I've been to this location a couple of times generally because I happen to be in Leesburg and its on the way home when I need a few items. I'd give it 4 stars but unfortunately when here this past week, there was an issue where I was over charged but I'll get to that in a moment. Overall I do like this store much bigger than the Dulles location, although the layout is different so I often have to try and look in earnest for what I'm there for. The store is clean and there always seems to be an adequate number of people at the registers so they do seem to be better in this area as compared to the Dulles store. Getting in and out is still a bit confusing, I don't know why Wegmans in NOVA make it sort of maze like but I've noticed this at a few of the stores I've been to. So back to why 3 stars. So again I literally needed a few items milk, potatoes, and corn. Milk was on special so that was under 3 bucks, corn was 6 ears for 2 bucks so that's 5 in total. I bought maybe 3 lbs of potatoes and my bill ended up being 19 dollars!! It didn't click until after I finished my transaction and looked at my receipt. I thought it was a bit expensive for those few items but then when I saw it on paper before leaving the store I realized the clerk charged me for red peppers instead of red potatoes which were 1.49 per lb. I happened to be by customer service showed them the receipt and the item, which they then refunded me the difference back onto my debit card a whole 9 dollars! Note to self-check the receipt before you leave the store, thankfully I didn't have that much so spotting the issue was rather painless. read more

Wegmans anywhere are always busy. People just love the store to include me. Their sushi is always on point and I would highly recommend. I also enjoy anything in their bakery. Donuts, bagels, cookies, pretzels, etc are something to try and enjoy. The wine and beer selection at this location is huge! I found new beers that even I couldn't find at Total wine and More. The parking lot is a mess but if you have been to any wegmans you will run into the same issue. It should be noted there is a place to enjoy a meal while in the store. Yesterday was my first time at this Wegmens location and it was spacious and clean. It's located right off route 7 and in a shopping center I've never been to. I went around 9 at night which is the perfect time to go. No problems with the big parking lot which means no traffic. Yay! Except for the fact I had to go around in a circle because the signs were confusing. Inside, the buffet area didn't seem as big as the one in Fairfax but it was basically the same thing. Prices are affordable and I love their bakery goods. Fruit tarts for the win! My one problem is that I was craving a cookies and cream milkshake and the employee failed me miserably. I was so disappointed, it was basically chunks of ice and oreo cookies. He didn't know what he was doing but damn he could have at least crushed the ice. I didn't try it until I got into the car and realized how full of ice it was. I will stick to the Fairfax location for my milkshake needs but never again will I come back here to get one. I keep thinking the world will come to an end long before Wegmans ever gets to Raleigh, NC, and it probably will. Wegmans isn't just a store, it's an experience. However, since I make various trips North to visit relatives, the next best thing is to try to visit one of the new stores while out on the trip. This was my first visit to this particular location. Something about this store just seems lacking compared to the Sterling, Fairfax and Fredericksburg locations. Part of it might be the parking, which while somewhat strange, wasn't difficult to navigate until I tried to leave. Although it's boasted as the largest in the chain, this store seems like it's smaller than other locations, the sheer awesomeness as I drive up the the the Fredericksburg store seems to dwarf the Leesburg location for some reason. In addition, it seems the layout of the Leesburg store is the exact opposite of the Fredericksburg store. In fact, it almost reminded me (slightly) of the Newark (NY) store. That said, I only got to spend an hour in this store before I needed to hit the road again. I'm still not sure what it is about this one that doesn't make it as appealing as the others in NoVA. First stop was the sushi bar. I had some tuna rolls, salmon rolls and some other sushi that was just plain outstanding. The Wasabi had just the right amount of sinus clearing effect without being obnoxiously overpowering. The view down below while enjoying my sushi from the tables on the second floor lounge area was a pretty cool sight for those who like people watching. Next stop - grab a small cart and fill it. I had packed cooler bags in the car, so it didn't bother me knowing I'd have a 5 hour drive ahead of me with perishables in the car. I went straight