bread is out of this world and their specialty cookies are downright sinful. The great news is that most of their artisan bread is offered in roll and/or half loaf form and their cookies can be bought as singles so when you're on the couch you don't keep hearing the carbs whisper from the counter. I gave the store 4 out of 5 based on the occasional storewide merchandise reorganization they like to pull, the hit-or-miss hot buffet, the scattered placement of some items in multiple locations, and they've slowly started to phase out several varieties of brands. All-in-all, I'm probably here more often than I'm not and I'm not embarrassed to be recognized by most of the check-out staff. read more

I have to admit, my first experience at this grocery store was rather daunting. I was a newly wed who had just moved to VA from San Diego, CA. I was new at grocery shopping for two, new at east coast living, and had certainly never seen any grocery store nearly as large as this one. Who even knew there were so many varieties of food to fit in such an enormous store?! As I've acclimated to all of the above novelties, Wegmans has become very dear to me. The produce section is very large, maneuverable, and inexpensive (with many organic options). They have special large sections for those on specific diets (such as gluten free). I have never had a negative customer service experience. The employees are genuinely helpful and encouraging and they seem to be in surplus. Every time I've needed to ask a question, I could find an employee pretty much immediately (even in all the vastness of this super store). Also, they have my absolute favorite reusable grocery bags. :) From what I hear, this one in Leesburg is the nicest one around, too! Sweet! read more

This is one place you don't need to go by reviews. Just go there and everyone has something they will love. Best grocery store with great selection of meats, seafood, veggies, foreign food, etc. It also has a decent selection of dine-in or carryout buffet style, pizza, subs, sushi, burritos, coffee shop, and excellent bakery. They could use a bit better presentation on the Buffett because although the food is absolutely delicious, it looks old when its really not. I think its the lighting. I love Wegman's however the Dulles location is my favorite because it has a larger selection. The Leesburg location was turning into my favorite Wegman's however they stopped carrying Bison ribeyes and so I am going to stop going. However, the Leesburg location does have a HUGE wine section and there were many people in it stocking up this afternoon! One guy had one of the larger size charts loaded with wine and no food. The produce section in his Wegman's is gets worse each week. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten home only to find that the berries are already moldy or that as fruit ripens it becomes clear that it was dropped. Oh, Wegmans, how I love thee! This place rocks!! I still get turned around sometimes, but that's okay, you're worth it. The only thing I would change is to put isle guides thruout the store. You know, those big signs that would hang down and tell you where toothpaste is or the peanut butter. It can get a little confusing remembering which isle something was in. The a side, or the b side...And, yes, it is a goofy parking lot, but it's not that confusing. I'd rather park there than risk my life taking that left turn out of the Rt. 28 Wegmans parking lot across from Target. And besides, just drive a little towards the DSW and exit the parking lot that way. It's much safer and usually you get ahead of everyone else! The new Leesburg Wegmans is great!! They have everything I need, want and dream of having! Great prices too! The seafood bar is a perfect for lunch or dinner too! Kind of $$, but good food and beer! read more

Just finished Grocery Shopping and I just realized I'm missing a grocery bag. I looked in my car, couldn't find it. Called Customer Service the girl says, did it have Apples, Avacado & Chocolate , I answered yes, that's my bag. So I get back in my car & drive back to Wegman's. What I can't understand is, there's a Cashier, and a boy placing grocery items in bags, then he placed bags in my shopping cart. How does this happen?? read more

Wegmans is the GOAT of the NOVA grocery stores with their amazing selection of breads, cheeses, groceries, oh and their hot bar. However, I will have to say in the sense of hot bar selections, this Wegmans has fallen off the wagon. The pizza here is either gone completely or greasy. They rarely have the good selection of soups (I'm talking about the beef chili, the chicken noodle soup). The mexican burrito area is the only thing they have a leg up over the other Wegmans (which I think may have started also doing this), but they jip you on the salsa. Even their salad bar doesn't really get replenished that often and it looks all wilted. This location was closer to my old work but I always went to Sterling location instead. And the vegetarian hot bar selections literally look like they are replaced once a day. If they had someone to constantly change the foods and keep it fresh, then I'd come back here. read more

We normally don't frequent this Wegmans because others are closer. This store was much like other Wegmans in the DC area. It had Wegmans usual food bars, food preparation areas (subs, pizzas, dinners), bakery, seafood, meat, and deli areas. Wegmans also stocks normal groceries at competitive prices. read more

There should really be two different listings for Wegmans - one as a grocery store and one as a place to go to just sit down and EAT. My family LOVES Wegmans. We go there probably once per week. We ESPECIALLY love the Wegmans in Leesburg because they have Coke products in the soda fountains (whereas the Dulles Wegmans has Pepsi). We LOVE the food court here. Everyone gets what they want, and everyone is happy. I love getting the more exotic Indian or Thai or Chinese food. My kids generally stick with the pizza or sandwiches. Oh, and the Leesburg Wegmans has a pretty good burrito bar, too (don't have that at the Dulles Wegmans). We frequently go here for lunch on the weekend. After we finish eating lunch, we'll swing by the dessert counter and each pick out one of their fabulous gourmet cookies. We love Wegmans as a grocery store too. Some people say they're too expensive, but my wife and I have found that their prices for the general pre-packaged stuff like cereal that we would buy at any other grocery store, their prices are actually very low and competitive with other stores. The things that can sock-it to your wallet are the gourmet items they have for sale. It IS nice to splurge once in a while and try something amazing from the gourmet sections. Plus, if you ever find yourself in a pinch to quickly get ready for some unexpected company, just pick up some of the already prepared meats and side dishes that you can just take home and cook without any prep time.