for the Zweigles - I was upset, no more Zweigles light? I grabbed the Wegmans brand of "light" dogs right next to the Zweigles (I cleaned them out) and then proceeded to grab a 1/2 dozen packages of Zweigles white hots - Mike is gonna be happy when we see him. Next stop - condiment aisle for hot sauce - what in the world happened to the hot sauce selections? I was looking specifically for a hot sauce called Jamaican me Wail - no such luck. I settled on trying the Tiger sauce and pickapeppa. I did find the Dinosaur Wango Tango BBQ sauce but the pickin's seemed kind of slim. Nance's mustard was right there so I grabbed a couple bottles of the Hot and a couple of the sharp and creamy. Then came the vegetables - and the soups and the peanut butter and the "omg" Triple Fruit!!! Yes, the stop was fruitful, and the 18 lb bag of ice kept the perishables in good order for the trip home. I didn't get to explore the entire store - maybe that's what was missing for me - I was on a timeline, had already spent several hours in the car, and still had several hours to go. Disappointing! I visit lots of Wegman's locations, but this was my first time to this location. I came specifically to get a lobster steamed and some shrimp. Knowing its Wegman's I expected to get both without any issue or concern. Well, both were negative experiences. There was only one type of shrimp in the seafood section, wild shrimp at $16.99/lb. They looked bigger in the case then they were when I got home to cook them. Lobsters looked good in the tank, but they couldn't steam them for me and suggested I go to another store. Thought about taking the chance to steam them at home, but not a lot of cooking space at home. I did pick up a few extra items I saw at somewhat reasonable prices and headed on my way. I didn't opt to buy the lobster, which really is a big reason for stopping at Wegman's versus going to any other run of the mill grocery store. I only happened to be out in Leesburg visiting a friend, otherwise I wouldn't have stopped here. Next time I'll go to one where I know they steam lobster and have other shrimp options when I'm specifically going for those two items which I occasionally do. Wegman's is one of the best grocery stores EVER. If you have never been to one you need to go. I feel I find the best bargains on my regular shopping there. I am not a fan of that other grocery store that is on every corner in Loudoun County which I feel is very expensive. In most cases the Wegman's products are just as good as name brand products as well so we tend to buy a lot of Wegman's products. Also, they have the best produce, a fantastic bakery, bulk candy, good wine selections and tons of imported items. They also have great prepared meals, an asian/indian/salad bar, pizza, coffee shop and sushi. You can get your lunch/dinner and eat there. I do feel when we eat dinner there we end up spending as much as we would at a restaurant with service so we don't eat there much. Oh and don't miss the train they have the store! Customer service is on the spot at this location. I get off pretty late where i work so i knew i wouldnt be able to make it in time to get the cut of Ribeye that i wanted from the meat department. So i called in honestly thinking that they wouldnt be able to do what i would request over the phone. I requested to have a cut of Ribeye be sent to the front so by the time i got there it would be ready and all i would have to do is go in the store pay for it and go along my way and they did just that. Nate from the Meat department was able to get me the cut that i wanted and have it sent to the front for pickup when i arrived around 11 pm, the manager happily came to the front after being called by the cashier (Madi you are awesome) and got the piece from the fridge. The only complaint that i have is on myself in that i didnt ask for two cuts. I believe it was Thanksgiving day that i came in last minute (yes im a procrastinator) and i saw that the meat was all gone so i looked around and didnt really want one of the prepackaged cuts, and i asked a couple employees working where i could find fresh cuts and they pointed to a manager for the meat department and i went over and asked the same question. Hoping he would be able to lead me to a store that would give me fresh cuts ( i believe his name was Nate? same gentleman i spoke with over the phone) he was able to go in the back and give me the cuts i wanted, saving me the trip to another store. AWFUL CATERING EXPERIENCE - we love our local wegmans. The fruit and veggies are top notch and customer service is excellent. So, with that in mind we decided to order food from here for our one-year-old's birthday party. We were beyond disappointed with the quality of the food provided. We had the chicken nuggets, that were so oily they left puddles on peoples plates, and mushy to the touch. We also had the sub platter that tasted just like Subway sandwiches, all bread and very little meat. Finally, we had the berry salad which was the biggest disappointment of all. Look Wegmans cannot be beat for a general all around supermarket. Yes, Moms or Whole Foods may be a better bet for specialty items and the local farmers markets are certainly more than respectable. But when you need to get everything all at once for the kitchen and the rest of the house, Wegmans will have both the selections and prices you want. The real stand outs for them are the cheese section, which frankly is better than Whole Foods, and the beer and wine section. The latter has amazing prices and a section that includes higher end French and Napa wines in additional to some of the best craft beers including local greats like Adroit Theory and Old Ox. This Wegmans is a bit larger than The location in Dulles. I'm glad they have one in Leesburg since my parents live out that way meaning I can make a pit stop here for a quick bite to eat or for some last minute grocery shopping. The hot foods bar is larger with a greater variety. The wine and beer selection are quite large too; a good problem to have for people like myself. They even have a seafood bar where you can enjoy delicious seafood cuisines paired with a nice wine or beer. As much as I love the Dulles location, it doesn't have these nice additions that the Leesburg location has. What else can I say? I love Wegmans! read more

Huge grocery store. Huge take out section. Inside seafood restaurant in the middle of it all. Upstairs has plenty of seating for your take out dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Store brand totally rocks and they offer a great organic/gluten free section. Produce is fresh and they have good prices. Large wine/beer section as well. Prices aren't crazy high either. The wok bar is very poorly managed. It is suppose to be up and running by 11:30 but by noon they are still trying to put food out. They have begun to switch out their most popular foods and now the food they replaced ex- sweet cream shrimp is now Kung Pau Chicken dumplings are now pork Chicken egg rolls are now vegetable or pork. Shrimp purses- they don't make them anymore. The replacements are literally sitting there for hours and I have watched the staff just pour water into the sauce to make it not so dried out. Really?! They have also stopped with their drink selection. There use to be a nice selection but now it is soda and snapple etc. They nicer brands like Inko are gone. I came early one morning (ie 7am) the bakery was unloading their cakes from another companies box. No wonder all their products have HFCS- because it really isn't made from scratch. Your kitchen doesn't have HFCS when you bake something but somehow Wegmans wants us to believe HFCS is organic...... I have also when comparing prices found that Wegmans is a full $1.50 more than Safeway, Food Lion, and Giant. Why are you paying more? There is no reason for that price hike. read more

I address this to anyone who has food allergies...do not eat the sushi or any of the food in the food bar at Wegmans in Leesburg Va. In July of 2019 I purchased some lo mein from the food bar. When I got in my car I took a spoonful and noticed that a piece of shrimp was mixed in with my lo mein. My shrimp allergy is quite extreme, and if I had eaten this, I would have gone into anaphylactic shock and died. I promptly took my container of food back and explained to a Wegman's customer service employee what had happened. She told me that this was very serious and that she would bring this to the attention of the store manager. HAHA! I went back to Wegmans on 08-07-19 and noticed the shrimp there on the food bar, beside other foods that did not contain shellfish, just as it had been back in July. I talked to Erin, an assistant store manager, and informed her what happened in July and explained to her that they almost KILLED me. "Okay" she said (notice her total lack of concern). She then took down my name, phone number and said " I will let the store manager know". Many people have severe allergies to peanuts and shrimp , so these items should be seperated from other food at the bar so there is no chance of cross-contamination. On another note, a Wegmans associate at the sushi bar informed me that they use the same tools and cutting boards for all sushi (with or without shellfish) and that they can not alter the way they prepare sushi. We have been buying our Challah (non-Kosher) bread from the Wegmans in Leesburg, VA, off of Rt 7, for years. For these past two Fridays, December 6, and today, December 13, 2019, we have been told there is an "issue" with their "supplier". Why do the other grocery store chains in Northern Virginia, like Harris Teeter, Giant, etc., have Challah, but not Wegmans? When we ask what is the problem, we get sort of a run-around non-answer and are referred to the pre-packaged kosher Challah that is nowhere as delicious as the Wegmans' Challah. We are not Jewish, but you have to wonder, is there something anti-Semitic going on here? We find it curious that no other grocery store chain in the Northern Virginia area has in "issue" with their "supplier", except Wegmans. read more

This is my favorite of the Wegmens in Loudoun. It's huge and always has plenty of selection of anything. Staff is always nice and I like that they are one of the best employers rated so you know that their employees are glad that they work there. Aisles are fairly roomy. Getting prescriptions is pretty easy, especially with the curbside option you don't even have to go inside though the parking spaces are tucked away in the far corner of the parking lot. I do wish that they had a Mexican cook to serve option like in Dulles. Pizzas to go are awesome value and have great crust. The one downside, is the parking lot (as most in Virginia) is horrific to get in and out of, especially during busy times. I come from California and we don't bottle people up into one or two entrances and exits. I figure it might be safer but it makes for crazy parking lot driving. Upstairs dining area is epic and my favorite part of the store/as is the outside area but haven't used it since March of last year - pre-Covid. After several years shopping at Wegmans, I found out their customer services are the same as other profit hungry grocery stores. I bought supposedly a large high quality bottle of vitamin C while ago from Wegmans in Leesburg Virginia where we normally shop a minimum of approximately $500 per week.(Large family) So after while the Vitamin C's pills discoloration happened from real white to a very dark yellow. So when I was returning it, the clerk at customer services said we cannot take it back because you used a lot of it and you don't have a receipt so she checked with manager on the phone and explaining "he doesn't have receipt and the product is mostly used and we shouldn't refund him", but the manager allowed store credit then the clerk responded to me (in a very impolite manner like I'm doing this regularly) my manager said next time You bring something to return we would not accept it. It was like insulting and treating someone who is in the business of cheating stores for refunds. So I told the clerk I don't need your refund and you can trash the remainder of the Vitamins and tell your manager this is not the way you treat any customer. So I think after all these years of Wegmans retail history When it comes to customer services, they have long way to go and a lot to learn. It take $100's or $1000's to advertise and gain a customer but Wegmans lost one today over a $30 refund which this return could be a feedback about the Vitamins brand which they carry. read more

Adult entertainment just doesn't get much better folks - that is if you are into food - lots and lots of good food! While we didn't opt to tailgate for the opening as others have done when Wegman's first came to NOVA, we did make it in for the opening day craziness (and freebies). My husband hails from Wegman's birthplace and has been used to their quality of service and grocery offerings for many years. The evolution however has presented itself in the newer stores that have opened in our area - spacious, incredible meat, fish, bakery, confections, wine, beer, organic and international offerings abound. Not only is the selection of ingredients for homemade culinary delights huge, they have extremely high quality fully prepared meals that you can mix n' match to take home. There is also a wide variety of food ranging from pizza, subs, wings, Thai, Chinese, Sushi...the list goes on to include salads, fruit and so much more that you can eat on premise in either the upstairs dining areas or, as we found in the Leesburg store, outdoor seating! There is even a section in the upstairs area with child size chairs/tables next to adult size seating so the kids can watch a video and the parents can eat at their own pace. The first place I headed was the bakery area - after owning a business for years I had to see if they got the bagels right - and I'd say they were at 95% - which is pretty darn good folks! They boil and bake, just like they should in a bakery of this size - but a few of the bagels had either spent too much time in the water or were over proofed - please do not put the smoshed, flat or pocked bagels on the display!! Use them for bagel chips or croutons so you don't have waste - but putting them on display next to the perfectly plump, shiny offerings just doesn't work for me! As for the samples of food offerings that happen ongoing at Wegmans - we need trashcans located in those areas please. It takes all of 2 seconds to down the sample of cake, salami, salmon, etc., but you have to carry the trash all over till you can locate a receptacle!! Also, when any offering of fish, such as the wonderful smoked salmon we had yesterday is being handed out - please offer a small fork (I had to ask for one) or place the sample on a cracker of some sort so we aren't expected to handle the fish then go about our shopping sans handi-wipe....yuck! Traffic is a non-issue for me - I expect it when I head to any of the Wegman's in NOVA - relax, you will find a parking spot! The best thing about Wegman's being in Leesburg(?)..... I'm one more step closer to having every retail need I could want - the ONLY thing we lack out here is a Multi-plex theatre....one day we'll have that too! read more

I LOVE & HATE the Leesburg, VA Wegman's (maybe all of them--I've only been to two). I love it for all the reasons everybody else does. And I absolutely hate its parking lot and inside layout. HATE, LOATHE & DESPISE its inside layout. Takes forever to find anything in very big, packed store. The result is that I go to Wegman's only when I have to, and only reluctantly then. Coupla things: I am a foodie. I live in Western Loudoun. I am used to and do not mind driving 30 or 60 miles one-way to get some ingredient, veggie, fruit, etc. that I want to use for something I wanna eat/make. I spend a lotta money on food--prices for foods are a total non-issue to me. So driving the 20-30 minutes from my house to Wegman's is no problem for me. But I resent the almighty hell out of having to wander around in that store forever, vainly trying to find things in this worst of all supermarket layouts, with the most difficult food aisle signs to read. Hell, Wegmans makes me walk halfway from front to back of the store just to be able to READ aisle signs! That's customer abuse, not good service. And look, I understand a wee bit about grocery store marketing. I kinda/sorta understand the weird design of Wegman's mish-mash of product arrangement: walking from one of the most popular sections to another takes me thru the less frequently purchased products. Makes sense. They want me to buy some high-margin stuff while I'm there, and some impulse buys. No problem. But Jesus H Christ, Wegman's corporate peeps, can't you do something about that insane parking lot, and your store arrangements? I live in one of the most affluent counties in the world. I am a non-price sensitive foodie. I am your market target. And my time is valuable to me; I do not want to spend 2-3 times more time getting in and outa your store than I need to. Hell, keep your customer unfriendly layout! But do something to help us all navigate it faster. Why not become the first (?) grocery store in the country to allow me to shop using a Phone App. Quick and easy product lookups and drop downs. Tap the product and the app shows me where to go in the store. Is this a lotta data entry work? Absolutely. Would it be revolutionary? Maybe, but God knows the social buzz and PR alone would be golden for the first store who does it. And they will do it... Wegman's, why not be first? Finally, last but not least. On one of my first visits, I am checking out with 4-5 bottles of wine and I get carded (and I don't carry my wallet and cards on my personal-person all the time). 68 years old and they CARDED ME!?!?! "C'mon" I said to checkout girl. "Don't be silly." Checkout clerk wouldn't budge on it. "Fine, keep the wine, just ring up the groceries." Again, I understand why the policy is in place. Seriously the best grocery store in the world! Wegmans is massive and has the best selection of food I've ever seen. Found foods here I didn't even know existed. Tons of fresh produce, incredible selection of wine and coffee, and lots and lots of vegetarian foods. Take your time going up and down every aisle so you don't miss something. The best way I can sum up Wegmans is by saying it's like Whole Foods but so much better, because they have everything that Whole Foods has plus "regular" groceries and kitchenware, and they don't charge you up the ass for it. I mean, nowhere else have I found good-for-you Kashi pizzas for $5! Wegmans also offers the hot lunch and olive bar like Whole Foods, as well as a fresh sushi place. Oh, and my advice is to follow someone on your way out... or the parking lot may be a maze to you (drive away from the highway and Wegman's, towards the rest of the shopping center to get back on the road.) read more

Chris Baker, Ahmed (I think), and Andrew (I think)... amazing. I have a lot of food intolerances and these 3 are amazing at accommodating all of them... with good conversation the whole time. I don't really eat out anywhere else anymore. Of course, I do all my grocery shopping here too. Best customer service around. Bess is amazing at keeping things together. Diana, Joyce, and Brian usually check me out midday and are unique personalities with a great work ethic. In pharmacy, Anne is a great help when I can't find something.
